    Great interview. Thank you for shedding some light on Natalie as the new headcoach of the Valkyries! I did not know her before, now I have a pretty good and positive understanding what she plans to do in the upcoming months and how she wants to devlop a team to be a real title contender in 5 years! Great job

    From what I know already, the new franchise is amazing -- great facilities and fan interest is off the charts. Looking forward to next season.

      I'm happy for Natalie but I couldn't finish watching the interview. I'm not trying to be a snob but too many use of the the word "like." Like like like. I guess it's a generational thing (I'm 53).

    I get teams like the sparks will want 1st draft pick (paige) But i think a brand new team with lets be honest bench players needs that 1st draft pick more. It would give the valkyries a base to build a team from over the next 5 years. The sparks had 2nd pick last season and they have a team already. As teams get to hold 6 players the valkyries are basically choosing average players. Maybe they can get lucky with a few unhappy players like smith. But they also bring problems as they usually are not the best teammates

      I agree. That's what the nfl generally does. You don't want a new big market team getting unlucky a few years in a row in the lottery and missing out on all the big names

    Leave it to an interviewer to bring up race. When he mentioned it, I thought, "Oh, yeah, she is Asian. I hadn't noticed.
    I tuned in to this interview to see if this is a quality hire that will upgrade the wnba. Period! I'm an old white guy who wishes the wnba was all about basketball and character.

    • @dude8273

      if she is solely hired for her race then she is rightfully and hopefully get fired for her incompetence. but she has proven herself to be an assistant coach for 2 time champion Aces. Being an Asian is part of her, from a language barrier to exceeding in a field that many Asians are not dominated in, so I don't see why you have a problem with that.

    If any ownership understands how to build a team around a fast paced game, it’s the Warriors management. Look at the name of the new team. Valkyrie means female warrior. Brilliant!!!!
    I’m sure she’ll get a lot of solid input from Steve Kerr, Steph and others and the marketing to build up the team. You need stars to market the team. They’ll get them. Imagine playing at Oracle, one of the best facilities in the game. The league needs to grow up, understand that CC and others like her with an entertaining game are the future of women’s basketball. Golden State understands this. If the WNBA doesn’t get this, I’ll go back to the college game.

    The WNBA is trying to run before it can walk. There isn’t enough talent to fill the rosters of existing teams, at least not at a high enough talent level that will command public attention. Further watering down a league that has never been talented enough will not help with sustainability.

    • @mmcpa

      You're not lying.

    • @caprigf
      @caprigf 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @@mmcpaDisagree, there’s too much talent for how small the league is. There’s so many prospects that never gets to be fully developed in the W because of the limited rosters, not to mention all of the talent abroad. Just because you only know or care about a few people doesn’t mean those are the only people that are good.

    • @BBG2K
      @BBG2K 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hm... I disagree. There is enough parity now and with the upcoming classes to fill rosters and compete. So many ladies not even making teams and drafted in the 1st round.

    • @roywall8169
      @roywall8169 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BBG2K there is nothing but parody from the fourth seed down, because the talent is poor throughout. Just because everyone is equally bad, that is not the sign of a healthy league.

    • @BBG2K
      @BBG2K 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@roywall8169 Ok...still disagree. With the new CBA, guarantee you there will be less "superteams" and more parity... rosters will even out. Add 2 more teams by 2026... it will be great.

    CC22 sells out arenas and draws millions of views when she plays. No other rookie comes close! This constant DEI mentioning other players has just become utterly ridiculous now.

      New York Liberty has had the biggest audience in their lifetime only when Chicago Sky and Angel Reese visited. So why didn't they have that with Indiana. These other girls do not get the marketing and notifications or media prop up that Indiana gets. Trust and believe if they had the same marketing they will be beating her hands down. Everything Angel had achieved didn't get any help from WNBA or the media

    • @garytorresani8846
      @garytorresani8846 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Has nothing to do with DEi or anything else other than jealousy and trying to take the new star down. The good players white or black are in Europe where they get paid more, play real basketball and respect the talented players instead of the thug type schoolyard bs against CC. I’m tired of people making this a rascist thing instead of what it is.

      they'd already announced this back in 2023. and 3 more new teams coming by 2026. none of this decision has to do with this year.
