Romesh running into the lab and just obliterating the watermelon on the floor is still one of my favorite Taskmaster moments.

Right out the gate this show gave the people what they wanted: absolute, unpredictable, no holds barred insanity.
I loved Liza just cackling and running away after having Alex sit on the cake
You know she was holding that idea in the back of her mind since series 4's "Destroy this cake in the most beautiful fashion" task.
Liza is my image of what my mom would be like if she was a comedian
I swear, Bob's powerful stance and near-mechanical motion with the tissues gets me every time. An immaculate contestant

my favorite thing about jamali's attempt at the door task is that he looked surprised every time he stomped on a paint bottle and it exploded
I have to wonder if alex didnt regret setting this task in the lab xD
Jamali stomping on the paint bottle always makes me laugh really hard. The comedic timing is incredible.
The cake bit always makes me lol. The way she runs away giggling like a little girl was perfect.
still to this day I think Romesh and the watermelon explosion is my favorite moment of taskmaster. Pure genius
All these messes are glorious but anything involving Bob has that extra magic
Bob feels like a children's storybook character who somehow got stuck in our world by mistake. Like if Paddington Bear became a human and then went absolutely insane.
Jamali's door is really cool! The red and black looks like legit really cool roses!
That's what I thought! He was joking about it being abstract, but it genuinely is. It's super cool too.
It reminds me of a painting a character made in a game
I'm still rating Katherine's mess among the best highlights, it's like a scripted sitcom that keeps unravelling and getting worse with every minute
Ditto for Romesh just absolutely detonating the watermelon; absolute classic
At 10:16 you see Alex has to stop himself laughing damm he contains his laughter so well. How!!!!

OH. MY. GOD. I think the cake segment might be my new all time favorite.
I wish on the first task they did it in 2 parts, the reactions to the second task being given would've been class.
Liza calling Alex a greedy bottom after watching him sitting in the cake really is just the delicious cherry on top of this perfect moment. Will never not cry laughing at that task.

Jamali’s squirting everywhere was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time. Abstract art, never, but a classic.
It's amazing that the watermelon explosion was in the very first episode. We were truly blessed from the beginning

I have the problem Romesh had on a regular basis. Not often. A few months ago I drove from Jacksonville AR to Columbia MO with a bite of steak stuck in my esophagus. It didn't go down until over 24 hours later.
Utterly irrelevant, but Fort Smith, here. To try to bring some relevance, I don't have trouble swallowing food but my brother used to. He got a surgery where they literally stretched his esophagus and now he's fine. 🤷♂️
That's wild! Is a shrunken esophagus due to GERD or something else, possibly just genetics?
@@TroubleToby3040, my mother has had esophageal dilation. It was painful and didn't last but a couple of years. I just try to chew carefully and eat softer foods. That time I was tired of traveling and really hungry.
@@caedon6543, my mother has esophageal spasms. I haven't been formally diagnosed but suspect that's it. GERD is a very common cause but that's usually further down by the gastric valve.
Bulimia and overeating after bariatric surgery are also frequently seen to cause scarring.
Im American but this show is why i truly love British humor.

Always find Nish Kumar's baboon of a laugh as real as Jimmy Carr's is fake. I wouldn't mind a CD of it. I might even buy a CD player.

The music for the first task reminds me a lot of the normal pace version of the South Park theme by Primus (the version that plays at the end of the episode. The intro version is sped up)

I’m not a fan of the team tasks being mostly judged as 3 points for the winners, 2 points to the losers… all that for 1 point swing? Especially when one is clearly miles better than the other!
Nowadays the winning team usually gets 5 and the losing team 2 or 3, but yeah they were pretty unfair in series 5, especially when Nish and Mark won the Rosalind song task but only got 3 points
