Personally I am not a BP fan (I have listen to most of their song from Spotify) but this albums is very good and their best, in my opinion. Shut it Down is so good with some other songs.

If you're interested in checking out another girl group album, I think you would seriously enjoy Dystopia: The Tree of Language by Dreamcatcher. They are known for their dark concepts and rock/metal influenced sound which is unique in kpop, but their music also incorporates hiphop, EDM, jazz, R&B, and more. Seeing how passionate you are about music, I would love hearing your insights on this album.

JENNIE is such an incredible artist. She's a phenomenal rapper with FIRE flow/delivery/cadence but then again, she's an INCREDIBLE vocalist! Her singing voice is so sultry/seductive (low key she might be my favorite voice in the group, honestly). Truly an ACE.

YES IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!
1. Jisoo's and Rosè's lyrics seem out of place with the production, but their vocals serve, particularly the bridge. Jennie's and Lisa's rap slay!
2. Shut Down is a title track for a reason! Loved the instrumentals, rapping, and vocal colors.
3. Favorite song off the album. 20/10 for everything: lyrics, vocal tone, beat, everything!
4. It isn't for me, but it's great they did something different (sound/genre wise) with superb lyrics.
5. Loved the lyrics, pov of the heartbreaker, but the sound wasn't for me.
6. Absolutely gorgeous, vocals, production, and lyrics. Second favorite song.
7. Great lyrics and sound, but I wished the cursing wasn't bleeped out.
8. Probably my third favorite. Though it feels rushed (production), the vocal colors were great.
Overall: BlackPink has thankfully grown, and I hope they continue, but at a faster pace because their comeback timeline is discouraging. This album shows how great they are when they work with their potential. If only there were more songs. 8.5/10

i really would like to see you react to some bts and blackpink movies documentaries. bts have 3 full movies with concert and back stage scenes also a lot of documentary series with interviews with the members where they talk about their problems and their emotions, it shows their persona. blackpink have only a movie but its also really good. love your reactions

Blackpink is my 1st fave kpop girl group and still is. My 2nd fave (6-girl) kpop girl group is Lapillus, who just debuted in June this year. They're surprisingly good for a debut group (vocals, song, dance, stage presence, and very diverse). Lapillus has members who are: Japanese, Chinese-American, and Filipino-American, similar to Blackpink, where Lisa is Thai. I hope you'll give their "hit ya" MV and showcase debut performance a listen. PS. I found your channel when you started reacting to Taylor Swift's songs/albums, and I'm so happy that you started listening to Blackpink too. More power!

their first album is absolutely amazing as well. in my opinion, this album really shows their "pink" side as it is more light and pop-ish. whereas their first album "the album" shows their "black" side because it has more of a edm and mysterious vibe. both albums are so good though! these girls work so hard on their music and put thought into every move they make. they truly deserve all the recognition in the world

They don't write their lyrics most of the time tho so it's not Lisa who's doing the wordplays since she doesn't have songwriting credits in the album still she does have a great flow . But Jisoo and Rosé are credited as co-writers of yeah yeah yeah . Jisoo is the member that writes the most out of everyone. Idk if they're the main writers of their solo songs.
Love BP to death. But this album was underwhelming for me. First time I feel that way about a BP album. But I've been waiting for 2 years so my expectations were high and they were not met 🤷♀️ Pink Venom, The Happiest Girl and Tally are my favorite so far. Really enjoyed Typa Girl too. Love the classical sample in Shut Down but I wish the production on the track was richer (the prechorus and bridge don't build any momentum imo).
Yeah Yeah Yeah and Hard to Love felt flat to me. And I don't like the chorus in Ready for Love.

You should react to Rina Sawayama. She's a Japanese/British musician. The production of her music is crazy and her songwriting is beautiful. I think you'd enjoy both her debut album SAWAYAMA (2020) and her second album Hold the Girl, which has just come out. FYI the albums are very different from each other while having elements that are characteristic of Rina.

I think you would enjoy a lot of k-pop, but I'm not sure how easy it would be for you to make reaction videos because the lyrics tend to be pretty basic and often times even kind of nonsensical. But there are a lot of really fun groups and songs! Some of my favorites are StayC, TXT, Twice, and Pentagon.
For Blackpink, for me their earliest songs are the best. They don't have a ton of music but it was their first songs that are super iconic.

This is their most versatile album and experimental while still maintaining that blackpink vibe. (Songs weren't as formulaic, which usually most of their singles follow same type of structure). The beats were good so they didn't have to do all that extra dance break thing. i feel like it isn't a blackpink song till lisa raps which she did on most and had some great singing lines as well. But they all really shined here. rose's voice is definitely my favorite and she had amazing vocals especially on the track where its just her. jisoo also came through with better vocals than i'm used to from her (maybe they mixed her voice differently idk). Jennie is always iconic whether she raps or sings, the umph any time she comes on the track is just so confident and that's girl boss. I really love that this album is called Born Pink because it really shows their "pink" side by the switch up of sound as the album went on. Tally is definitely one of my favorite because it has a good balance and i love the lyrics and just the whole melody. They really are a great group and have grown so much since they debuted in 2016. yeah, sadly yg dont make songs with very deep lyric songs for them, only basic ones. maybe if they let the girls work more in writing they songs it would be different

Yeah yeah yeah is still growing on me. Out of the whole album, it's the only song I don't really come back too. Like you said, the pre chorus is beautiful, and it's not like the chorus is bad, but all that expectation makes it disappointing a little. Hopefully my opinion will change in the future

I always love how in depth you analyze stuff. Quick correction, it's Rosé (meaning you pronounce the e like french). Her actual name is Roseanne, you kinda just drop the "n".
my opinion on born pink
pink venom - 6/10 (wasted potential: the chants in the beggining are REALLY cool and I loved that they came back in the back of the dance break! Could be cool sounding but i think they tried to match too much different stuff that didn't end up working. And the lyrics are meh throughout)
shut down - 8.5/10 (VERY GOOD!! Great energy and SO COOL SOUNDING WITH THOSE STRINGS. The lyrics in this one are way better from beggining to end, they sound powerful and sassy, not cringy. I don't even mind the one word repetition in the chorus in this one, works well)
typa girl - 2/10 (yeah, i didn't like the beat on this and the lyrics where meh. Rose sounded really good here tho)
yeah yeah yeah - 4.5/10 (I like the build up as well but then it sounds too generic for me)
hard to love - 5.5/10 (Rose sounds great and has great vocal moments in this one but i wouldn't put it on my playlist because it's nothing new in terms of the lyrics and being all english i probably have several songs like this there already)
the happiest girl - 9/10 (The stand out of this album, for sure, maybe too much lol The production is sweet, sad and cinematic. All the girls sound SO good, but Jisoo shines like,,, I'm speechless. This one was it for me)
tally - 6.5/10 (I was really into it the production and lyrics at first and I mean, those are still good, but it just gets repetitive, they all sing the same thing)
ready to love - 8/10 (very fun song, don't really have anything to say about this one ahah)

i hope u listen to more of blackpink! jennie and lisa have some singles out as part of their solo work (i know u already reacted to rosé), u could check those out to see what their identity as individuals is like. And jisoo's solo is coming, hopefully at least, it has been coming for the past idk 3 years
