I agree with you 100%. Mizuki is my favorite character out of them all, but their gender has never mattered. Like you said, Mizuki is Mizuki, that's the most important part
I’m a transfem girl and I relate to Mizuki so much. I relate to them not only because of their gender identity but their personality. I sometimes views myself when I see Mizuki. I may not know what’s actually their gender but I still love Mizuki because how relatable, nice, and funny Mizuki is. Mizuki is more than just a gender non-conforming character, Mizuki is Mizuki💖
THIS! We need to focus on Mizuki straight wanting to end it rn. At this point tho mizu5 was like a big giant red billboard yelling at us "this character is trans!" but thats not important rn guys ;-;
The times I got yelled at for calling mizuki her and she so im really glad to find that im not delusional cuz i could've sworn the characters call her she as well
i thought it was obvious that she was born as a boy honestly. for the first time i thought that she uses he/they pronouns cause in japan ver she said 'boku' (masc 'i' in japanese), but when i read the stories i realised that she's probably transfem:) my opinion is, no matter what pronouses she uses, she's still a character and we should see her as a person not just 'cis man', 'transfem' etc. (sorry english is not my first language)
Thank you so much for this! Mizuki, Shizuku and An are some of the most misunderstood characters in the game and it physically hurts me, so seeing people actually understand Mizuki warms my heart. People need to understand one single thing. Mizuki is suffering immensely because no matter where she goes, people judge her for dressing the way SHE wants to. Her sister told her it was okay, but everyone around her seems to disagree. She feels like a worthless freak. She’s always dressed pretty, she loves doing it, fashion is a cornerstone of her personality, but the people around her other than An and Rui can’t seem to not have an opinion on it. Mizuki loves being a girl, but she simultaneously hates how she wasn’t just content with being a boy. She hates how happy being a girl makes her despite making her so miserable. 25ji is important to her. Unlike An and Rui, 25ji share a dream with Mizuki. It’s not for nothing that they have a sekai together. Mizuki feels safe with 25ji. She can do what she likes most with them, but most importantly, they don’t know a thing about her past. The 25ji members are completely and utterly oblivious to the fact that Mizuki was born a man. Since she met them pre-transition, she probably used to find it convenient to interact with people online who had no idea she was a boy and who treated her like a girl as she pleased, but as 25ji became moreso friends and less « business partners », Mizuki began to feel like 25ji treating her as a woman was less of a fun gender-affirming thing and more of a lie she was telling them. Mizuki WANTS to tell 25ji that she isn’t a cis woman because a) she’s scared they’ll find out on their own, or b) she’ll feel more comfortable knowing they’re aware of the struggles she deals with on a daily basis instead of assuming she’s a cis woman like the rest of them. Still, despite the relief Mizuki would feel if she did admit to 25ji that she’s transfem, she refuses to. Think about it this way: in your life, if you don’t count your family members, only 2 people have ever thought of you positively after figuring out you were trans. No matter where you go, whenever someone learns it, they treat you differently. They think you’re a circus act or something. Then, you’re given a solid friend circle who share the same dreams as you and who you get along with. They have no idea you’re trans. Would you a) tell them and risk having your closest friends start treating you poorly as well, or b) leave them blissfully ignorant, that way you don’t get hurt, despite how it’s eating you up inside to keep it a secret. Mizuki chose the 2nd option and it’s what matters. Mizuki’s discourse was never « oh hey I’m trans look at my pronouns ». Her struggle is that she wants to hold on to her friendship with 25ji and is unable to accept herself for who she is. She doesn’t want to tell them she’s trans because she sees her gender dysphoria as a trait of hers that repels the people around her. She holds onto the idea that 25ji will never know because she wants to keep them by her side and wouldn’t risk being open about herself because that openness might drive them away. Whether Mizuki is mtf or non binary or whatever doesn’t matter: what matters is how she’s trying to maintain her cisgender woman image in front of her friends. She’s waiting to muster the courage to admit it to them.
