This scene proves my point…in Follow That Dream Elvis shows the full range of his acting from brilliant comic ability to this scene which shows his serious acting ability. Thank you Rick
Elvis should have got some awards for his acting during his life he was great in many films many of his movies are underrated he gave many great acting performances and had versatility Elvis was a great actor I'm glad some people know have a blessed day
The most amazing thing about this scene is Elvis does his part all in one take. One minute and 20 seconds of dramatic dialogue with no cuts. I didn't recognize that until recently. This is proof that Elvis was a very talented actor.
Elvis was a great actor!! 👍 This movie was so good, a common sense one!! One of my favorites!! Elvis was a very talented man, the best singer in the world and certainly the most handsome!! Plus he brought more joy 😊 and happiness to his fans than anyone I know!! RIP ELVIS you 😢 will remain in our hearts 💕 and memories forever!! 🙏🌟👑🤗🇺🇸⚡
He was really great as an actor in that scene.Lee Strasberg, the celebrated dmatic coach of the most illustrious talents of theater and films told colleagues that Elvis was a great talent going to waste (Lee Strasberg).
OK… that was an amazing scene from Elvis, an amazing soliloquy delivered perfectly that nearly all modern actors couldn’t perform without an amazing amount of work beforehand in one shot wow … what a talent !
Elvis was a great actor, he was fit for all genres that other known actor doesn't. most of his movie also has an everlasting effect because they are entertaining.
I was just in this courtroom today. This scene was filmed at the Inverness Courthouse in Inverness, Florida and now the courthouse is part of a historical museum. Everything from arrowheads to Elvis! Worth a visit
Terrific acting and some of that goes to the screenwriters. Those words were a natural fit for the character and they sounded authentic. Plus a clever plot twist.
Haven't watched these films in 50+ yrs. Loved Elvis in different types of roles that weren't beach blanket bingo.. Sadly, he had a lot more to give ( in acting) and probably ( in hindsight) guided wrong... R.I. Paradise young Elvis💜
I recently added this to my Elvis collection having never seen it until last month. What an amazing job Elvis did in the film. Movies like this just aren't made anymore which is a true shame. To say that I love the film is an understatement. I've watched it at least 20 times. Thank goodness justice is served.
One of my favorite parts too Rick. I watched it last night and was thinking Elvis was a magnificent actor. I read once( I think it was from Scotty's channel)that Elvis memorized every word for his part in every movie he starred in..and everyone else's part too. He was brilliant. Thank you for sharing. ⚡TCB ⚡
Omg how in this scene Toby the character paralleled with Elvis the person, speaking out for and standing up for those who couldn't do it for themselves. This scene alone proves that when given a script with substance Elvis could deliver. His acting skills were to me very much underrated, this a hard hitting poignant scene that had to be delivered with the utmost bellievability and conviction and Elvis accomplished this with great aplomb. Throughout the whole movie his acting skills were put to the test with both his comedic timing and serious dialogue , a test he passed to me with first class honours. Thanks Rick, such a powerful unforgettable scene.
From the time I was 8 in 1964 till 1977 there was God and Elvis in my life! I knew all his movies and the songs to every sound track! Elvis taught. me to sing! So much so it took me a long time to find my own voice as a vocalist. He was and still is the King!
This demonstrates Elvis could act and very well. I think Elvis' problem was that he suffered boredom during these films. They became a chore. He certainly could act out a song better than anyone else.
I love watching this scene, I loved this movie. Elvis showed so many varying acting abilities. How sad, that despite the clear signs of a great actor, the gave Elvis for the most part, bum movies. As Elvis once said when over hearing a conversation between Hal Wallis and another. Hal Wallis was asked why he kept making these movies (B-Movies) rather than A-Movies. He turned round and said because these pay for those. Elvis turned to Hal Wallis and said, 'When do I get to make my A-Movie Mr Wallis?' Elvis wasn't stupid he new the games that were being played out at his expense. It is a great shame that Parker couldn't see beyond the money. It also show how little he new when he sold out Elvis to the movies. He left Elvis completely in the hands of the movie mongrels with no say on the scripts or even the quality of songs that he was forced to sing. Elvis in fact didn't want to sing in the movies, but that changed right from the get go. 'Love Me Tender' was originally entitled 'The Reno Brothers' and had no songs in it. But with the potential to take advantage of Elvis singing in the film, they changed the title and added in several songs to the movie. And it was a box office smash. And after that, there were songs in every movie. At least enough to fill an album. Then when Blue Hawaii had so much success, that became the formula. All that changed from then on was the location and any chance of a serious film career for Elvis was gone. And sadly the fans can take some of the blame for that. Any serious film prior to Blue Hawaii never made as much money as a film packed with songs. Elvis never stood a chance. And what is even sadder is that when Elvis returned to live performances, any attempt to introduce new songs didn't go down well with the fans. They for the most part just wanted to hear the old hits. So Elvis stopped adding to his repertoire. Elvis at one point, even went as far as having a request box put out asking which songs fans would like him to perform. Once he got the general idea, his performances were kept pretty much to the same song listing. Little wonder he got bored. Wouldn't you sing the same songs night in and night out, performance after performance. Thankfully he did manage to fit the odd new song in. TCE
I'll say this again, Elvis's accent is hard to figure out. It isn't southern as such. When you compare it to Red and Sonny West's accent, the difference is very noticeable. Those guys were from Memphis but elvis was from Mississippi originally and his father and mother spoke the same way (there's an audio interview of them). Others insist that he sounds very Southern but to me it's not exactly Southern.
Its definately one of his better acting movies as he isnt Elvis in the movie like Colonel Sanders lol always made him a clown but Elvis is actually acting in the is film
ELVIS was an excellent actor , singer and entertainer in general 🥇🕺💎
Elvis was a great actor.!!!
Was für schöner Film wieder mit Elvis! Er ist schön und kann alles, singen und schauspielen, und tanzen.Super Elvis! 👍👍👍💋💋💋👍👍👍💋💋💋👍👍👍
Every kind of camera loved him as much as we still do. 👑
Elvis was a wonderful human being
This just shows he COULD act. He was also very funny.
Thanks Diana... he never received the credit that he was due for roles like this
Do you think this role could have been the inspiration for Jethro Bodine? His country boy thing and his doing the multiplication tables like Jethro?
No one will ever make me be believe that Elvis wasn't an actor! This was a great scene! Loved this movie. 💕💕
This movie was wonderful, Elvis was amazing in it. So underrated as an actor 💜
This scene proves my point…in Follow That Dream Elvis shows the full range of his acting from brilliant comic ability to this scene which shows his serious acting ability. Thank you Rick
You are very welcome....
Elvis teve um ótimo Financeiro, porém, um péssimo Empresário!!
Elvis, you were a good Man to everyone. So sincere in everything he did . Thank You. 🇦🇺🦘💯🙋♀️❤❤
Elvis is the king forever n ever
Elvis as always wanted to be a great actor as well as singer and he did both always love him ❤

