And that's why me and my petition friends created a petition so we could change this darker, emotional, deeper, violent, brutality, aggression, bloodier, gritty, Mature, stronger, powerful, adult show and ending will be changed into a cliche, romantic, princess, happily ever after more like a Walt Disney princess ending Style of Samurai Jack.

It sucks that Mako Iwamatsu is dead he voiced aku as well as prince zukos uncle in avatar.
They could get Greg Baldwin (who succeeded Mako on Avatar and TMNT 2007) to voice him for the new season.

Mako actually died before the final season of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is why Iroh basically stopped talking after he was imprisoned.

After Teen Titans Go and PowerPuff Girls (2016), I'm glad that a classic CartoonNetwork show like Samurai Jack is finally getting justice.
And reviving it on Adult Swim? That's not justice, that's taking Jack to new levels, levels that were impossible by kid's channel standards

It is kind of surreal to suddenly realize how Jack has spent more time in the future than he has in the past.
I love the genuineness of these guys. I feel like I'm actually watching them talk _about_ the show behind the scenes rather than pitch it. The crew clearly have confidence in what they're creating.
And I find it awesome that Tartakovsky himself is keeping his fifteen year word to conclude the series without halfassing it. He could have easily slapped an hour long movie together or tacked an ending into the comic book series, but no, the dude is releasing a whole episodic final season. So cooool.

They still are. At least for kids. There are still a chance for action cartoons to come back, but then it'll all be for older audiences. kids moved on from action to comedy.

Aku's original voice actor - Mako Iwamatsu - is dead, but, as already mentioned, he will be voiced by someone who can imitate Mako. But you are very close to that statement.
I think he meant that he is just now finding out that Mako also voiced Aku in Samurai Jack.

What's great is the tech they're using to make the backgrounds looks just like the old-school way, in a sense.
Drawing out the animations on a tablet is a nice modern way to do animation. While still keeping original art skills in tact.
Now, if only other shows had the same care as shows like Samurai Jack, Steven Universe and even Adventure Time did.

I actually liked the lack of blood. The show had a charm, and its maturity came not from gore and blood, but from the beautiful story behind it. The fruitless endeavor of Jack and his conviction which drove him. This was a key aspect of the character, that regardless of what happened, he would be a true hero holding to his ideals. Like in the hidden monk episode where his goal is within arm's reach, but his vindication to stick to the ideals that make him who he was has him fail in his ultimate goal. Seriously, who didn't want Jack to finally return to the past and finally defeat Aku. Likewise, the episodes with limited speech such as the episode where Jack learns to jump, the whole sequence was so fun to watch, despite literally nothing happening other than Jack acquiring the ability to jump incredibly high. Or even the episode where a powerful sword is forged only to be destroyed in one fell swoop by Jack, rendering the owner utterly defeated with no harm to himself other than his pride and honor as a warrior.

I love that Gendy is completely upfront about Mako. Shows a very sincere bond they had and acknowledgement of his immense talent.

Didn't show Combustion Man's head exploding, all it showed was his metal arm (pretty much saying he's dead). Azula's mom never called her a monster, Azula mentally assumes thats how she sees her. The Last Airbender did have it's did have it's dark moments. But in my opinion I think Legend of Korra was more mature. I'm just stating my opinion on how they are doing the new Samurai Jack.

Pay attention to his statement at 2:19-2:42. He knows he can do more with the show on Adult Swim instead of Cartoon Network. However, he also knows how kids watched it then and today's kids watch it with their parents and older siblings. I like that acknowledged this. This reminds me of Beware The Batman where the second half of the series aired on Adult Swim instead of Cartoon Network, but still kept a family friendly rating. This new season will be edgier, but it will still attract a general audience like it did back then and now.

The show was expensive, and needed high merchandise sales to cover the costs like all action shows do. Thundercats had low merchandise sales, and it was cancelled as a result.

I imagine he was trying to get across that he's trying to keep in line with and live up to how much so many people loved the show, so you get the joyful return of a beloved cartoon, as opposed to some other movies and shows that managed to come back from the dead but were just a shadow of their former selves, or didn't live up to the hype and the memories, or the director's style had just changed and it felt different and "off".
Here's hoping he can nail the mood, feeling and emotions, and work off them and grow them!

As anime is becoming easier to Stream and watched less on TV, I believe Toonami's Adult Swim Block on Saturday needs a new direction.
Samurai Jack is the new direction. This cartoon is the epitome of what Action Cartoons should be.
My hope is with the return of Samurai Jack that this will be a new Renaissance of Action Cartoons. Spread the word! Let's make sure that this show gets the ratings it deserves and to inspire new cartoons to become green-lit into shows!

Man im so happy to see it finally fulfilling its full potential and and fleshing out the entirety of its story and im glad to see its the samurai jack we all know and love with more action greater story depth and HD and to have the original cast and creators is the corner stone to gold words cannot be spoken of how grateful I am. Thank you to the samurai jack creators and actors and to adult swim for making this happen and for always bringing back to us great stories that are close to the hearts like toonami and anime. And of all the terrible shit out there today. Adult swim gives us gold and what really matters in life every Saturday. Again thank you samurai jack people, adult swim, toonami and like Tom says stay golden. P.s. a samurai jack movie would be a incredible way to end the series

I prefer animating in 3d because it is more dynamic, and you can get lots of cool scenes and shots you can't in real life, and would cost a stupid amount to do in 2d. But there is a certain beauty 2d has with it, that 3d can't match.

In almost every case, CN either brings us a crappy reboot, or a good-quality show that lasts only for one-two seasons (Sym-bionic Titan, Thundercats, Young Justice, and Beware the Batman are all clear examples of shows being cancelled for dumb, idiotic reasons). I swear, Stu Snyder completely f'ed Cartoon Network well into the gutter. All of us are still trying to recover and move on since his departure two years ago (thank God he left!). All in all, CN did not deserve this pefect-picture quality TV show. Genndy is free to do what he wants without being hounded by the executives over at CN... :-)

He passed away in the middle of Book 2 and recorded most lines for most of the episodes with few lines recorded by a different actor like Greg. Greg would go on to voice the rest on book 3.

Michael Baldwin replaced mako and became his successor so hes the most likely voice actor. Check the samurai jack wiki on the aku section and look at trivia.

Yes for season 1 and most of season 2 of Avatar. He passed away near the end of production of season 2 and was replaced by Greg Baldwin for the remainder of the series. "The Tale of Iroh" from the episode "Tales of Ba Sing Se" is dedicated to Mako.
And I hope its that same great person who did Mako voice replacement from those other great series and as Aku for justice on last Samurai Jack series.

They really are connecting the viewers on an emotional level especially in episode 2 at the tomb scene with the soundtrack and jacks expression of worry and fear. Really puts you in his place. Keep it up!