Love all you said and since I mostly don't read events this gave me another view of her. I think that she'll muster the courage one day because in the few events I paid attention to, Ena said that she'll wait for her and Mizuki agrees. I think her coming out (idk if it's really a coming out but it's still her saying she's trans so maybe it is) could be a good arc/event that could be used to strengthen 25ji's bond, and allow her some relief (since I think the others will be suportive). I also think her accpeting herself after recieving the support that she needs/deserves could serve as carcter development and with it, we might see a new, more free and more happy Mizuki
i am completely against gender stereotypes ( ex : girl should only wear female clothes, boys cant!!) BUT mizuki cross dresser theory will never stands right with me, it's literally erasing mizuki's character istg people cannot find the difference between cross-dressing and transgender, cross dressing is when someone dresses as the opposite gender yet they're still identifying as their sex at birth and still feel confident about it, mizuki is the complete opposite. Mizuki was never enough to express their own gender identity. A good example is when they're in middle school, it was their darkest time so they only wear the male uniform because they clearly don't want to be judge or made fun of what they're identify as. Mizuki is always afraid of people leaving them because of what they are. AND YES. Mizuki character IS NOT ABOUT THEIR GENDER, i hated how people always agruing about mizuki's gender and not the other aspect of them. YES THEIR CHARACTER REPRESENT GENDER IDENTITIES AND GENDER DYSPHORIA BUT IT'S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT THAT. I always love mizuki's personality and i completely relate to their personality. b!tches need to stop arguing about mizuki's gender in the big 2024 now.. it's so fckiong obivious bro
I literally got hated online for calling mizuki a “she” and ppl were telling me that mizuki is transfem (which I alr agree to) and uses they/them pronouns. If mizuki is transfem wouldnt she use she/they pronouns??? :/
@@baylef like i said, pronouns do not equal gender whatsoever. a person may feel like a girl and like to be referred to as one, but still like being called he/him :)
@@weaponx8263in Mizu5 it was confirmed she was a male at birth and her being trans was heavily implied, though it wasn’t directly confirmed that she is trans (I don’t think it would make much sense if she was a cis male since I don’t think it would be as hard to tell Ena or the rest of N25 that they’re just a cross dresser)
@@chloecooper4520Dude. We all need to STOP assuming things and just wait for an OFFICIAL response from SEGA as to how mizuki views themselves and how they want to be viewed.
Actually, to make bread we need flour, water/milk, salt and yeast. So you are wrong because i am not made of flour....i guess.... WAIT A SEC, OUR MOTHER GIVE US MILK, THEN WE START TO GROW UP... WE ARE BREAD?????
mizuki is mizuki and i am waiting for a mizuena angst event. people are only focusing on her gender but not focusing on their girlfriends and thems story
i relate to mizuki TO AN EXTREME LEVEL that i was also trans since i was 6 😭😭 BUT ACTUALLY THIS IS THE VIDEO THAT SHOULD BE PLAYED TO EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO THINK MIZUKIS WHOLE PERSONALITY IS TRANS LIKE THEY (hc them as she use she/they) HAVE A WAY DEEPER MEANING OF NOT FEELING SHAME OF BEING YOURSELF AND HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF
thank you for this. i hate when people ONLY care about Mizuki’s gender and nothing else to do with their character. everything you said was correct and perfectly explained🔥🔥
I wish everyone understood this. Most people in russian fandom use he/him pronounce on mizuki, and when confrontend they just say "read mizuki's focus events" "mizuki's sex is confirmed he's a cisman" or just insult :[
I love Mizuki being Mizuki, and that's all we care about. The whole thing is about we should be able to be ourself without any hate or judgement. I personally think Mizuki is definitely not sisgender nor transmasc in any possible way. But on the other hand, will Mizuki identify themself as transfem? I think that's still questionble as long as Mizuki didn't confirm it. I think Postgenderism is the most suitable ideal to interprete Mizuki. Every one struggling in gender identity should give it a try. You won't regret. Afterall, Mizuki's most important lines is "ボクはボクでいたいだけなのに" (I just want to be myself.) As long as the whole society still keep putting Mizuki (including us) in some kind of gender framework, we can never be ourself truly and freely.
I generally dont care what mizuki's gender is, cuz until mizuki's gender is revealed, im just gonna keep calling her and she, CUZ I LIKE MIZUKI FOR HER PERSONALITY AND NOT HER *cisgender, transgender, transmasc* bullshit headcannons
I relate to Mizuki for acting feminine, i'm quite feminine when i was a kid then as i grew older my face is more manlier and people even mistaken me as old man (ugh- this one makes me want to hang myself and hate myself). Plus now i'm still feminine, people bully me because of it... i even have to be masculine just for the sake of protecting myself!! Plus the way they cope with bullying even kinda similiar as mine. That's why i felt like Mizuki is my safe space, i relate to them a lot although in a different way but our feelings are the same. Even if she's not trasgender or cisgender, it doesn't matter. I still love Mizuki with all my heart!
