3:48 That almost looks like an old tool truck. 41:35 I really loved that VW pickup that was parked out on the roadside next to your new camper. You walked past quite a few pieces that I would have jumped all over. That's the beauty of these types of auctions, there's something for everyone.
The yellow box van is a 1947 Helm's Bakery delivery truck that cruised the neighborhood's around LA selling fresh bakery goods. It originally had a 4 cylinder flat head engine, in the 1970s it was fitted with the 2 liter Ford Pinto engine. TOOT-TOOT. It had a two pitch whistle.
I mean this with the utmost respect. Young lady, you are one of the most naturally beautiful women I have ever seen in my 61 years. God bless you and Grayson and enjoy your passion for collector items.
You guess you got good taste as the bidding goes through the roof on the Airstream. Haha, I knew you had had good taste when I saw your beautiful Southern Belle wife. I used to go to Church in your hometown, Danville back in the 60’s when I went to Hargrave in Chatham. Good luck with the Auctions.
We never have auctions like that here, if we did, I couldnt afford the prices anyway, as auctions usually bring an extra 10% over the realistic price, all those Sloppers would bring anything from $25000 - $35000, the Woodie you would have to morgage your house for it, Ild like a Cabover, or the Chevy Pickup.
Just found your guys's Channel tonight. I already subscribed. You guys are the kind of channels I like this down-to-earth the two of you just cruising through things really likes your show. That Airstream went for crazy money, especially since it needs a full restoration . on the central coast of California here, I've seen restored Clippers for $100,000 but that was before covid, so some people have deep pockets.
Next time I’m in North Carolina I would love to see your place. Are you restoring all your treasures and reselling or keeping? I have a Volkswagen collection and I’m spending my retirement fixing them up. I’m a patina guy and just doing the minimum to get them sorted out, and enjoy them. Cheyenne is just your girlfriend? Probably only old bug i could get was piece of one with swing in it at red cross auction lmbo grew up in Daytona had 64 window van it was so slow coming back from bch if came off bridge and caught lights right by us1 i could see 55

@@graysvws I don’t have any experience with old woodies, but old VWs all have a certain vintage smell that I can relate too. Great stuff you guys are into, there is a lot of unique things to find and dabble in.

That second "coach" is a Helms bakery delivery coach. A southern calif thing. I'm surprised it ended up that far east.

Younce motor out of hickory was the one I “had to have”. I bought about 10 others mostly NC ones. A Leroy Canon was the only SC I believe.

The bet the new Airstream factory in Arizona bought it.
It actually went to a private collector in Cali. Word has it, he has 3 of the 12 ever made, now 4.
