Thorsons have always been interesting to me (even though I've never had one). So, your review here is very helpful and entertaining. As always, I appreciate the tear-downs. That "hex-ping" at the ball detent may attest to this rachet's antiquity.
That's a very unique ratchet. The blank plates would be a good idea to put on a nodern day ratchet. It would make for a very nice engraved Father's Day gift.
I have a husky similar I believe a 50s model pear-ish head but instead of raised panel blanks they’re indented if I recall properly the only markings are on the head! Like wise I have the round knurled version of this! One of my first restorations so by default one of my favorites!
@@snapringchronicles3020 mine has a raised panel on one side but the other side was ground smooth. Probably by a previous owner, but it was a good job, so might have been factory. The ball detent has a traditional round peen.
Looks like a Pre -Casting body for different types of Ratchets that's looks very similar to a round headed Craftsmans Ratchet Casting was very poorly done Thorsen tools were just weekend warrior tools not even close to pro tools quality ... It was interesting to see a Ratchet like that ... Great video take care and enjoy your week
That's a cool one. Awesome stuff brother. Thank you for the video and all the effort. I appreciate it.
I appreciate you stopping by👍

Hey thanks for stopping by again my friend 👍
Reminds me of a Truecraft ratchet.
Yeah it does👍
Interesting.... great info.... thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching dude👍

Yeah they did shine up those plates pretty good 👍
There's one on the big auction site right now with that body style.
Yeah I just looked and seen it. They must have just put that up. It confirms the body is legit Thorsen 👍
These aren't common, but i have definitely seen one before.
Hey thanks for verifying that👍
Great videos. Love your channel. Definitely an odd ratchet.
Glad you enjoy it!👍
Interesting stuff! Never seen one like this before.
Me neither. That’s what got me intrigued 👍
Interesting find. Never saw one of those before. I prefer flat handles, for unknown reasons. Maybe because I like the Plomb pebbles so much.
Yeah those Plomb’s are nice👍

Hey that’s a nice find 👍
I found one! Took months.
Welcome to my world lol👍

At one time they had some pretty damn good combo wrenches, but otherwise yes they were pretty much Homeowner tools.
Yeah basic users but the tolerances in the mechanism seems pretty decent👍
