I also study art at uni (UAL) and I completely relate to your disappointment from the feedback from your tutor. It's so soul crushing when you pour your heart and soul out into a piece of work just for it to get criticised. But remember, art is super subjective and everyone's opinions are different. Your illustration was beautiful and you should be confident in your work because you're insanely talented! Really loving your videos too, my love!

- 3:00 her business cards
- 3:40 this collage of multiple art works
- 10:10 Her story book
- 11:20 her outfit
- 13:00 , her out fit, and her coming to say she was able to make a lot of sales
- 16:55 - her drawing, I thought it was so beautiful, I loved the green
- 22:10 - this drawing , it was so so beautiful I loved the colors
- 25:30 - seeing the drawing we saw in the beginning of the video and it coming to life and her dancing with the finished work

This is kind of a broad hard question to answer, but how did you get to this level of art? Like think back to when u were a kid/young teen, did u take art classes? Watch TH-cam videos? This question is coming from a 16 year old girl who really wants to go to art school someday but has very minimal skills, with no clue how to build them. I love this video, thank u!! ❤️
woah same... also a 16 year old girl here. i just keep drawing as often as i can, but i seriously struggle with color mixing and usage. i don't know where to start with that!

maybe i can make a more indepth video on my art journey later on! but ive been drawing since i was a toddler and just really fell in love with it at a young age. but the thing is, you don't have to have what they say a skilled and good foundation to be a good artist. the materials, concept, story, thoughtfulness and care is what makes good art, and i really wish i knew this 4 years ago before coming into art college 😌
hello, I’m 19 and around your age actually taught myself how to draw and paint, then after learning myself did it in high school after not taking the first 3 years of it, so basically getting no teaching more just feedback from my teacher since all my classmates had essentially learned in the first 3 years and I got an A so. My advice would be to start soon, and draw all the time, doesnt matter if you hate it or not, just draw/paint or whatever, use every media, try all of them, embrace the messiness. And rather than looking at someone drawing a face an spontaneously trying to copy, get a picture and try draw whats infront of you, once you get familiar with anatomy it’ll be easier. I got inspired by other artists but only progressed when I stop fully trying to replicate them. Definitely use references, I started like ‘oh lets draw a face’ and failed because drawing from imagination is so hard. Over time, I just got better, I went from doing watercolour landscapes, to acrylic flowers and now I mainly draw faces because I can do anatomy now. Start as soon as possible and tell yourself you’re already an artist, you’re not pretending, you are an artist.
I would recommend you take time to learn anatomy but dont learn it all from those ‘hack’ kind of videos or tutorials as then you get it in your head that a body ‘should’ look a certain way as supposed to using the anatomy in your head to aid you along with a reference

Is every art student as skilled as you? I am honestly very admirative of the skills you have in many different domains. It’s not just “drawing nicely” it’s so many different things combined together that make you an inspiring creator, that make you a true artist. It must’ve taken so many hours of hard work and practice. That vlog was so wonderful!

totally agree on the profs. Maybe they get nitpicky when they expect a lot from a student... and let some of the more serious transgressions slide with other students. It's usually a compliment when they get like that (even if it doesn't feel that way)
@@moonhunter9993 This is 100000% true, this is what I felt...My professors expect a lot from me even though I just formally learned fine arts last Feb 2021...I also informed them...But, whenever it's my turn s/he will be nitpicky me hard, but let it slide for my other classmate even though theirs is a lot messier...I can also feel their biased taste
