Took my grandma to see this and I was floored. I cried like a baby after the opening number, not because it's sad but because the spectacle just overwhelmed me that much. Not a single mediocre performer in the entire cast. When it was over, my grandmother who has polio and can hardly walk, well, she FLOATED out of that theatre. I guess that's why I keep watching these videos. I'm still trying to relive some of the magic from that amazing day.
@queen2105 Adam Jacobs is playing Aladdin. Most of the "new" songs were written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken for the original movie, but cut when the storyline changed. There are a couple songs written by Alan Menken and the book writer Chad Beguelin as well.
@5thAvenueTheatre Thanks! I know that there will be songs from the original movie and those that were cut. When I asked about the new songs...I meant...did Alan write something new (specially for the musical) p.s. I know who wrote all the songs for the original movie ;)

This show was spectacular, saw it last semester on a college trip.
Courtney Reed was AMAZING in In The Heights as Nina, Carla, & Vanessa, she'll be AMAZING in this too!

@queen2105 Yes. He wrote 3 new songs with Chad Beguelin named "A Million Miles Away," "Somebody's Got Your Back," and "A Royal Wedding."
