lol, if only - although I do hope one day to get a big cat on a cam. The plan is to set a few out where I know there have been sightings. Most of my mates have seen at least one and I got a great view of one from about 30-40 yds one night. It wasn't black like most people report, it was a dark sandy colour with huge tail just like a mountain lion.
Richard I just wanted to thank you for this review. I'd been looking for an update to my old Ltl acorn cameras, and everything looked too expensive. This little campark is just the thing and is proving itself picking up wallabies, echidnas, and possums on my bush block here in Tasmania. I also never did thank you for your demonstration of how to "squeak" rabbits out of their warrens, so thanks for that too! All the best mate.
I watched this video because I am thinking of buying myself a Trail Cam. Your video has inspired me (as a novice) to purchase this model. Thank you. Great video by the way
Great video. Thanks for the review. We're using the T20. Just getting started out but getting some great stuff! Badgers, foxes, deer. Getting better each week!
No worries and I'm glad you found the video useful. My video editing skills aren't developed enough to add music properly and most music ion videos is awful anyway, lol
Might have to get one, I've came across many sites while metal detecting that look like wildlife hot-spots and always wished I had a game cam to leave. Will definitely buy this one, very good for the price.
I have a couple out now which will stay out for a month or so as I still haven't got a deer on one yet. They are set in great places so I hope they don't get nicked, lol
Great review! I just bought one (not this model) but similar price. Only drawerback is not get too close to subject. 5 - 6ft minimum. Amazing tool for the price! Love it.
Yes and although I have some of the perches which have cameras pointed down to capture kingfisher diving into the water they have never once used those perches, lol
Thanks for taking the time to review this cam, good job...cam looks pretty good. The little blue bird diving for minnows was cool....liked to have seen it hitting the water.
I've just bought the T45 and am really impressed with it, bought it second hand, super images, the night shot do have a really bright area I have noticed, when the fox I filmed got close it was overexposed. I'll have to see if it can be adjusted in any way other than that love it, i put a fox video on my channel if you fancy a look
I should really remove all but one of the perches and set up a live stream on the pond, pointing right at where the kingfisher would be sitting when it visits.
Thank you we have an owl in out garden that sits in the same place each night and hunts along with deer and foxes and who knows what else, so thanks for your review this cam looks perfect for the job
Great honest review as usual. Looks like a great bit of kit punching well above its price band. I like kit like this just shows you don't have to spend massive amounts to get a decent product. Review videos I have coming soon will also show to low cost kit that performs very well. ATB Steve
Sounds good to me man and you don't have to spend crazy money to get good gear. Most of my outdoor gear is second hand including my clothes as they are way over priced when new and so many people buy stuff and don't use it so it is available in new condition for bargain prices.
Bought the camera on the strength of your recommendation. Set it up exactly as you showed (much easier than the "instruction" book) and it is now outside tide to a post. Fingers crossed! Thank you for your youtube video it was very helpful.
Thanks for the great video. Trying to decide between this and Neewer 16mp Cam that you reviewed for my birdbath videos, and am deducing from your reviews that Campark would give me better videos for my purpose. Very busy birdbath, so I expect to go through a lot of batteries and memory. Thanks. Cheers!
Link now points to a similar product probably of same manufacturer but features 14Mpxl and smaller 2in internal screen. As of Nov 2020 Amazon listing is still showing previous product design in pics. Box now has product code T40-1
I had one of those. It stopped taking more than 5 seconds of video at night within the first week I had it. Lots of features, but not serviceable after a very short time.
