Hi Diane, I've picked wild blackberries in New Jersey, Oregon, and California, too, I think they'll grow almost anywhere. I had a garden years ago with blackberries, raspberries, and some lovely strawberries. My granny grew red and black currants and some gooseberries, too. We always had pots of currant jam stored in the basement. 🌻💚🌞
Yes, the berries are great. We have blackcurrants, red currants, gooseberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and elderberries in the garden. I make jam and other things from all of them!
I love the scenery you show us sometimes. Thank you. Just a thought after seeing the birds--maybe you could take photos of them to share for our inspiration. 😊

Diane, I have so many comments I want to say on this video but because it's a longer than usual tutorial, I've so far, only made it as far as the second piece of art, which is the three pumpkins. What I have to say is "Thank you!" This is a video I'll be playing over and over again. I can picture myself playing this again tonight and several nights in the future, as I embroider my tea towels, which in itself is a relaxing thing to do, but coupled with this video, and the relaxing addition of music (thank you Tamsin) it's doubly peaceful. Those pumpkins and foliage have the most gorgeous fall colors. I've had to reverse and play over and over the part where you leave the highlights on the pumpkins where the sun shines upon them. No one has a style like you Diane. I absolutely love the vintage flair that so many of your paintings have. You amaze me!

Hi Jacqui and thanks so much for your super-kind comments and message. I‘m so glad you are managing to get things rearranged so you can paint but you must put your blood-sugar first at all times! Regular meals are so important, even small ones. I never used to be one for breakfast, but now I make sure I eat some yoghurt and fresh fruit every morning at the same time, about 8:30. I then usually eat a ricecake or a piece of toast at about 11 and that way I avoid the trembles from low bloodsugar! I‘m so glad you are enjoying the videos, and this long one was designed so folks could put me on in the background and forget about it while they paint or do the ironing! We can pretend I‘m in the same room, just out of sight! Thanks again for your endless support and love, sending you big hugs and blessings from us both xxxx Diane xxxx

I really love watching and listening. You are teaching me so much. You are a comforting teacher.
I'm so glad!
I became so restful knowing that there were more hours to follow. My favorite one was the first one.
I’m loving her sketching.
A whole workshop in a Saturday afternoon. Will be referring back to this time and again. What a lot work must have gone into this. Thank you ladies. Best wishes.
Thanks again so grateful for your support!

Ok. Just watched the mouse family one and it is my new favorite!! Do you do illustrations for children's books? This one needs a story!😘
Thanks Theresa!❤️❤️

What a great idea to have a longer video with relaxing words and music! And beautiful paintings to boot! Thank you Diane and Tamsin!

So nice to have your company while I’m in my studio. Weekends can get lonely. Thanks, wish we could have tea!❤
Wouldn’t that be nice! I’m sorry you sometimes get lonely, I know what you mean. Sending hugs xxx
How lovely, thank you so very much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was a wonderful video. I took the time to listen to what your reasons for using various tools and that made all the difference to me. Thank you for sharing your time and talent. I really enjoyed the abstract best because it offered so many ideas and freedom to play 😊 Blessings
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for taking the time to comment Valerie x
I absolutely love this though I must follow this in segments; so peaceful and calming. Love what you chat about as you draw and paint.
Thank you to Tamsin too! 🤗
Thanks Judit, I‘ll tell her! Xxx
Diane, you have an amazing gift for showing the beauty of nature in your paintings. This video was inspirational all the way through.
I did cringe when Arthur jumped on your last painting! I thought for sure you were going to have brown ink all over your painting. And all you did was say "Oh, Arthur" and kept on painting. Such love and restraint! 😊
Many thanks for all of your postings. They are priceless!
P.S. I looked for your Viviva paints and couldn't find the ones you sponsored. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much! The Viviva link is here for the two sets of paint that I typically use:

I so enjoy your style...and Arthur is so darn cute! I love the long form video, your mild commentary, easy to listen to background music (low). Just very enjoyable over-all. ThanQ
Oh thank you! We’ll have another long-form video soon - hoping to do one a month xxx
looks awesome pretty your colorwork. 😃
I watch this one everyday. Thank you. . ❤
Love the autumn colors and paintings.
Auntie Em.
Flowers, vines and cute little critters, this is just wonderful. Thank you Diane.
Thanks so much Sandy!
Many years ago I lived near Seattle Washington and we had blackberries growing wild in a large field nearby. I made my first blackberry pie then. ❤
Thanks for sharing!
We were at the farmer’s market this morning and they had the coolest pumpkins with really long stems. They were so pretty and I cold kick myself for not taking pictures of them.
That sounds fascinating!
It's a fantastic way to spend an afternoon. I enjoyed watching the variety of ideas. Thank you!
I love this video. Thanks ❤
You are so welcome!
Very inspiring. Thinking about fall designs while I go about mundane household chores is a great relief. Quick peeks and of goes my imagination. This is a wonderful way to keep my art close during the day. Your encouragement and instruction have led to some wonderful times sketching and painting at my kitchen table. Thank you. 💖
Great idea!
Love the long relaxed format painting the subjects we love!!! Thank You Diane!
You are so welcome!
All paintings are beautiful... however, I especially LOVE the first one. Reminds me of being IN the garden. The colors are so soft. Thank you, Diane ;)
I love this, I get a bit lonely painting in my studio alone, your voice is soothing and your work is beautiful. I enjoy learning from you also. Thank you for making these longer videos. I watch them while I’m painting and working in my studio.
