- There is no room for weakness in the world of The Witcher. Its history is full of bloody places where the stronger man wins and survives. People like the witcher Geralt of Rivia can do so. But what about ordinary humans? Or the elves, who did not prepare for the war and got it on their heads. General Raupenneck leads his troops into the elven cities. He will spare no one... And even the sorcerers will not help. They are too busy with their own war and their own capital.

Why were humans so cruel in the war with the elves?
My Witcher lore knowledge is lackluster and rusty but didn’t Elves long ago, have Humans as.. less then slaves, playthings and servants..? And were cruel themselves? That could be half of the reason along with Human nature being the other half.
Because Andrezj Sapkowski loves that kind of thing.
Nope dou switched that up only the Aen Elle do and we don't know when they started and the humans bare a few exampled do not know anything about that either.@@cjthebeesknees
Cos elves are annoying and dwarses are short
It's a self perpetual cycle of violence that every colonial empire/kingdom inflicts on everything they don't find remotely familiar
The conflict between the humans and elves has always been one of my favourite aspects of the Witcher world. They have such a cruel yet complex relationship with each other. Thank you as always for another amazing video master Witcher
I finished watching other videos just yesterday 😮 What a luck!
I really like listening to you
Milan Raupenneck is a Redanian hero.
Amazing work, you deserve more subscribers.
You can absolutely criticize some aspects of human society within the witcher universe but their entire marshal prowess is so badazz . The devastation of their marshal arts and its effectiveness are second to none.
I want to push back on something. It's unfair to suggest the persecution of Elvenkind was due to the cruel nature of humans because we don't know that. Most of human history is lost in the Witcher, for all we know they might have been slaves to the Elves, for example, it's not like they're particularly virtuous either, especially the Aen Elle. It might be that humans are blood thirsty bigots or it might be that their reasons are more complex. Just keep the absence of history in mind before drawing conclusions and making sweeping assumptions.
I feel like the whole point of the slaughter and bloodshed theme was to illustrate that a cycle of violence self perpetuates itself regardless of race or species
