I probably listened to this song a couple dozen times before realizing Maynard James fucking Keenan is singing on this track, no wonder it’s such a banger.
Chino's voice is similar to Maynard's sometimes. It's hard to tell in a few instances from this song, but an easy way to tell, is Chino's voice is rougher and basically has reverb on it(I may be wrong). Maynard's is soft and smooth, especially when he's yelling in every chorus.
I'll never forget the first time I heard this. 2005 or so in my sister's car and it was night time. I had never heard something so dark and haunting in my life, literally scared me. Safe to say, been a die hard fan of both Tool and Deftones ever since.
Like so many Deftones songs, the aesthetic is dark, but it's about sex. Amusingly this one is a duet between two men, so I guess there's that bit of subtext.

"Annihilation" was fucking dope though. I love Tool's version of Zeppelin's "No Quarter" though - I thought Adam Jones created a guitar phrasing out of Page's melody that was just next level. I still play that on my acoustic when I want to calm myself.

I found this band yesterday while listening to Jerry Cantrell and it was so awesome seeing this band featuring him. Now I found out they featured Maynard James Keenan and found this song. I think I found one of my new favourite bands.

i remember getting it the night of the release and they did a concert online to commemorate the record launch and the cd had the deftones white pony game that was pretty much PAC-man but was awesome because who would have thought to put a video game on a musical cd. I also remember hating this album at first only really enjoying a few songs initially but then you listen again, then again, then again, and then its in you forever. After all that White Pony is still my favorite deftones album. there was also like -6 different versions of the album, including the numbered digipack

Chino My plans changed instantly...I was with 3 of my friends, gave them my ticket and said do you know who that is? They had no clue....I got to see them play a set with like 25 people and they got to see a shitty team play the Reds.

i remember getting it the night of the release and they did a concert online to commemorate the record launch and the cd had the deftones white pony game that was pretty much PAC-man but was awesome because who would have thought to put a video game on a musical cd. I also remember hating this album at first only really enjoying a few songs initially but then you listen again, then again, then again, and then its in you forever. After all that White Pony is still my favorite deftones album. there was also like -6 different versions of the album, including the numbered digipack