Thanks for the review, I’ve just bought one off the back of this. However I’m wondering if rain has an affect on the sensor? I just checked mine and it had triggers throughout the night but nothing in the day, not even my mug collecting it but there was raindrops all over the sensor so I’m wondering if that’s affecting it’s sensor beam or something? Thanks
rain drops dont trigger my cam-park camera you may fined its rats that triggering it look for shiny eyes .pluss now i have made a rain cover so the lens dont get wet .also i set it to day photos only after i moved the bird feeders away from the rats. have fun
Very interesting PG. just to pass a bit of info on regarding batteries. You may or may not be aware of this. Which magazine did a survey on the longest lasting batteries. You would think it would be Duracell’s given the price,...you’d think. The longest lasting batteries are actually...drumroll please....Aldi own brand, solar cell. At 60p for four AA’s as opposed to four quid plus for Duracell’s, a def no brained. I now use Aldi own brand in all my lights and gear now. Just thought I’d pass this on, hope it helps.
Awesome, although the batteries in this cam seem to last for ever generally game cams are greedy with batteries so I'll call into Aldi the next time I'm in my local town. Groovy.
Sorry Richard, slight error on my part, the batteries are called areocell not solar cell, and they sell them in Lidl. But they’re better than Duracell apparently. Ok Richard, sorry about that mate.
No worries, I will check that out as I think there is a Lidl in my local town since it is quite big - you can probably tell I've only been in about 6 local shops in the last 10 years, lol
Hi RIchard, I bought this camera based on your review to use on my allotment where I wanted to see the comings and goings of people on my plot. In a month+ and battery working properly I didn't pick up anything at all. Do you think that placing the camera in front of glass might cause the sensor not to work? I had it sitting in a shed looking out at the path. So far it's been really disappointing.
Quelle diversité d’animaux ! J’utilise une caméra coolife h881 pour ma chaîne et j’en suis très satisfait. Bravo pour cette vidéo instructive et merci pour le partage. Bonne continuation !
Pondguru I sent on the link to this review on the S.D fourm and have had replies saying there purchasing on the strength of your video. Good work keep it up 😎
Yes a decent buy considering the very low price. Video quality is definitely not as good as the 14MP Bushnells I have but none of the cheaper cams compare to those ones for video quality. Everything else is as good and I reckon the control interface is much better than the Bushnells I have too.
do you have any knowledge/experience with using solar panels with the cams? I have a couple of the suntek cams, the HC800A and two HC801A cams. I have 2 solar panels to use with them, and info I have seen(not that there is much) shows 9V solar panels being used with them. however, the cams are 6V cams, and even show 6V on the spot where the panel would plug in. doesn't seem right to use a 9V solar panel with a 6V cam. unless, maybe they have circuitry built in to protect for that???
I have gone for the T75...got it yesterday.....to try and catch thieves on the allotment....ive set it up...but at night when it senses movement the leds glow.....isnt this going to give the game away?
hi nice review, what I want to know is can you use the IR just to look around live time as I wild camp and it would be nice to see what's moving in the bush's thx
It always clears a bit during the winter so is OK at present but I will be making a large filter for it when I get the new office built as much of the stuff under the cabin will be moved down there giving me space to build a mega-filter. Yes for under £50 the game cam is a great buy as I have seen really crap ones selling for much more than that. Pictures and video were decent.
Hi, I've just bought the T40, but the 14 meg version. I get a lot of footage on windy days of the trees blowing, any ideas which settings I could change to reduce this, as is obviously eats into the battery life a lot. Cutting the trees down is not an option!!!
Great video, very informative and helpful, I just wondered if you could answer one question, is the target time recording for specifically the device to work between a set period i.e. 12 o'clock in the evening till 8 o'clock in the morning example. Would really appreciate it if you could find the time for a quick answer as I am looking for a model with this particular feature. Kind regards Steve Briggs
have been looking for a "first time user "wildlife camera, this looks good but quite complicated, would you say its suitable for a first time user, if not ,could you message with a more suitable one ,around the same price bracket. thank you
Anyone had problems with video recording not recording full videos on these? Mine was only recording 15 seconds when the setting was on 30 seconds.... it would just freeze at 15 secs but the time would continue to 30 secs
Hi I'm interested in getting the field camara that you recommended, I've looked on Amazon but there is a few different ones can you please give me more details then I can get the right one . Is the 16mp better as it's same price. Many thanks
They are both good and the footage / pictures are the same quality with both cameras. They are both low-glow too. The powerextra camera I reviewed before this one was no-glow so would be a better choice if you thought humans may stumble across the location (doesn't give off a dull red glow when triggered at night)
Thanks a lot again, Richard! I'm having a lot of fun with this cam, and here you can watch a recent recording from just over my fence: th-cam.com/video/KEJdZhiRDZo/w-d-xo.html
I've bought a couple, not getting anywhere near that quality in any lighting scenarios as of yet. Still testing them, battery life seems to be a problem for them as well, and recording to the micro sd cards doesn't always occur even still batteries keep dying. So may be some lemons but two of them doing the same thing is curious.
