From the number of people who do it--going slow then speeding up when overtaking lanes appear, then slowing back down after, you would swear that it was a new road rule!

There’s a whole mindset about driving what you think feels right. 92 in a 100 zone, then 90 in an 80 zone. It’s most often locals, or old farts going to a job that they’re doing for a bit of cash to buy beer, so they can get drunk, and be more stupid. The worst place in Australia for this is between Tiara and Miriam Vale.

It happens in England as well, even if you are in a car, as soon as an overtaking lane appears (single carriageway become dual carriageway) - a slow car will speed up.

The last one really is the worst kind of douchbag. And he'd be that bloke that would wave his hand out the window dictating you are going too fast.
Police park like that to give themselves an alley of safety as they approach the drivers door.
Shows how safe it was after them 4 police officers got hit and killed less than a year ago. Should of instructed the driver to move 50metres further up the road to a suitable lane area

Fifty years ago in Victoria, a slow vehicle was required to move to the left after hearing three toots of the horn from a rear vehicle to allow the faster vehicle to pass.
I used to do a lot of road train work in north-west Qld and the NT and the absolute bane of my life was grey nomads, towing caravans. On the skinny bit of bitumen that was the Qld part of the Barkly Highway in those days, these old farts would never drop a wheel off the bitumen as they were coming towards me. I had to, which meant I had two or three trailers swinging all over the place, all kicking up thick clouds of dust and.....stones! Guess who's windscreen was going to get smashed? Not mine!
I truly believe that there should be a special licence for people who tow any size caravan because, well, I've known people who can't even reverse a 6 by 4 box trailer, yet they can get out on the open road towing a 30 foot caravan. No special licence, no training and absolutely no experience. Most of them seem to forget completely that they even have anything behind them!

Man i'd be terrible, id be on their ass with a horn handy and if they brake checked me? i'd leave their wrecked arse on the side of the road because trucks beat cars in contacts. Love your vids.

I nilly forgot to say that one of the trucks that I used to have a really great horn,
the switch was on the floor, like the old hi low beam dippers.
Ya hadda keep the floor clean, or dirt could get into the switch, and jam it in the "ON" position.

I can only imagine the work to make one of these videos, but christ I wish they came out once a week. I put up with the insuferable fuckwits on Scotty Dashcams to see more knobheads on the roads, when I'd rather watch this. DCOA is a bit better than Scotty, but I like the real stuff.
I was also a truckie about 20 years ago, doing VIC Metro runs, so that's why I love your videos, because I was the same as you with all gronks out there doing spastic shit on the roads.

just need to put overtaking signs every 500m and everyone will be driving at the speed limit 👍

we get the little blue buggers in Wales , they do 25 mph in a 60 ,looking at the scenery and 45 through villages (posted 30) only time they speed up is when you overtake.twats must have rellies over there.

I tow a large caravan with a RAM. I have the same problem except that I have the power to stick it to them. I NEVER hold up trucks as you are working and have deadlines where as I do not. Safe travels at the speed limit my boy. Cheers Ausgranny 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍👍👍👍

Ah yes the mysterious, magical Australian ,hard to find overtaking lanes hide themselves through out the Australian road network landscape, seem to have magical powers in them that make slower vehicles speed up especially when a truck is about to overtake. Their powers seem to disappear when there is no other vehicles about....

The other horn was in a different truck I jumped in for a delivery with a small dock so unfortunately it doesn't give me permanent access to a good horn. And I remember the Pasha Bulka well

I don’t travel up to Newcastle all that often (I live on the Central Coast) but at the time thought “how often am I going to see a full sized cargo ship on a beach?”. Only downside was that on the day a mate & I traveled up to see it, it was cold, wet & very windy with gale force winds blowing 💨💨💨. It was an unusual sight & one I’ll never forget.

Everything in this video is the reason Heavy vehicles should be factory equipped with 12 gauge and solids. I have never understood the mentality of speeding up in an OT lane then dropping back to 85-90 :/
I even scored a pass on an up and down 85-95 on the start of an OT lane one time and the farker nailed it and overtook me and got back in front before the end of the lane... Then went back to 85-95 :/

The comment about the copper stopped where he was. Those dickheads create more problems by stopping someone in an unsafe place to stop. If you drive on to a safer place to stop they can pin you for evading police, give chase, resist arrest etc. But if police get killed while arresting someone on a freeway in Victoria, all the blame is placed on the others. Not the police. I've been pulled over in the 2nd lane heading north right in the middle of the Harbour Bridge back in 1990 for driving a hotted up car. Caused traffic chaos. Car was found to be roadworthy. They're ego outweighs their brain function

I’m lying in my motel room after a night shift carting asphalt between Nowra and Moruya and I’ve just relived my night through your video. My dashcam recordings have the same expletives as yours. Mate dont you realise cops have flashing lights. That allows them to show no common sense or understanding road safety
The drivers of the vehicles being pulled over by the Police should be instructed via PA to continue on X hundred metres and stop where the road widens...can be instructed via PA to watch for the double flash of the cop's headlights where the cop feels it is safe to pull over.
The cop by that instruction takes legal charge of that motorist...and is liable for any stupidities/accidents/crashes/fatalities....
Otherwise, without instruction, many motorists fear a charge of failing to stop....
and slam on their brakes in the most awkward/unsafe positions possible.
Why are people scared of being overtaken by a truck....Weird. Use your new Horn. Blast the buggers

No 1. It makes truck drivers look as a whole a bunch of rogues.
No 2. This type of behaviour is menacing driving which could get you put behind bars if convicted.
No 3. Pressuring the driver by extreme tailgating takes away thier concentration ahead and shifts it to what’s behind putting other motorists at a higher risk.
No 4. Tailgating prior to overtaking could possibly be why such motorists speed up just before overtaking lanes.