Interestingly, pronouns don't actually exist in the japanese language, only personal pronouns (the way you refer to yourself). mizuki refers to themself as "boku", which is what mainly teenage/young boys use. this must have made mizuki a very hard character to translate lol. honestly as long as no one uses he/him then its fine. also, mizuki is a gender neutral name in japanese which is cool. sorry for yapping lol, i just thought it was cool and wanted to share Love the vid, really good explanation
@@xyippee i'm pretty sure that instead of saying "she" they say "that woman", and same for a man. That just what i've heard, but could u tell me more abt japanese pronouns?
@@SocksSekai idk. maybe the origins of “kanojo”, “kare” and such are “that woman/man”, but there really is no reason to [literally] translate it as such since if you actually wanted to say “that woman” you’d say something along the lines of “sore/kore no josei”(depending on your and her location (*´-`)). the reason that i say pronouns are not commonly used is because for whatever reason, it’s more normal to just say the person’s name ig
Can we please stop all this discourse around Mizuki and just appreciate them as a character 😔 Their story is so well built, and I would hate for people to minimize them down to just their gender identity. I’ve seen it happen so many times with different fandoms, please don’t let it happen again. 🫶
Hello I’ve just discovered your channel and I am so happy for this video mizuki basically saved my life when I was in a really low spot and I’ve been really annoyed about the gender arguments that completely regard mizukis character and the point of their gender identity people are putting way to much focus on it when the point of their character is to be yourself NO MATTER what you where born as thank you you’ve gained a new sub!
“MIZUKI USES [pronouns] AND IS [gender] !!!,1111!!!1!1!1!1!!!!!!!1111!!!!!” SHUT UP⁉️ mizuki likes pink and pretty dresses and is apart of a group that runs at 25 : 00
ive said this before and i’ll say it again. for a game where the story is one of the MAIN FOCUSES, the fandom has a HUGE problem with not reading the stories…
Read the WHOLE comment pefore answering anything please!!!! I personally see Mizuki as a crossdresser or transsexual (not transgender!!) (and use they/he pronouns to mizuki), becase in original, japan language, they refer about themselfs as pronoun, that mostly tomboys/boys in japan refer (in english they refer as she/they, yeah, but its an adaptation after all so Im talking about original japanese version). Also they dont mind when OTHER people talk about them with male pronouns and doesnt mind if someone calls them a "she", because they're scared of people consider them wierd. As author of this video said: "The overall message of Mizuki's story is about how you should be able to express yourself freely without fear of judgment". I see Mizuki as a person, who wants to break gender stereotypes like "pink color, skirts and cute things for girls, blue color, pants and sporty things for boys" (also if I remember right, Mizuki's sister ones said to them, that wearing cute clothes is okay and its not wierd at all). I just dont see mizuki's conflict as only gender questioning. But whats my opinion on other headcanons? Its simple. I respect all of them. Im a transmasc person and I love to see how people find trans traits in characters, even though I dont really see them, if others see them - its really interesting. If mizuki's CANON gender will be trans, nonbinary or any but not the one I headcanon right now, I will just say: Oh, pkay, ig my headcanon wasnt right, ill use those pronouns to mizuki from now on. In my personal opinion, when diffrent people see diffrent expirienses in 1 single character, thats really cool and Im always interested to hear WITHOUT TOXICITY AND HARASSMENT about their headcanons and opinions. Diffrent opinions is cool, but its not cool when you hate on each other, racit on each other, make fake accusations (like for example much people called me transphobic because i use he/they to mizuki even though I am trans, yeah because I respect headcanons on a bunch of pixels but dont use them myself, thats really sad actually) and other bad stuff. Also I dont think that transfem mizuki headcanon erases their story, its just makes it a story about transfem mizuki! People who think that mizuki is non-binary - makes it a nonbinary story. People like me who thinks that they're a crossdresser - makes it a story about crossdresser mizuki! And all that diffrent stories are not a bad thing, they all make it 1 big MIZUKI story, and I love it!! Stay safe everyone!! Love yall my Mizuki enjoyers!!
