- I knew that was a good signal and so glad I went back for it.
I have been metal detecting this cellar hole out in the woods the last few days and it has been amazing because it was untouched. Nobody has ever metal detected this place and the finds have been great and easy. Settled and lived upon from the late 1700s up into the early 1800s and then abandoned and deserted for centuries but there are coins and relics in the ground. I have dug up King George II, Connecticut copper, dandy buttons, shoe buckles, thimble, cufflinks and just a great variety of colonial artifacts. So the signs I left behind and came back to today was intact a coin and a CT copper not a KGII which I will show you how to identify on your metal detector by the numbers as I d on my Fisher F19. This is one of the best old places I have found metal detecting in a long time and it took a lot of exploring, hiking and reading the landscape history to win this one.
