We are from Tennessee Mr. Ausserbauer. All of our family are dead, except for my 84 year old mother and I. I was sitting back here one night, Trying hard to get close to your rendition, when she came in, with tears in her eyes, telling me how much she loved that song, how much it had meant to her and my dad (they had been married 59 years when he died) and how much she enjoyed hearing me play it. wow, I hadn't played it in years, had no idea that it would make her happy, I owe you. It was a God thing that You posted this, and I found it. You made a very old wonderful lady, very happy. Thank you!
Certainly clears up a lot of misconceptions about the C-melody. One of these would be a worthwhile addition to any sax player's arsenal. The C-melody offered by Aquilasax sounds great and is not horribly expensive.
If imitation really the most sincere form of flattery, then I have flattered the living daylights of you. Boots Randolph made me drop the trumpet like a hot rock. Alas he is no longer among us, but left me with a lifelong love affair with the Tenor sax. In 1969, in my family, we searched long and hard for a sax we could afford, and it turned out to be a Conn Alto, that was 2 days older than God, and had more leaks, than a screen door on a submarine It took me to 6 years in the #1 band in the state, as 1st chair, and to 6 years of all region, (but not enough to make all state) Later on, in the Navy, it kept me sane (relatively) and several other men who got together on the fantail of the Eisenhower, and just free jammed. anyway, back to the point, I love your playing, and your videos, please keep em coming. If I may make a request, I would love to hear you play "You Belong To Me" and "I'll be seeing you" by Jo Stafford.
Hi Joe, first of all thanks for your wonderful comment. Maybe I'll record the Stafford tunes in the future. Know them and like them. And what I like most are your words "It took me to...". I too use to think that it's the horn that took and takes me to all kind of places ;-)
Of Course, I like it Even if the slow valse style is very few used today. But however, you serve this song so well. it is delightfull. Thanks Chordially
Very well played. Thank you for sharing and providing me with some inspiration and great techniques. Looking forward to learn more from you and your style.
Interesting, to say the least. Nice performance! Had a Beuscher in almost new shape. It was like a car that had 50 miles on it when it was put away. Sold it dammit. Never gave it a chance. USA NH
Michael, I love your rendition of Tennessee Waltz. I liked You Were Always On my Mind too. Keep them coming. Will you take request as well? I have some, if you do.
Thank you, Michael. I will list a few, in case you may not have the back track music to some or all of them. Thanks again. Unchained melody You don't have to say you love me Everything I own (Bread) You needed me (Ann Murray) Fascination (movie theme) Without you
Srdečně Vås zdravīm. Právě jsem vyslechla tuto Vaši nådhernou hru na ten kouzelný nåstroj saxofon a nemohu jinak, než poděkovat za tu přījemnou chvilku při nī stråvrnou. Anna
Mr. Ausserbauer, first off, you are awesome! Thank you for posting. I am madly in love with that c melody tenor, but am having a time finding one, I went to their website, but couldn't find a price list, may I ask where you got yours?
do you mind if I ask what m/p reed setup you are using? I've been trying to get this sound since the 70's. I used a Brillhart 5c on my tenor back then, and my band director said it sounded like a duck call, LOL I liked that sound, and still play it on tenor, have a 5c and 7c for my alto per his direction, I also have Sigurd Rashers for both horns for a more refined sound
Thanks. Made it up myself. But that was years ago and since then my computer has changes many times. Don't even know if I still have it. And then perhaps only as midi. I can try to find it.

Belíssima sonoridade no sax C -Melody.
Obrigado 🙂
This is a lovely melody! Never heard it on the C melody before, but you give it real character. Well done.
Superb interpretation of the classical Tennessee Waltz.
Thanks Roberto ;-)

Great performance. I enjoyed it. Roy
You're talented. I loved it.
Prima Ton. Danke ein Posaunist

Espectacular....como siempre
Gracias Javier!
Nice sound and very good intonation. It sounds more like a tenor. Usually I think the C Melody sounds more like an alto.
Thanks for the comment. I always found the C-Mel to be closer to the tenor. But maybe it's just because I like to play it that way.
Belíssima valsa, e magistral execução! PARABÉNS!!!
Obrigado Milton 😉

Hi Joe, I got mine from Aquila but I guess they are out of business. The chinese who made them for Aquila still keep making them.
they still have an active website, I'll keep chasing them, thank you for the reply.

Ist das Lebayle Studio #9 ein Alto? Das klingt sehr schön auch dem Melody.....
Nein, ist das Tenormundstück. Thx für den Kommentar 😉
