A center shifted gear lever instead of a column shifter also a 4 gauge cluster compared to the base model which included a RPM gauge compared to the base model with no RPM gauge also a naturally aspirated and quite possibly the best GM 90° pushrod V6 ever made the one and only 3800 series 2 V6 i.e. the 3.8L LS with a sports appearance package Note: The LS with the sports appearance package included a 6 gauge cluster with a 140mph speedometer also a different front lower fascia. Unique 16in alloy wheels, leather seats and a chrome tipped exhaust. SS models came with the supercharged 3800 series 2 V6 making 240 horsepower and 280 pound feet of torque. The SS model came with 6 gauge cluster replacing the volts gauge in the LS with the sports appearance package to a boost gauge. Also unique badging in the interior as well as exterior. Unique spoiler 17-in alloy wheels and dual chrome exhaust tips. Fleet/government 9C1/9C3 Models Note: These models received an option to kill all exterior lights in which it replaced the fog light switch in civilian / retail models. On these models the switch said ( Surv Mode ) also, these models came with a three gauge cluster with a 140 mph speedometer which said certified in the center of the speedometer. The powertrain was the proven 3800 series 2 V6. Tires were 16in Goodyear RSA tires with unique center caps and a unique dark blue interior for some models and others got a tan interior. I think I am missing something feel free to comment...!!!

I miss Sketch’s redesigns. This one looks great and definitely agree that the GT-R taillights fit right with it. I always thought that Chevrolet designers took some inspiration from that.
Impalas should have three tail lights. One of the things that frustrated me about this generation and the ones that followed. The tail lights and wheels you added look good. I wish GM/Chevy would have used the Holden cars (like they did for the SS) as a basis for new generation Caprice, Impala.
Can you do my brothers 1999 Nissan Maxima A32? I think it would be interesting, It used to be my aunties car but was passed down to my brother after she moved to California, He sold his Nissan to his friend for a Infinity G35 which was a great deal. But when he still owned the car, Got in a major accident. The rear left fender was pushed into much that it looked un-driveable, I remember my dad just getting a hammer and opening the trunk and just hammer the rear quarter panel until it was dark. I remember my mom drove the car with me in it and it was a rainy day and I remember being so scared to even ride in it, lol.
I love the look of them but the taillights look so ugly, had an 04 and it has an issue with water filling the floorboards, the dealer has a $8 piece of plastic that goes under the hood to redirect the water away from the waters point of entry at the blower motor. Wires under the carpet will short out because of it.
That Car is a Gen 8 ... Gen 9 was built from 2006 to 2016 (2014 to 2016 being the Limited overlapping with Gen 10s). Just getting rid of the cheap plastic oval door handles was a massive improvement.

I love the custom tail lights with custom bumper, exhaust and chevy insignia and rims. That's actually what I wanted to do with my car.
It's basically a custom body kit for my car that doesn't exist in the after market. I'd have to get custom parts made but it suits my car perfectly. I was wondering if you could do one with the front of the car? I had some cool ideas I wanted to do with my car but thought I could use some inspiration. 😊
@@PhillyDee215 the only problem I had with my 3400 was every time I had to replace a sensor I had to do it 3 times because the "new" ones didn't work, i got it up to 200k and it drove to the scrapyard and across the scale. The rest of the car rotted away around it.
looks great you forgot to put in the cut line for the trunk, but great update other than thatm redo the front redsign and put head lights from r34 gtr but just modernize them
Not feeling this one, sorry 🫤 I mean, I agree that the tail lights should definitely look like that, but I'd say they should have looked like that back in 2004, so it's not screaming modern to me. I think blending some classic elements into the 04 body style would have rendered someone closer to what modern designers have been up to for the last decade. Love the channel though, lots of awesome projects on here that really stimulate the imagination!
To badge it as a Super Sport. Should be an LS v8 with Rear wheel drive and (option) for 6 speed manual. Then it could actually be a Mans car with good power... and no Torque steer Front Wheel drive garbage.
Love the redesign, I just wish Chevy wouldn't have used an iconic name for a car that could never live up to the original. That goes for all car manufacturers using iconic names for crappy representations of cars that are universally awesome. Ex. 1967-1969 Camaro and the 1964 1/2 - 1968 Mustang (1969 was ok, just started the massive cliff that was the 70's and 80's mustangs)

This is the only time I'd prefer the old one, to be honest. The way you slap those low-profile rims on every redesign just screams impractical and anti-OEM in some ways. Good luck getting over bumps on the road with those wheels. The gtr taillights were a lazy stunt, not gonna lie, should've gone with something more unique. Otherwise, seems quite well done.
Now that's what I call a RE design... It's looks Killer !!! Damn !!!! And use RWD chassis from the defunct Chevy SS Awesome and brrrmm brmm from a V8 The GTR lights; love it ....they seem like it belongs there

Man GMC ruined the latest Impala. I drove one and it was so slower than the older 3800 v6. The steering was way loose and not responsive. And honestly the interior is a bit lacking. GMC needs to bring back the Impals better than ever because Americans still adore the Impala💯

I currently have one as a backup car. 2004 base with 160k. Still runs and drives smooth as if it had 20k miles. Very reliable car.