I'm still regularly using the one I got and it is performing fine although one of the parts the strap feeds through snapped off when I tried to strap it tightly to a tree so I use it in the ground now.
All the cameras under £100 seem to perform about the same but if you can get a NO GLOW camera that will definitely not spook mammals like the LOW GLOW sometimes can. 12MP as a minimum
No problems, night vision is good, very good fox trying to eat from a bird feeder. Good close up of a badger at night peeing next to the ground feeder when he realised there was no food.
Please which model is this - link goes to a 14mp cam. I have h45 12mp cam which is ~£30 and OK. just got gardepro a3 for £45 which has better video but needs good voltage - no rechargeables. 12v jack
Nice review. You pretty much have me sold on this one. I especially like the 10 minute video length option. What is the actual model number of this one? The Amazon link takes me to a page of lots of similar cameras which all seem to only record up to 3 minutes. Thanks!
(my other channel) The camera will take videos up to 10 minutes length but there is no limit as to how many videos it can take in a day. If the camera is triggered it will continue to take photos or / and videos for as long as it takes for the batteries to run out or the SD card get full of footage. I can leave my cameras out for months before the batteries run out or the card is full but I tend to set them well out of the way in relatively 'quiet' places.
@@jacqualinevaneck8585 No worries, I'm not sure if this camera is available now as the link I put in the video description no longer works and I can't find them on Amazon. I wish companies would just keep selling stuff which works instead of constantly bringing out new versions.
Hey I need help please! I have this camera and its not taking pictures. I seem to be using the same settings, and I know I have animals where it is pointed as I put food out that is getting eaten. After I turn to on.. I see a countdown and then I leave the camera. Nothing captured yet. Once I accidentally left on "settings", instead of, "on" and drained the batteries in a week. Any thoughts? Thanks!
That seems strange but I had a similar problem from a camera by another manufacturer - it sounds like the sensor is not being triggered so it would be best to send it back for replacement.
Hi Richard Thanks for this comprehensive review. I've been looking for a new trail cam for a few weeks now and doing lots of reviews on the net. I watched your review and was impressed, particularly by your comments on battery life, as I know that trails cams guzzle a lot of juice. I did ultimately decide on a Crenova RD1000, but I received and tried it, and I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the daytime footage, so I returned it. I then decided, based on your review (which I should have gone for in the first place), to go for this Campark. I've only being using it a week or so, but so far I'm really impressed with the quality of both day and night footage. The only concern I have Richard, and a question for you if I may, is the audio. The audio sound is extremely low compared to another trail cam I have which records hedgehogs crunching their biscuits very clearly. And I'm unsure whether this is general to this particular cam, or whether it's a faulty item and therefore I need to return it for a replacement. What's the audio like on the one which you have and what's your opinion ? Cheers in advance Mel
Audio is generally poor on game cams unless conditions are very calm then it is slightly less poor, lol - was the campark used in the same place as you recorded good sound with the other cam?
Pondguru - Yes it was, just in my back garden. My other trail cam has really good audio and also daytime footage is crisp, but the night footage is really unpredictable. It records completely black footage, even though I exchanged it for another, pity really. But I'm extremely happy with this Campark so far. But I just wanted to check if the low audio was a general thing with this particular model, or whether I'd been sent a dodgy one.
