From an absolutely no ranch or farm experience girl, I find this amazing. What incredible technology at your fingertips to make your herd stronger! Love learning from you. Thanks!

so raising cows is not simply watching them grow from your front porch, sending them to market, and collecting a fat check?... Lol.. some of my city family think that's the case with our herd ... Which I do not fault them in that and they are good city folk ... but I'm gonna send this video link to them .. I think it helps put into some perspective how much goes into that meatloaf they enjoy... Peace and keep them coming.. I'm still learning and your sure helping that process...

Thanks for trying to educate us knuckleheads Carson! It does take a lot of time, but in the end, it’s going to be well worth it for you as an engineer and a cattlemen data to me is crucial take care of my friend. Tell Jauck and your dad it was good to see them. your dad has a great comments as always

Lots of data…… I actually would like seeing the bulls individually that he was referencing to…. It is interesting to hear how things getting more advanced… I also like the idea of leasing bulls… if something happens to the bull like he didn’t perform or maybe got sick they would come and get him and replace him…. I liked seeing the picture on the advertisement….. that bull was gorgeous…. But all in all… I think pictures with data would be better…..😊

You are really delving deep into the world of genetic testing & ultimately utilization of those test results. Good on you!! If used properly, so much good can come from it all.

This is very interesting For my dairy cows, I relied on the tribleAAA system. Do you know that too? There are also for mother cows.

This was really interesting. My son did his master’s thesis on this on this subject back in the late 90’s when it was just getting started. The field has come a long way. Good to see how you are improving your herd.

I did cattle judging in High school and college and I do not think I would want to try it now. Forgot most of what I learned. I did understand the gentleman, I went with my father to a few one day classes held by the AI breeders Dad used even after I had left the farm for a job that paid better. Probably not to many in your area but the dairy side of Select Sires (and others) artificial Insemination used to do day long classes on genetics and selecting bulls as free classes. Excellent information to learn and the more you can expose yourself to the information the more you learn. Hope you and family all stay safe and healthy. Almost 28K congratulations.

Are you buying your semen through this setup or bulls? Is jlc the only bull supplier doing this on ag boost? What kind of program do they want you to have, (vaccinations, castration method, weaning dates) for them to be interested in buying back your calves? Really like the videos, finding more and more to look into to improve my own operation as well. Great videos and information.

Boy there was a blast from the past. Haven't heard the name Jorgensen in 40 some years. We bought some genetics from them. That said if i was in your shoe's, and the market paying a premium for Waygu, i would starting introducing Wagyu genetics into my herd. American Waygu is a cross of American Angus and Waygu. I'm glad Jorgensen are still in the registered Angus business.

You are a sweet and humble man, and I love your content. There is just the little matter of the fake plastic, dust collecting, made in China, flowers.
I can't stand fake flowers. It is an insult to flowers. Real flowers would be in the sunshine coming in, not tucked away in a dark corner of the cabinet.
I adore what is growing up your wall. Excuses, mind wandering while he is giving incredibly valuable info I have no clue about.

Jorgenson has so much knowledge on cattle. They have proven to be great breeders and know what phenotypes are heritable traits and how to cross bred them in traits for the best progeny results. And when i say cross breed i mean angus on angus, their are pretty much 5 angus breeds in the us and they bred them on top of one another based on genomic merits with great progeny.

Hi Carson, interesting video about the genetics you look at when choosing which Bulls are best for your needs. It is amazing how much data they have and the programs they use to sort all of the information. The Bulls you are looking at here are ones that you will use for Artificial insemination and the rest will be bred by your Bulls?

When I first started watching, I thought I might as well skip this. But I was drawn into your bull vendors explanation. Of course I didn't understand it completely, it made a lot of sense and I became quite fascinated with the process. After all l'm just a "farm girl" from a two milk cow, two feeder calf farm. Can't forget hopeless horse lover. Lots of ranchers in my extended family so it's in the blood. Thanks 🐂😊for sharing.
