I have never liked Wish that much, but have liked it specifically out of the Gamekeeper Rock deck, which I think is a sleeper in the format and deceptively strong!
It's actually a reasonable card, and there's a version of the Rock which uses Gamekeeper that plays Growth to great effect. Maybe we should try it out in regular Rock as well!
I mean, is it worse than playing Deed alongside BoP? Call at least has Flashback! And about BoP being fixing, that's true, but if you rely on it as your fixing and it dies then it further accentuates your potential mana issues.
In order to get reliable colored mana for it you need to play somewhere between 12 Swamps or so (at least that's the math I've seen, I'm not a math person myself,) which kind of makes your mana even more biased towards Black and much more awkward in consequence. I think the real answer is City of Brass, but boy does it feel bad..
25:15 "The manabase sucks." If only Premodern was an unofficial format where there could be changes done without concern of Wotc and with the health of gameplay in mind. Alas no such luck, otherwise Zen fetches would be allowed.
As I said in another video where you made the same comment: mana bases for enemy color pairings were supposed to be bad back in the day, it was part of the flavor of MtG. They are "enemies" after all. Mana not being free (as it is in current Magic) is in my opinion one of the features of Premodern, and forces us to try to work around it and get creative in deckbuilding.
love the video and commentary ! learning so much thanks!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Living wish in Rock is amazing! Having dust bowl and city of brass on side board helps alot with mana aswell!

Also, Haunting Echoes is absurdly underrated
Strongly agree with this. It can end the game on the spot in a wide variety of matchups
sweet video dude!
Thank you!
I don't know much about this format, but it's fun to watch!
It really is! The more you play it and get into it the better it gets!
im a huge fan of echoes
@@mountainwalk Echoes is a fantastic card. Pretty underplayed, IMO, but BB is a real cost for sure.
Tom and Lanny's Phyrexian Rager troll campaign continues
I personally think it's legit, and the only troll is putting Birds and Walls in a midrange deck that aims to get the game into topdeck mode :P
@@fpawluszmtg you know what is a good top deck? Natural Order.
@@85mcarnold If you have green creatures in play it sure is!
Can Rampart Growth be a good idea for fixing the mana color problem?

Love Rock !!!
One of the most loved and nostalgic decks in the entire format ❤ It's also awesome how many different ways you can build and customize it! Super fun!
Is there anything better than an fpawlusz premodern video? No
Thank you so much!
Hidden gibbens is incredibly interesting!
Yeah, the Gibbons tech is very appealing to me in theory, but it's still unclear whether it actually works or not.
Playing Call of the Herd with Deed always feels a little suspicious - and yeah BoP is a bad top deck but the mana fixing is so vital!

Is the GB tainted land playable?

Sadly not in Rock as it’s really a green deck splashing black. If it was black splashing green it might be worth considering.
@@fpawluszmtg I also think CoB is the way to go but it hurts. It makes you even more vulnerable against wasteland
@@valentinesdayman Yup, it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation

Premodern! Only one game 😢
Yeah, sad that I didn't do too well this time around. But another PM video is coming out next week, so stay tuned!
Ok, let’s fix the manabase of The Rock. Hear me out: Tainted Pact.
I knew this was coming sooner or later...
that deck configuration is terrible.....
Sorry you didn't like it, best of luck with your endeavours!