He was a good actor, it's people who feel the need to criticise him who say otherwise.
It's also nice to see him with his natural hair colour.
Elvis was blonde.
Good bit of acting, , 👍🇬🇧♥️🇺🇲
BABY ME LOVE 💘 💕 ❤ ALL MY ELVIS FILMS MY BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS ELVIS BEAUTIFUL VOICE BEAUTIFUL LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL ALWAYS YOURS ❤ MARGO
I has been said that Elvis couldn't act. YThis was the best scene in the movie. A great piece of acting if you ask me.
Love Follow That Dream , one of my favorites to watch ! Great scene in the movie. This scene gets to me every time I watch it !
there were a lot of people in the world who did not think elvis was a good actor, but he was in his own way.
He was really great as an actor in that scene.Lee Strasberg, the celebrated dmatic coach of the most illustrious talents of theater and films told colleagues that Elvis was a great talent going to waste (Lee Strasberg).
Everyone that met Elvis in Yankeetown, Florida, said the same thing. A really nice guy.
One of my favorite movies

My fave movie Elvis in that scene a great actor love it thank you Rick the Twins so lovely 💕
Terrific acting and some of that goes to the screenwriters. Those words were a natural fit for the character and they sounded authentic. Plus a clever plot twist.
Great clip - the only time I have ever seen Elvis acting naturally.
Haven't watched these films in 50+ yrs. Loved Elvis in different types of roles that weren't beach blanket bingo.. Sadly, he had a lot more to give ( in acting) and probably ( in hindsight) guided wrong... R.I. Paradise young Elvis💜
Watched it this weekend , it stands up , good entertainment

It's my favorite of all his and the first movie I saw at the theater in 1962....😁
Just added to my collection. Absolutely wonderful!

When you think about it, remembering words came naturally to him especially when he sang! Lovely manly voice when speaking as well as singing.
This is a great and all the haters let’s see you you go up there and grab a guitar or not then just blow everything out of the water with one song.
I became an Elvis fan while watching that movie.
BEAUTIFUL!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
Hi Rick,
Great clip from follow that dream.
Hope the move is going well.

Brilla con luz propia..me encantaría ver esta película en castellano..pero desgraciadamente no está disponible..😔😔😔
Wonderful acting in that film drama. Thanks✌️👼♥️👑♥️🫶🌞
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned !
Great example !
" No fury like a woman scorned"! "Or an out-of-control teleprompter"!
I'll have to look up this movie.
This demonstrates Elvis could act and very well. I think Elvis' problem was that he suffered boredom during these films. They became a chore. He certainly could act out a song better than anyone else.
I agree, T.M., it got to be a chore for him and no fun. This movie is my Favorite...he definetley had the chops for acting...Thanks

MINDS TOO THIS IS ACTING
Elvis always wanted to be an actor like his hero James Dean , he should have done more straight acting films.
Psychologists need a test themselves. I don't believe in Psychologists. A lot of them should treat themselves first. 😆😆😆
I don't trust a lot of them!!!
🤠😂 👏 👏
4:20 In your Face you
