Not true. Littler hit 50+ % on his doubles. If he throws first he wins. Stop lying and hating it’s embarrassing. If MVG had the same stats as the rydz match he might have been 2-2 but he couldn’t hit his doubles. He was put under pressure every time he had the throw. Essentially he bottled under pressure. Coulda woulda shoulda springs to mind.
Correct, as was MvGs in his pomp. Plus this idea that “20 players could win it” was absolute nonsense. When it comes down to long format matches there is barely a handful of players that have it in them at the moment.
@mccann82 there's more competition now but I feel like the best players 10 years ago are better than the best players now. Prime mvg, prime anderson , phil taylor, a strong Peter wright, adrian lewis . Very easy to loose with 110 average.
Luke littler has averaged over 100 in 9 out of 12 matches in the world championships already. I think you will find his scoreing power is as good if not better than Taylor and littler is only 17 yet.
@@johnlarkin3020 Taylor and MvG have tournament winning averages higher than Littler, it’s just a basic fact. Of course he can improve in the future but to say it’s better than those two is just wrong.
To good ?!?! If I am correct it was Van Gerwen who just played crap in those first four sets... Littler's game was not special, just around the hundred average.... Those are averages that both gentlemen can throw with their eyes closed.... The fact that Van Gerwen could not hit those numbers and that he missed 85% of his doubles in those first few sets made the difference.... (It remains a big "if" of course, but if Michael would have played like he did against Rydz, it would have been 4-0 for him after four sets.) Compliment for Littler on winning this title, but it was one of the worst World Championships I've seen since the first World Championship back in the seventies (BDO era) ..... Very low averages during the entire tournament, and most seeded players where already out of the tournament before they reached the 4th round....

It became that bad, that he had to make the decision, or to stop playing or surgery... He did the latter a few months ago, and it is only four weeks ago that he started training again... I do not know how you call it in English... Muscle memory ? But that is what Michael is missing currently, and is the reason why his game is not consistent yet... This will improve again in the upcoming months, and hopefully we'll have a Michael van Gerwen who for the first time since end 2022 can play pain free again... Littler is a nobody compared with the stars of the dart sport... Not even allowed to be named in the same sentence as Taylor and van Gerwen yet... I do not say that this will not change in the future, but we don't have that guarantee... He can brake his hand tomorrow and never come back at the same level... Thus at this moment he remains just one of the many who won one world title...
and if littler played like he did at the grand slam he would’ve won 7-0.they both played with their b game difference is littler’s b game is better right now