I have Bushnell cameras which cost 3x as much as the cheap 12MP cameras and although the picture and video quality is noticeably more sharp and crisp the audio is no better.
I see, think I can forgive the low audio then in that case, I'm more interested in the video footage....thanks Richard, appreciate your opinion and response. Also, my batteries have started to now run low after about a week and a half (using Duracell), so all night footage is black and says 'low battery'. I therefore removed all batteries, hooked it up to the mains last night, and again all night footage was black, with 'low battery' but all morning footage was fine. I'm unsure why night footage should record black and say 'low battery' when its plugged into the main directly?! - Any thoughts on this Richard? (hope you don't mind me asking a further point)
a new kingfisher hopefully it'll keep out the sparrow hawks way . I seen 2 egrets down the river last week which is the first time I've seen them there. Have you seen the little owl any more ? Great video
Not seen the little owl for a few months but I saw one egret on the river in front of our place a few weeks ago. Not sure how much there will be for them to eat as the river is being pounded by cormorants and goosanders.
Hello! I received the one you sent me today mate! Can't wait to get it up in a tree. We've got lots of owls around here, be nice to get some pictures of them. We Hear them every night just outside our bedroom window.👍
Yes, many of these cheaper cams are very good. There are crap ones out there but I'm fairly careful about what I review and make videos about. If I did get a crap one I wouldn't make a video featuring it.
Most all of these cams run at 6v (1.5v x 4=6v). Four alkaline AA's gives the correct voltage. Most all Circuits have a dropout or minimum operating voltage which is around 4.8v. Four rechargeable AA's are at the minimum dropout voltage at full charge (1.2v x 4=4.8v) so they won't have enough juice to run the circuit. 8 AA's, 4 run the cam circuit and the other 4 run the led array.
It was roach and /or rudd fry it was catching there - there are thousands of them so it is a great feeding station for kingfishers. I didn't remove the rudd and roach as they do a good job of feeding trout and don't mess the pond up like carp do.
I've just checked the link in the video description and pinned comment - t has expired now so this model is probably no longer manufactured or available.
I have had misting on the out side of the lens as the temp drops below 9c misty danp conditions is there anything to coat the lens to prevent occurrence, thankyou.
It could be it is too close to the ground if it is misting up but I'm sure there will be something to coat the lens with to prevent misting. I use a small amount of soap on our mirror in the bathroom then clean it off well with a soft cloth and that works on goggles / snorkel visor too.
@@pondguru Thanks only just found your reply, I tried camera in different positions and did not mist up around 6ft from ground. It has become very compulsive viewing nightly happenings, very quiet now so giving camera a rest. thank you for very interesting video's on you tube.
I have never had compatibility issues with this camera but I use a PC - the format of pictures is .JPG and I think the video is .AVI. A year of so ago I bought a mac and it wouldn't recognise my camera, camcorder, phone or any pictures or videos - as I wanted it for editing videos I took it back and bought a PC. The shop said that you can get a program called 'Parallel' which makes the mac more adaptable to different formats but I didn't investigate that any further.
That wouldn't be sensible. rechargeable cells only provide 1.2v compared to 1.5v from primary cells. 1.2x4 is only 4.8v and the circuits inside need 5v minimum. You could use an external rechargeable battery pack. Just make sure it delivers 5v.
The footage of the bat was a bit spooky. I think the camera was triggered by the mouse in the bottom left of the screen just before a large bat flew past. I'm assuming it was a bat but it was in the dead of winter so it could have been a owl making very tight turns.
Hello Great review, thank you. Would you be able to recommend any rechargeable batteries which can be used with this camera please? Thanks in advance Mel
Been looking to get a trial cam for a while now, as I always here something sniffing around at night when Im out wild camping...!! But really didn't want to spend fortunes. This one looks like winner for me. Nice review, thanks..👍
There are a few decent ones under £75 - in fact they all perform about the same until you step up to expensive ones. All the ones I have used have been fine.

