The aim for promoting the Sexual Orientation and Gender identity bill is irrelevant as the presented argument thereof which protects anyone from discrimination due to their gender and sexual preferences and identity either in the public and private spaces is already existing in the R.A 11313 or also known as the Safe spaces act.
"Section 4. Gender-Based Streets and Public Spaces Sexual Harassment. -The crimes of gender-based streets and public spaces sexual harassment are committed through any unwanted and uninvited sexual actions or remarks against any person regardless of the motive for committing such action or remarks.
Section 5. Gender-Based Sexual Harassment in Restaurants and Cafes, Bars and Clubs, Resorts and Water Parks, Hotels and Casinos, Cinemas, Malls, Buildings and Other Privately-Owned Places Open to the Public. -Restaurants, bars, cinemas, malls, buildings and other privately-owned places open to the public shall adopt a zero-tolerance policy against gender-based streets and public spaces sexual harassment"
It can be fairly understood that once a person was discriminated, it constituted the act of harassment due to their gender identity. Since the safe space act protects anyone from gender-based sexual harassment. Therefore, the safe space act already protects the individual from discrimination. Therefore, the argument underlying on the SOGIE bill is irrelevant.

Mahirap tong issue nato.. Madami magagalit d2.
Ok lets say in ph population
    40% are women
    40% are men and
    20% are lgbtq.
( di ko alam kung ilan talaga karami pero hypothesis lng to base sa nakikita ko)
If this pass, some of those 80% men and women are not gonna be happy about it and some of those 20% lgbtq are not gonna be happy also.
Kung papipili in ako, hindi ko gagalitin yung mostly 80% of the population. Its a big risk to take para sa 20% of population.
i support lgbtq, i got good lgbtq friends pero hindi ko susuportahan to dahil lalaki lng ang issue nato at madaming tao ang magagalit at madamay pa sila.

Reading some of the comments i'm just getting pissed off, this is a bill just for us Lgbtqioa to have equality and not get discriminated. I don't know why religion is getting into this because this is just for us to get equality, not everything revolves around Christianity, okay? Stop getting oppressed because if this bill is passed you heteros are going to complain. Hayst nako po, repeating my word. This is a bill for lgbtqioa equality. That's it, i don't know how some of you don't get it.🧍‍♀️

well gay before means happy, and now they just took it, they took some alphabet letters and expanding even arithmetic symbols, next what will they take? they will take your washroom, your family, your children and your rights, your sports, and school programs. even holidays.. oh they already taken the whole month of June. btw. Well God is the creator if you deny HIM so go to the godless nation then you can exercise your right wala naman humahadlang sa iyo. ang sa amin lang babae eh, iglang kami. as babae. baka pati term na woman ay kunn na din like sa US.

@@faithdc693 it's important to recognize that LGBTQ+ rights are about ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity, not about taking anything away from others. The use of terms and symbols by the LGBTQ+ community is meant to promote visibility and acceptance, just as various symbols and terms have done for other movements throughout history. expanding rights and inclusivity does not mean losing rights; it means creating a society where everyone can coexist peacefully and safely. Religious beliefs are personal and protected, and everyone has the right to their beliefs or non-beliefs.
