Whenever a review lists non-conventional controls as a negative, I ignore it. The whole selling point of the game is the simultaneous control playstyle, why would I want it to be different? That said I’m pretty happy with the positives showcased here. Pretty sure I’ll love this game just like I loved okami and the other Bayonetta titles.
Reminds me a little of Wonderful 101 reviews where some reviewers just didn't seem to care about learning how the game works before pushing a review out.
Why? Being unconventional doesn’t mean it’s executed well. I’d say you could grant some leniency, because it might be harder/easier for people to adjust with unconventional controls, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t valid criticisms to be made. Plus, he didn’t even list it as a carte-blanche “these controls are bad, replace entirely”. If you listened to the review, he said he _liked_ the controls during the puzzles sections. It’s just the fights where it gets confusing and cumbersome, and that sounds like a fair, understandable criticism. At the very least there’s enough fights where he has the experience to make that argument.
I still don't know why so many developers have been adding such tiny text. It's really annoying for people who also sit a distance away from the TV. I once literally had to get up off the couch and squint my eyes to read something from a game because my boyfriend and I couldn't read it. It's utterly ridiculous in some of these games.
It is quite strange how awkward the combat is considering how Bayonetta is known for it. That said, it does seem exciting how metroidvania-like this is. Hopefully this isn't a one and done thing and they improve upon it in the future.
My brain can't handle two characters at once, it's why I never finished Astral Chain. The thought of doing it again is giving me anxiety, so sounds like I'll have to pass on this one.
oh man, the combat reminds me a lot of summoner hero types in MOBAs where you control the hero and the pet at the same time. it's challenging at first but I enjoyed it at the same time. you'll get the hang of it after awhile. this game is a sneaky couch coop for my non-ambidextrous friends
You can get used to them… but it doesn’t make the experience any better or interesting than using standard controls. I forget, but I think it made the dogfights worse. It’s neat option for a co-op mode, but it’s not a positive addition. It felt like another Star Fox/64 remake, but with random controls shoehorned in. Because it pretty much was. At least Star Fox Guard used the gamepad well and was fun without any sort of stipulation.
Starfox zero was amazing, very underrated. I'm expecting Nintendo to remaster starfox zero with more polish, traditional controls, more planets and online dogfighting. They do that im all in.
The only thing I'd take away from it is that people would be interested in it to begin with...you'd think after Bayo 3 the series would be taken out back and shot
Bro just trying to give a constructive advice... games are not a checklist of like and dislike. They are much more than that, this type of review format is kinda pretty bad. Also what this game does for you? like, how it affected you beyond just "oh art is great, combat confunsing" what the game make you feel, what it was trying to convey.
That second part seems like it would fit more in an in depth review of the game, something a hardcore fan would make. Doubt casual people watching a review would care about that part since they just wanna know: is it fun to play?
If I had a nickel every time Platinum made an action game where you control 2 characters at once in an action game, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's still weird they did it twice. This and Astral Chain.
honestly, I'm gonna have to skip this one. Bayonetta 3 was dismantled everything I liked about the series and left me with a very negative final impression. and this does nothing to rekindle my interest in the series. maybe it'd be interested if this was a new franchise, but it just feels nothing like Bayonetta. I guess that's how Metroid fans felt with Federation Force.
It always amuses me hearing "this is kinda like a metroidvania" when a game features "path blocked until you get an upgrade" Like, Pokemon Red and Blue had that in the form of HMs, were they metroidvanias?

I really enjoyed my time with the demo. Can’t wait to dive into it.
Saaaaaame, I'm so excited!
Bruh I just want Jeanne to be fully playable in Bayo 3
My only complaint after playing the demo is that the text is too small. A 20% larger text size would be better for handheld play.

if the text is too small for your eye too see why don’t u wear big ass bifocal glasses so u can see better
@@stevenjohnson8736 You’re a genius. Video games could have microscopic text that requires binoculars to read. That would be so much more immersive.
The fairy circus reminded me of Nier Automata!🤝
Most of your cons are pros for me. I don't like puzzles and I like alot of combat.
I love them both. 👌

I’m so freakin hyped just to play this game this Friday on my switch oled 😃
Did you check out the demo? Holy hell it's absolutely gorgeous on the oled. Can't wait to play the whole game.
@@tadeusticeghostal im not gonna check out the demo im just gonna wait to this Friday and check it out myself got 2 more days left 😃
@@tadeusticeghostal is the gameplay any good
It's beautiful on the OLED screen for sure. I've just finished the demo and had fun with it.. might use the voucher I have for the full game.

How long is the entire game in terms of hours?
I liked Star Fox Zero, the motion controls weren't all that bad, I was able to get used to them fairly quickly.

I love starfox zero, the controls make it a much better game
Well for the first chaotic Con....you actually play CO OP !! PROBLEM SOLVED !!
Can you confirm which Bayonetta this is? or will that spoil the ending?
The only thing I'd take away from it is that people would be interested in it to begin with...you'd think after Bayo 3 the series would be taken out back and shot
It is very pretty that's for sure

Probably nothing, that's why he didn't talk about it.
Start your own youtube channel lol
True
He was confused, what didn’t you understand? 😂

This is Great , I like it
As someone desperate for something new, I'm excited for all the stuff that Joey has umbrage with haha!
"The combat is bad because I wasn't very good at it" is not a review, lol.
Great review! Good to finally hear someone give a more realistic review including stuff you didn't like.

This and Astral Chain.
okay first off how did you get the game so soon
The combat reminds me of playing as V in DMC 5!
Messy combat more like skill issue
I wonder how this is as an entry into the Bayonetta games, before the trilogy?
She is a child, what do you think?

Federation Force honestly was a pretty good game though, (just not really a metroid game) :V
I just make my husband help me with all the combat by playing the second player
The demo literally put me to sleep
Hideki Kamiya blocked you? I am calling for a boycott.... no wait, never mind, that just boost sales LoL
Gonna skip this, not my cup of tea
Man, I thought this was an early April fools.
Platinums gimmick of controlling two characters is getting very old quickly. They need new ideas for their games
I find it funny the creator blocked you for asking a question... but I guess all of Twitter is toxic...except for fake good vibes and being on top
ITS 12 HOURS!!!! ONLY?!?! 👀👀
Damn
I mean, Metroid Dread is technically only 10 hours long. Length isn’t everything.
@@RaFaPilgrim and it’s just as good surprisingly
Length doesn't really mean anything
It took me over 2 hours to finish the demo, so for me it’s probably more like 24 hours.

Why did he block you??
Very hard to listen to
git gud lol
