Last year was way too hectic, but this year I have less studio classes and more brown classes (which are actually the shorter more low effort classes). So I’m going to force myself to a schedule that works for videos 😤 And YES. I’m going into the conservation bio track of envs, and I completely understand the itch for math. I can’t envision myself going into mathematics, but I just enjoy the puzzle-like aspect of math. How everything just works out, and so literally on your page. And the nitty gritty of calc are just fun. Complicated but in a fun way. I wish there was more math in envs but the most we get to is stats which, well, isn’t quite math. Hiii the art is absolutely amazing, the editing perfection. I’m a senior now and is debating over applying dual or just brown. I absolutely love art but also have a hard time dealing with stress. From your experience would u recommend it? ❤❤❤❤
Hiiiieeiii!! Thank you so much 🥺🫶 One thing I shall say is it doesn’t hurt to apply (dual degree). It’s only one extra essay (and if you don’t have time you could always just bs it last minute. You never know.) As for the program itself…yes I do think it is rather stressful, especially the first two years (year 1 RISD EFS on top of brown work is quite a lot and year 2 transitioning to Brown and talking heavier classes in your majors), but I wouldn’t worry too much about stress as a factor for deciding whether you want to apply. I feel like all dual degree students, despite the stress, all have the consensus that something would be “missing” if they weren’t in the program, aka the opportunity to work with both art and another non-art passion. So if that applies to you as well (you can’t imagine working in just art or just academia), definitely apply! Have a lovelie day ✨✨🫶