Hi, I've just bought the T40, but the 14 meg version. I get a lot of footage on windy days of the trees blowing, any ideas which settings I could change to reduce this, as is obviously eats into the battery life a lot. Cutting the trees down is not an option!!!
That's very workable for an entry level gadget. Perfect for catching fly tippers in the act.
Thanks !
Great overview just bought one thanks
Groovy - mine is out now trying to capture predators around a road causality hare I have put in a tree.
can you transfer video and photos to ab iPad?
What kind of cable do I need to use the AV function on 5is trail camera? Instructions have no information.
huh that might be good for leaving in those unsafe but good timelapse places. ill have to see if there is one available in the states
Yes I haven't tried the timelapse feature but it could produce interesting results.
This one doesn't have that feature and I'm currently not aware of any tat are programmable. Maybe the more expensive types would have a timer feature.
Many thanks for your quick reply, very much appreciated
have been looking for a "first time user "wildlife camera, this looks good but quite complicated, would you say its suitable for a first time user, if not ,could you message with a more suitable one ,around the same price bracket. thank you
Anyone had problems with video recording not recording full videos on these? Mine was only recording 15 seconds when the setting was on 30 seconds.... it would just freeze at 15 secs but the time would continue to 30 secs
Hi I'm interested in getting the field camara that you recommended, I've looked on Amazon but there is a few different ones can you please give me more details then I can get the right one . Is the 16mp better as it's same price. Many thanks
How do I enter my trail camera when I set up password, after pressing OK it’s turn off automatically please help me
enjoyed your programme thamks
Thanks for the review. Could you say which one is better in your opinion the Campar or VicTsing 12mp trail cam? as you recommended them both :)
Hi...how do you delete images stored in the camera?
Absolutely fantastic bit ok kit mate. Brilliant for the money. I will be looking to get one.

Paul
Yes it is really good for the money and there are certainly more expensive ones out there which are nowhere near as good.
Thank you for the good video. Very nice review.
the camara recording just working on when the sensor detect movement ?
Great video keep up the good work
Hi...nice video..I'm a DSLR user and wanting a trail cam for something different...out your reviews what do you thinks the best option
All the cameras under £100 seem to perform about the same but if you can get a NO GLOW camera that will definitely not spook mammals like the LOW GLOW sometimes can.
12MP as a minimum
Pondguru thank you
Pondguru I bought the toguard h45 off amazon
Do they not have a Geordie language setting? 😉
Thanks!
How do you charge this camera please
what is the field of view of this camera.thanks
Does this camera only take a 10min video for the wole day then its done. Or does it record for the whole day?
(my other channel) The camera will take videos up to 10 minutes length but there is no limit as to how many videos it can take in a day. If the camera is triggered it will continue to take photos or / and videos for as long as it takes for the batteries to run out or the SD card get full of footage.
I can leave my cameras out for months before the batteries run out or the card is full but I tend to set them well out of the way in relatively 'quiet' places.
@@ThousandYardStare
Thankyou much appreciated.
Thanks for your help! I got it to work and caught this little guy!

Pondguru trying to share my captures as your video and reply was a big help! Thanks ! photos.app.goo.gl/DAYrPwGWvHgNmcgu8
I just noticed you use manfrotto tripods I used to use them when I was a professional photographer they are pricey but well worth the money
Yes I have only a couple but they are very good.
Hi Richard
Thanks for this comprehensive review.
Cheers in advance
Mel
Nearly every shot is out of focus! Presumably there is minimum distance you should place the camera from a likely subject?
Hello! I received the one you sent me today mate! Can't wait to get it up in a tree. We've got lots of owls around here, be nice to get some pictures of them. We Hear them every night just outside our bedroom window.👍
Sounds good to me and best of luck with that.
Very good info👍
I'm glad you found the video useful - thanks for watching.
does the wind ever set it oFF?
great review.
