My gay filipino college professor used to call me "kagandahan". Dati nasasaktan ako. Tinatawanan ko nalang ngayon. Sumalangit nawa siya. Nabalitaan ko na kinuha na siya ng maykapal. Rip, sir.

Yan din ang question ko, sometimes Gender identity use as an excuse and pass to conform. May nagsasabing bi sila but then gay ang expression. Sometimes, gender labeling also limits our expression because of the fear the stigma of being gay.

Clark Saluta “May nagsasabing bi sila but gay ang expression”.
Uhm..that doesn’t make sense. Kahit bi ang tao, pwede panlalaki o pambabae ang kilos at pananamit. Being gay is a sexual orientation NOT a form of expression. Ang ibig sabihin ng bi ay interesado sa lalaki at babae, at wala iyon relasyon sa kilos.

@@MrPogee I understand po where you are coming from, pero po baka po ang meaning niya po is sa stigma na baka pag ang naging gender expression niya is feminine, baka layuan siya which is an internalized discrimination, pero it doesn't mean na tama po yung inemphasized na sentence niya po kasi mali naman po talaga.

It's true that internalized homophobia is really strong within the LGBTQ+ community. But this is the result of the extreme stigma directed towards gays as imposed by society for a looong period of time. I, myself, in my 20s, had claimed to be "bi" while knowing genuinely that I'm gay (because I'm only attacted to guys, and never to women). I've only fully accepted being gay when I was in my late 20s.
But here's the thing. An individual's gender identity is exclusively his/her decision. It is never our business to "know better" and "assume" other people's gender identity. Because there's really no benefit to it. Gender identity refers to how someone feels, it's completely subjective, and could even change over time. So there's really no use arguing or "correcting" someone, again, not our business. All we have to do is respect what they identify as.

  • @givelobster6750

The problem with this is that there maybe inconsistency with regards to someones identity in the sense that many people in LGBTQIA+ are still in the state of identity crisis..or undecided..how is that?

Sexual liberty is birth right. Sexual liberty binds the Nation, strengthen the democracy and level the society. Respect the human nature/human sexuality/sexual liberty. Restrictions on sexual liberty keep the humanity in slavery.

Gender is different from gender preference. Wlang pumilit sa isang tao na maging trans. Nasa sayo yan. Naniniwala ako na ang pagiging feminine man or masculine woman is normal pero ang majority ba takaga ng population ang mag aadjust sa deformity ng less than 1 percent.

MOST OF DISCRIMINATIONS OF LGBT COMES FROM LGBT ITSELF. No matter who your are, what you identify yourself as, what you look like, you are still a human and you deserve respect from everyone as no one is a ove anyone base on gender, financial status, education status etc. Dont entertain someone who discriminates you, ignore them, continue walking with proud and live your life. NO MATTER HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIFE WELL, KUNG MAY MANGDE-DISCRIMINATE SAYO MAY MANGDE-DISCRIMINATE SAYO!

Blanca coc Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression! It pertains to all humans po. Everyone have Gender Identity wheather you are a MEN, WOMEN, BISEXUAL, PANSEXUAL, etc. E.g. In a workplace there’s a hiring position for HR usually they look for girls! And boys/gays will be discriminated because they only look for girl applicants! My advice to you is to expound your horizon and your vocabulary so that you’ll not berserk in a wrong place :)
