@9:50, a little trick I learned long distance hiking: instead of coming in from the top of the loop to grab the pole, run your hand up the pole thru the loop, such that the strap is AROUND the thumb area and running between the palm and pole (essentially opposite of your grip in the video).. Gripping the pole this way will give you more leverage when planting the pole and thru it’s full range of motion. Bonus: when your grip is tired, the straps hold the pole for you.
Great video. Only extra thing I'd recommend is microspikes to go on your boots in case you need to walk around icy parking lots and pavements before putting your snowshoes on. These traction devices can save you from a nasty fall. I go snowshoeing in the backcountry by myself, so I always have a backpack with some survival gear - probably not needed if you are just beginning.
Thank you for all of this funny but useful information! We are so excited to get out in the powder! We hike A LOT & won’t let winter stop us from exercising. :)
This comment makes me so happy!!! Have you been snowshoeing yet or you’re about to try it for the first time?! Either way, I’m so excited for you! Snowshoeing is definitely such an excellent way to get some solid exercise in the winter! Thank you so much for watching! ❤️
Hi Bruna! I believe you’re asking about this coat? If it’s a different one you’re referring to, let me know! www.the-house.com/rx3quin01tb20zz-roxy-snowboard-jackets?avad=273625_e26af2d7d If you use code: TheGearLady on TheHouse.com, you can get 10% off! 👊
Great question! If you purchase universal snowshoes they can fit on either foot! If they are designated for the right or left there will be a marking on it! Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks for being so open and upfront about your do and don’ts from such a humble perspective. And inspiring me to just get out there!!
You are so welcome! Thanks so much for watching, I hope you make it happen to get out, I’ve loved every second!
The cutest, funniest but the truest video about snowshoeing 101!
Ha! Thanks so much for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Just got a pair and hoping I can use them today. Only a couple inches on the ground right now, but there should be enough this afternoon.
Just now seeing this! I’m hoping you got to use them a few times now! Let me know how you liked snowshoeing! Thanks so much for watching!

You really got into it! I have not used poles to do this but I guess there is a good use for it.

Are there Left & Right feet for snowshoes? Asking for a friend.

If there are straps that hang over the edge, make sure they are on the outside and not the inside so you won't get them underfoot.
Don’t forget your gaiters
Boots?
You’re absolutely hilarious and beyond beautiful