Not wind alone but cams will sometimes be triggered by falling leaves and moving foliage.
hi does this camera link to your phone as a monitor?
Another good review.
Glad you enjoyed it - it's a good camera for the price.
Just bought this cam, found this video after... good to see it's not terrible! LOL
Yes, many of these cheaper cams are very good. There are crap ones out there but I'm fairly careful about what I review and make videos about. If I did get a crap one I wouldn't make a video featuring it.
Preesh bruddah!
Richard, why does it say to not use rechargeable batteries?
It may have something to do with the voltage. Non-rechargeable batteries are 1.5v but rechargeable can be 1.2v or 1.3v?
Most all of these cams run at 6v (1.5v x 4=6v). Four alkaline AA's gives the correct voltage. Most all Circuits have a dropout or minimum operating voltage which is around 4.8v. Four rechargeable AA's are at the minimum dropout voltage at full charge (1.2v x 4=4.8v) so they won't have enough juice to run the circuit. 8 AA's, 4 run the cam circuit and the other 4 run the led array.
EPIC kingFisher Footage!!!!!!
what were the Fry it caught?
some type oF coarse Fish? i thought you removed them all? (Few stragglers maybe?)
It was roach and /or rudd fry it was catching there - there are thousands of them so it is a great feeding station for kingfishers. I didn't remove the rudd and roach as they do a good job of feeding trout and don't mess the pond up like carp do.
What do you mean by "it throws a light out but it is invisible" please clarify? Thank you
How do I know where the product bought from?
I've just checked the link in the video description and pinned comment - t has expired now so this model is probably no longer manufactured or available.
@@ThousandYardStare The only one I can find from Campark on Amazon now is this one: geni.us/q5tF

@@jackmatthews662 Good stuff and I'm glad it is working well now.
@@Pro1er Thanks it is cheap enough and halfords sell it not too far from me.
I use this camera and when uploading videos onto my mac book it some of the video is wrong file type have you ever had this happen
Pondguru thank you for your reply I will look in to it I also have a pc I will try it on that first
Dies anyone know where I can buy in uk? Thanks
This is a very good camera for the money. Here in the US you can buy this camera for about $40.00, about 25 English pounds
I know it says no rechargeables but I refuse to do that! Did you try any by chance??
That wouldn't be sensible. rechargeable cells only provide 1.2v compared to 1.5v from primary cells. 1.2x4 is only 4.8v and the circuits inside need 5v minimum. You could use an external rechargeable battery pack. Just make sure it delivers 5v.
@@brianmead1952 Thanks for the info :)
I have H45 cam which does work well with rechargeables but my new gardepro a3 will not - it does have 12v jack tho'
Cool .Wonder if you could pick up spooky stuff on them 😉
The footage of the bat was a bit spooky. I think the camera was triggered by the mouse in the bottom left of the screen just before a large bat flew past.
I'm assuming it was a bat but it was in the dead of winter so it could have been a owl making very tight turns.
great trail camera review !!
The problem I have now is that I have 4 other companies wanting me to review their cameras and they are all so similar, lol
Hello
Great review, thank you. Would you be able to recommend any rechargeable batteries which can be used with this camera please?
Thanks in advance
Mel
It says not to use rechargeable batteries
Is there anything you are trying to capture on your cams? I have watched your all of your detecting videos and remember the scary story :)
Eventually I will set them all in some likely remote areas and leave them for 6 months in the search for big cat footage.
Interested!

But really didn't want to spend fortunes.
This one looks like winner for me.
Nice review, thanks..👍
There are a few decent ones under £75 - in fact they all perform about the same until you step up to expensive ones. All the ones I have used have been fine.
I tried putting one of those in your bathroom.....I don't think it works.
MD Outdoors you might have had the distance too high mate ...

Unless it has a zoom function it wouldn't see much....
my t45 out of the box is in Chinese or something. Any idea how to change the language?
