This is another beautiful work of Roseth. He makes nice and useful axe from trash, a rebar and a bearing ball. It is his first time ever but the result is awesome.

Some forms of rebar actually have a decent carbon content, I’d guess the steel was tested before used. Additionally, that a slightly lower carbon content is more economical than that of knife steel, as steel hardened the same as knife steel would crack and maybe shatter with the greater impact force a hatchet/axe experiences. I’d bet you this would hold an edge better than most husky axes you can buy from home depot today

I read that rebar steel was simply not usable as a tool steel and that it would never hold an edge. But it looks like it will stay sharp for a little while. What the heck.