I always follow what is canon, if they say that we don 't know her/him gender we don 't should say nothing about it, unfortunatly the Fandom is problemitic
Well I would stop if it wasn't literally shoved into my face by my country fandom that "HE'S OUR GOOD BOY" and they literally don't care about her. I do tho.
my dumb ass thinking mizuki was just like a fem tomboy or whatever 💀 I READ ALL THE N25 EVENT STORIES TOOOOOOO bruh i am,,, i need help,, i didnt even CONSIDER her being trans i would like to publicly apologize 😭 tbh ill probably keep thinking of her as tomboyish even w all the evidence ("boku" made me think that) but the transfem idea makes a lot of sense and is very baller
I like mizuki. Yes, I headcannon her as transfem, NO I don’t like her just for that. I like Mizuki because I really relate to her for being jugded about her style and what she likes and I really appreciate how she actually still does what she likes even if people judge her, shes overall a really cool character and I love her style tbh
I would like to add something but idk if it sounds weird mizuki uses “boku” in japanese which is a masculine phrase that refers to “i” or “me” and is a phrasing that usually boys use. My point here is that if we’re talking abt the transfem theory, they probably had using “boku” as a habit from their younger age and are still using it now.
boku actually became a lot more used by girls nowadays in japan and turned from a masc pronoun to a "cutesy" pronoun, i heard that from a japanese friend
I liked mizuki because of their personality, I love her design, her interests, her gender identity was something I thought was cool that they were representing but this fandom is too much. I still love mizuki though.
6:00 Considering it's stated Niigo doesn't know about Mizuki's "secret", they/them Mizuki and Ena just accidentally misgendering them here isn't out of the question, is it? Still up to interpretation, though
it doesn’t really mean much, but i think it’s cool how in IDSMILE when the lighting changes from pink to blue, mizuki’s facial expressions and choreography seems rather somber, while in the pink lighting they seem more energetic. and i’m sure you’re aware of the whole “pink = girls and blue = boys”. i’m nervous that i might get slandered for pointing out such a small detail, so i’ll clarify that i’m aware it could have multiple implications. i’m not suggesting that they *absolutely must* be transfem because of something as minuscule as the fuckin’ hue of the lighting in a silly little music video. it’s just a cool detail, and i absolutely agree with everything in the video.
Normally on videos like these i make long essays, but right now i just feel like saying that i am proud to have understood Mizuki's main purpose as a character instead of focusing on their gender aspect before this video
Exactly. I love and relate to Mizuki. Not as much as a transfem person probably would considering I’m AFAB, but I relate to her. I love mizuki’s character. Their potential transness is part of it but not the whole thing- because she’s more than just her gender identity. I’m nonbinary- that doesn’t mean that’s all I am. There’s much more to trans people than their identity just like how there’s much more to cis people than their identity. And I won’t attack anyone for their personal Mizuki ‘headcannons’, I just tell them we all have to keep waiting for the official reveal and for the ‘?’ to go away.
Also this is off topic for Mizuki but is it just me or do purple male characters get simped on a lot? Three characters like this come to mind. Jax for TADC, Rui, and Kokichi from Danganronpa.
cis female here. i like mizuki bc she’s relatable. when i wear fashion that shows what i am as a person, like one piece and anime tshirts that i like, that’s how i express but the hate i receive makes me feel rlly bad abt myself. she resonates with me, and even if it’s not in the same way, i still find her relatable. im muslim, so i dont support the lgbtq+, etc. that doesn’t mean i have to push my words and opinions onto this pointless argument, mizuki is probably transfem and i genuinely don’t care, its a character trait that has nothing to do with me. i know who i am as a person and i know what parts of her relate to me. i wont go out of my way to defend any arguments and just enjoy what makes me and her so relatable.
5:30 Transmasculine person here, you can 100% be transmasculine and still be feminine. Gender expression =/= Gender Identity. I don't play PJSekai or any mobile idol gacha games so I have nothing else to say about this
true. i was saying that she has an implied feminine gender identity and saying she has a masculine one is contradictory. not about her gender presentation.
I dont really play pjsk. I kinda quit bc of the fandom. But all I'm gonna say is this. If you really need to debate the gender of a mf fictional character, then I think it's about time you get off your phone, laptop, or any electronic device, and go touch grass. "They're transfem" this and "They're cismale" that. Anyone who debates this has never seen the light of day.
Last thing I as a trans girl want to hear is someone putting on a white coat and saying "You all are dum dums", when the character I care about is mistreated. Yes, I sympathize with Mizuki with all my heart and it pains me to think of her more as representation of my people when she's getting mistreated and called a guy when it was shown that that's what THE LITERAL BULLIES DO. This is where fiction becomes reality for me, because I go through the same treatment. And the least people could do is not do that to a character that, unlike me, has NOTHING saying of her as a guy, except for fictional bullies who are definitely not a reliable source.
