Same here. Either that or I go Druid/naturalist. Last Epoch does both really well. It's an ARPG so that's the extent of the gameplay but they do it right.
necromancers are def my fav class in games, or movies/shows i just love the idea of being able to summon different creatures, i have a game idea that when you kill a creature, it becomes one of your army that you can summon, i want a game like that so baddd
Undead being healed by necrotic spells is not unique to Divinity Original Sin. I’m not sure how and if it was implemented in Baldur’s Gate 3, but in tabletop D&D, undead (regardless if it’s ally or foe, or which type of undead it is) get healed by necrotic spells and damaged by healing spells. Undead have a strong tie to the Negative Energy Plane, so any positive effects hurts them severely, especially if those effects are produced by a cleric’s faith. Regular physical attacks and elemental magic does usual damage, though most have resistance to ice spells and they may be weaker to fire spells, especially if they are corporeal, due to their unliving state.
u put baldurs gate 3 there - which is a fucking terrible example of a "necromancer" game because u can summon some skellies(but have no rp about it for the most part) , and ignored pathfinder wotr , in which you can quite literally become a lich , raise fallen alies and enemies as undead , and quite literally have an entire rp experience about you being a necro ?
Think the list was more focused around commanding the undead. While, yes, you are possessed by a spirit, at least in part, you are not actually commanding the undead as much as commanding orcs. Do agree that it is a grey area though.
Honestly, these clips are terrible choices to show necromancers in the games you're talking about. There is so much content and so many videos that show these aspects of the games and you chose clips that had almost no necromancer play
@@hoorsbunker1250 nah it’s fine. Having a bunch of summons isn’t the only part of being a necro. Also you can just slap on 3 sets with pets on proc and you pretty much have a summoner.
@@Hxlst yeah i get that necromancy isn't just summons, but i feel like they need to do more with the corpses other than their bodies just being used for a quick spell
This video barely shows any relevant gameplay but I do appreciate the list.
Last Epoch Necro mastery is insanely good if you're cool with an ARPG
Undead or dark magic users are by far my favorite playable classes.
One that no game has properly done justice.

Yeah, they give us 1 or 2 skeleton only 😅
@@Witch-King-9 Diablo 4 has a good posse of skeletons, and a big ass golem too. Story is mid, but combat is Diablo, so that'll always be decent.

Guild Wars 1 has a dramatically better Necromancer than the sequel.
Agreed. The GW2 necro feels off.

The Heroes of Might and Magic franchise has had Necromancers as a faction since the second game.
Maybe next time show some actual gameplay of the said class instead of cutscenes and trailers.
V rising has Necromancy

Iratus: Lord of the Dead is a great necromancer strategy game.
That is exectly what I was looking for!
How could you not mention "Middle Earth: Shadow of War"???

Any games with first or third person view?
Middle earth Shadow of war
The unliving offline??
I'd put grim dawn on #1
Necro in D2 was horrible lol! Was the ONLY class I never beat the game with.
That's a skill issue. Summon necro is the easiest class to beat the game with
Next episode 😢😢😢😢

Show us how the necromancer character works lol
Huh? You put Skyrim and DOS2 here and not ESO or Vermintide?
Eso’s necromancer doesn’t really feel like a traditional necromancer tbf, they kinda fumbled the class