"Guys their secret is-" "Guys, their pronouns are they/them-" no, her secret and pronouns haven't been revealed yet. You can have headcanons and theories but don't try to say it as if it's canon
I remember when I first got to know Mizuki, I used she/her pronouns because she looked feminine, but some random yelled at me to use he/him because that wasnt right, so I trusted them and started using he/him. But then other people would come and complain about how transphobic it was from me, while I barely knew the character and just tried to do things right, so I started using they/them pronouns,, thinking this wouldnt be a burdden. BUT THEN PEOPLE STILL GOT MAD AT ME BECAUSE THEY THEM PRONOUNS ARE STILL NOT RIGHT BUT LIKE I JUST TRIED TO GET TO KNOW THE CHARACTER WHY ARE YALL RUINING THE EXPERIENCE BY ONLY TALKING ABOUT HER PRONOUNS WHENEVER IM TALKIN + GOING OFF TOPIC OF WHAT I WAS SAYIN 😭😭🙏 ..Now I just use she/her pronouns, and ignore people yelling for no reasons. but thats really annoying like- 💀💀
I’d like to add that in Japan (where the game is released and set in) rather than having gender neutral terms, they have more like gender ambiguous terms. For example aitsu (Akito loves using that word) can be used on both males and females (as Akito uses it to refer to both Ena and Tsukasa), and would translate in English as they, but in Japanese context it does not necessarily mean they/them as to refer to gender pronouns. The only reason why these words are translated as such, is mostly because the English vocabulary doesn’t have any other word besides what they are using. As with Mizuki referring to herself as “Boku” the boyish term for “I”, in Japan while its uncommon there are some girls who do refer to themselves as “Boku” and are normally called “Bokukko” literally translated as “Boku girl” the girl who refers to herself as boku. Basically Mizuki’s gender is unknown not only lore wise, but also in the setting of the game, with only a handful of people with that knowledge (An, Rui, her classmates, teachers and family)
Real. I don't care what their gender is. I like their personality, their story, their design and how relatable they are no matter what they identify as
Mizuki is honestly such a relatable character to me, and that’s why I love her. I’m not trans, but Mizuki struggling to express herself w/o judgement relates to me. Asides that, this whole discourse is stupid. In the end, Mizuki is Mizuki! Her character isn’t just about her gender identity. She’s a silly character and a very cute and interesting character too! :))
would you ever consider doing more videos about pjsekai character discourse, maybe around more quote unquote controversal characters, like shiho, airi, akito, tsukasa (?), mafuyu, and ena?
@@wonderhoy-y mainly that they're too mean/rude, because people don't understand their characters and motivations. for mafuyu it's more like, people think she's manipulating/guilt tripping n25 into helping her. but the others it's usually like, "they said this one mean thing in episode 3 of the main story and now I'm gonna base my whole idea of their character around that even though they've grown a lot!!!"
Ngl, I'm a newer player (going on like 5 months as of this month) who skipped over pretty much every event story before like may or June so I never really would have thought colorful pallette would actually be brave enough to make characters canonically LGBT, especially trans. Honestly kinda based
Idk and honestly i wish i never clicked on this video cause i prefer seeing things from a simpler lens. I’ve always seen Mizuki presented as a girl in the game and I’ve never once doubted it or thought that she might be trans, and I wish it’d stay like that for me
Mizuki is my fav character 1: they dress cute (live laugh cuteness) I relate bc I also dress like that! 2: their personality! I rlly like how mizuki is kinda like a annoying lil sister (same lmao) so basically I kin mizuki and her secret (i also go by she/they pros) but I don’t just like them bc of their gender! I think the point of mizukis story isn’t abt what their gender is but instead finding people that accept u and expressing yourself without fear of being looked down on or bullied. (if u read all this ur amazing lol :3)
Thank you so much for making this video. I used to hate Mizuki saying that I can't relate to her because I'm not transgender. The actual reason why I hated Mizuki is because I thought that Mizuki was only popular because she's transgender and that transgender characters will be really popular no matter what just because they'retransgender. But now I see that she's so popular because people relate to her not fitting in, not just because she transitioned. As you said, the people who like Muzuki just because she's transgender are kind of missing the point. Knowing this, I think she'll grow on me, and I'll stop hating her.
in my opinion i see them as transfem nonbinary and i hc that they use they/them, the fact that people are so mad abt headcanons is ridiculous😭 (also before people say anything, transfem is NOT the same as transgirl. transfem is amab who now identifies with another gender while being feminine.)
I know this is unrelated but ABYSSAL?? love that game! anyways this video is really in-depth and really based, I love how you state your opinion while trying to respect others
I used they/them at first bc it was the only way I had ever seen her being refered as, I was confused when I saw caracters calling her 'she' and I thought 'is her secret that she's non binary but feels like being feminine contradcits that so she just sticks with being a woman even though she isn't ? Is she scared that people won't even accept non binary as a real thing ?' and no lmao she just uses she/her 😭😭
I haven’t watched the video yet, but Mizuki’s gender is not important. I do however, feel like whichever way you slice it, queer people will be able to see themselves in Mizuki, myself included, and be able to find comfort in that. I think it’s a wonderful thing.
Me to the blockheaded idiots you mentioned: I present to you; Genderfluid, Demigirl, Agender, should I go on? (This isn’t any headcannons, I don’t headcannon anything other than that mizuki is yes since I literally do not watch the show 😂 I found this Randomly and tried to look into it soooooo idk, whatever you say :D)
5:18 I mean, I’d agree with you that transmasc can only refer to AFABs (I prefer words to mean things,) the text on screen here literally says “not exclusively”. Edit: Also, they could be bi-gender, thus being technically AMAB and with a masculine gender identity and also being trans.
@@EmilyMemily-it3xp i thought the “not exclusively” was referring to intersex people who identify as transmasc. edit: also yeah mizuki could possibly be bigender but most people just reduce her down to one thing and it’s unlikely sega would choose bigender as her gender.
actually intersex amab people can be transmasc! not saying it's mizuki's case, but it can happen! EDIT: also transmasc people can present feminine too! clothes don't equal gender! same with pronouns!
@@hikkikoneet AMAB and AFAB is determined by your genitals at birth. If you have a penis, you are assigned male at birth and if you have a vagina, you are assigned female at birth. If you are intersex, you get neither as you often have both genitals.
@@TheCoolPastry you don't actually have both genitals, there are many variants of intersex that seem cis enough and also doctors tend to do surgery on intersex babies so they fit into one of the genders which is cisnormative and sucks
I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Doctors (most of the time, keyword, most) give you AMAB or AFAB even if you're intersex, and many types intersex exist. Intersex people can hav both genitals and either be raised as male, female, or intersex. I'm an example. I have both genitalia. BUT I was raised as a girl and my birth certificate says that I'm female. Therefore, you're wrong.
@@MiriamTheWriter Oh so it’s probably determined by the “prominent” genital. Still, if you are “AMAB” intersex you don’t technically need to identify as transmasc as technically you’re already a boy. but gender identity is complicated just as rocket science is so ummmmm do what you want.

i thought it was obvious that she was born as a boy honestly. for the first time i thought that she uses he/they pronouns cause in japan ver she said 'boku' (masc 'i' in japanese), but when i read the stories i realised that she's probably transfem:) my opinion is, no matter what pronouses she uses, she's still a character and we should see her as a person not just 'cis man', 'transfem' etc. (sorry english is not my first language)
But wasn't her kid model a girl?
I also think her accpeting herself after recieving the support that she needs/deserves could serve as carcter development and with it, we might see a new, more free and more happy Mizuki
i am completely against gender stereotypes ( ex : girl should only wear female clothes, boys cant!!) BUT mizuki cross dresser theory will never stands right with me, it's literally erasing mizuki's character
istg people cannot find the difference between cross-dressing and transgender, cross dressing is when someone dresses as the opposite gender yet they're still identifying as their sex at birth and still feel confident about it, mizuki is the complete opposite.

@@Tealxer over a ALPHA MALE JOKE?!?!?
I know literally nothing about this game besides what was in this video but I think Mizuki is somehow an enemy of the state
As someone who is into this game & knows it sorta well, yeah that feels about right.
Hello fellow person who relates to Mizuki. Keep being yourself
@@EnbySocks aww thank you so much, i feel relieved now. I guess... being myself isn't bad! :D
Interestingly, pronouns don't actually exist in the japanese language, only personal pronouns (the way you refer to yourself). mizuki refers to themself as "boku", which is what mainly teenage/young boys use. this must have made mizuki a very hard character to translate lol. honestly as long as no one uses he/him then its fine. also, mizuki is a gender neutral name in japanese which is cool. sorry for yapping lol, i just thought it was cool and wanted to share
Love the vid, really good explanation
i mean, pronouns exist in japanese, just not commonly used
@@xyippee i'm pretty sure that instead of saying "she" they say "that woman", and same for a man.

I agree everything with you

YIPPE SHES TRANS
it doesn’t really mean much, but i think it’s cool how in IDSMILE when the lighting changes from pink to blue, mizuki’s facial expressions and choreography seems rather somber, while in the pink lighting they seem more energetic. and i’m sure you’re aware of the whole “pink = girls and blue = boys”.
i’m nervous that i might get slandered for pointing out such a small detail, so i’ll clarify that i’m aware it could have multiple implications. i’m not suggesting that they *absolutely must* be transfem because of something as minuscule as the fuckin’ hue of the lighting in a silly little music video. it’s just a cool detail, and i absolutely agree with everything in the video.
Normally on videos like these i make long essays, but right now i just feel like saying that i am proud to have understood Mizuki's main purpose as a character instead of focusing on their gender aspect before this video
Watching this after the latest event... (Spoilers)
Why can I hear the bells tolling 😭😭😭
And I won’t attack anyone for their personal Mizuki ‘headcannons’, I just tell them we all have to keep waiting for the official reveal and for the ‘?’ to go away.

no you can’t. you’re just masculine woman or a transgender man. stop making up new terms
I agree ! Mizuki is an amazing cool character no matter what ! ❤💖❤️
As a hardcore Mizuki fan, MIZUKI IS MIZUKI IT DOESNT MATTERRRRR
I dont really play pjsk. I kinda quit bc of the fandom. But all I'm gonna say is this.
If you really need to debate the gender of a mf fictional character, then I think it's about time you get off your phone, laptop, or any electronic device, and go touch grass.
"They're transfem" this and "They're cismale" that. Anyone who debates this has never seen the light of day.
Exactly.
Cant we just say she's a demi girl and leave it at that and not go over trans/cis/non binary alligations?? :'DD

BUT THEN PEOPLE STILL GOT MAD AT ME BECAUSE THEY THEM PRONOUNS ARE STILL NOT RIGHT BUT LIKE I JUST TRIED TO GET TO KNOW THE CHARACTER WHY ARE YALL RUINING THE EXPERIENCE BY ONLY TALKING ABOUT HER PRONOUNS WHENEVER IM TALKIN + GOING OFF TOPIC OF WHAT I WAS SAYIN 😭😭🙏
..Now I just use she/her pronouns, and ignore people yelling for no reasons. but thats really annoying like- 💀💀
you really can’t win with this. call mizuki with miz/uki pronouns atp
Mizuki is a chimera and uses kasane/teto and chimera/chimeraself pronouns 🗣️🔥

But now I see that she's so popular because people relate to her not fitting in, not just because she transitioned. in my opinion i see them as transfem nonbinary and i hc that they use they/them, the fact that people are so mad abt headcanons is ridiculous😭 (also before people say anything, transfem is NOT the same as transgirl. transfem is amab who now identifies with another gender while being feminine.)

Exactly exactly exactly exactly exactly.
Does it matter tho??? I think ppl are getting way to mad about it tho great vid :D
I like Mizuki cuz pink hair
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY PERSON 😭 thank yew :3
lmao the thumbnail is funny
Im too new to understand this thought
Instead of fighting over whether Mizuki's pronouns are "she/her," "she/they," or "they/them" why don't we just refer to Mizuki as... Mizuki?
REAALL, LIKE "MIZUKI IS SO PRETTY" OR "MIZUKI IS SO SILLY"
actually intersex amab people can be transmasc! not saying it's mizuki's case, but it can happen!
Yeah you kinda do have a point
But honestly Idgaf abt Mizuki's gender if they are themselves I'm fine ig
my mizuki hc is shes amab transfem genderfae (genderfae is like genderfluid but not any masc genders)
Mizuki is genderfluid is my favorite suggestion
idrc though
just give 'em she/they pronouns and move on
I'm nonbinary person, I'm mizuki fan, and I think it's better to use the pronouns they/them for mizuki, idk.........
Mizuki is very epik B)
personally i headcanon her as transfem but idrgaf abt if other ppl disagree lmao just be nice abt it :3333
