Kind of split 50 and 50 of the wave, ones that are more interesting for me of picking up are the Mr. Terrific and the Fortress of Solitude playset honesty. Movie like Ultraman is not the version I want in my display if figure changes my expectation. Hopefully we get a comic version in the future. May pick up the movie SP Superman. But he'll still not me my main Superman for display. I don't really hate Corenswet's new suit design honesty. Think it's still a pretty good modern update to the classic suit in general.
I'm excited for the expansion of retro styled figures based on movies, but not necessarily about this wave. If the line expands to doing movie styled retro figures for the Reeve Superman, or 80's/90's Batman (Yeah, I know... MORE Batman...LOL) figures, I'd buy those in a heartbeat. Bonus points if they give us a Marlon Wayans Robin concept figure.

I would have preferred that instead of another methamorp, green garner and the ultraman repaint (vigilante). they would have released lex luthor (of the movie), hawkgirl and Supergirl (she's supposed to have a cameo in the superman movie) Yesterday, I watch an episode of batman brave and the bold. Lex luthor, Joker and Cheetah (classic outfit) team up to fight superman, batman and wonderman. So I was thinking a 3 pack of this villains with the classic look of superfriends, will be great. P.S. Mcfarlane, we need female superpowers figures. They only released 4 repaints of the same wonder woman haahhaha

I like the idea of tying the Super Powers line to the new Superman movie from a marketing perspective. I like the figure choices and finally a playset. Hopefully, the sales will fuel the other ideas I'm looking for, like more female figures and a Hall of Doom playset.
I think big picture, this is great for the health of the Super Powers line. Having a movie to promote this wave will create interest and widen the audience of the line. Maybe casual fans, kids, moms will pick up some of this wave because they saw the movie. Retailers would love it too. I would assume we would go back to the formula after a copule of movie waves.

I am really excited about the Mr. Terrific figure and vehicle. I’m a BIG Mr. Terrific fan. I’m ok with a new look for Ultraman. While I like The Crime Syndicate, I honestly am a little concerned to hear that Ultraman is a big bad in the new Superman movie just because he, stand-alone (without the rest of the Syndicate), is just a simplistic General Zod. I’d be much more stoked to learn of a new Brainiac figure or Parasite, Amazo, Metallo, Vandal Savage, Eclipso, or Felix Faust. Wouldn’t mind a movie version of Superman, I don’t mind the new suit at all . . . while I don’t love it I certainly don’t hate it either. I also don’t mind the Guy Gardner redesign, while I’ve always dug his original GL suit, I admit I was a kid of the 1980s and that’s when that look belongs. I am SUPER excited about The Fortress. They throw in a Krypto accessory (they’ve got to since he’s on promotional material) and I’ll be enraptured!!! Thanks for the heads up!!!
A Krypto in the Fortress would be awesome. There will be a Krypto included with the 7 inch Multiverse Superman figure, so it would be great to carry that over to the Super Powers too!
Mr. Terrific is the only figure I might get, depending on how he looks. I am excited about the Fortress of Solitude. Not crazy about this tie-in since I like it as a retro line, which they have called it themselves. If this wave is more successful, wouldn't the line move in that direction?
I don’t think it would, no. I think it would potentially allow expansion to include more tie ins for future movies (or maybe even stick with the retro theme and toss some in for older movies like Reeve, Batman ‘89, etc) similar to the DC Multiverse line, but I can’t see that becoming the focus.
I buy very few Super Powers, but I really like this list. I'm excited for the character lineup in the movie and would like to see more of the women in figure form. That would certainly tempt me to spend more on Super Powers specifically! And of course I gave a big Oh Hell Yeah when you said "Fortress of Solitude"! One of my prized figures (I dunno value-wise, just to me personally) is a 4" Infinite Heroes Mr. Terrific. Such an amazing design and great concept for a legacy character. Oh, and, I very much liked that mug you showed when discussing the shorts- or kilted- Metamorpho. It reminds me a lot of fashion illustrations you'd see in a sewing shop, very artful. We just got wave 9, wave 10 has been announced for Spring 2025, and the movie comes out in July 2025. This wave is likely going to be set for a July/August release.
I'll wait for wave 10, and pass on the movie wave. They don't belong with original Super Power Waves. They will though, be the start of a brand new line, for only Tie In and Crossover movies. It took forever and a day and a movie to push McFarlane to make a Playset. Least it will be Super Powers compatible. Hopefully McFarlane will pay homage to Christopher Reeve's Superman
I am not sure they’ll do a new line only for tie ins, though it’s always possible they’ll do some spin off style Super Powers offshoots. I think if this proves successful, the likelihood of retro movie tie ins will increase. Especially with the success of the retro movie figures in the Multiverse 7 inch line lately.

I think the fortress of solitude will be like the silver age version or the one from All Star Superman. So no crystals but maybe a bottle City of Kondor. Also we have to be getting a Krypto, he’s going to be the Grott or baby Yoda of the movie!

Yes, that’s the same guy! He’s a really good actor. I’m not sure if Vic from Penguin will become Zazz. There’s another major Batman character with the first name Victor, also. So it’ll be interesting to see if he does indeed become one of those, or if he’s just his own thing. Great show so far, though!

i like movie action figure lines, so i am sort of disappointed that the movie figures will just be part of an existing line , rather their own line, like how there were congo action figures for that movie and i guess men in black figures for that movie, so i like it when movies have their own board art to look at

i don't know if i have heard of mr terrific, i might have, is he part of the Jsa? i watched Smallville tv show, and in one episode he meets Stargirl and Hawkman, former members of the Jsa and they have a portrait of all the members, and i watched the tv show, Stargirl and she learns about the Jsa also
The only good news in this line. Fortress of solitude. Ultraman should've been kept the way he was. A parallel Superman... everyone being released if so is going to be movie accurate.... it's a given considering 2 were already released for the line. Hall of doom playset on the horizon...I say that because we already got 5 members of the legion of doom released
Love the McFarlane superpowers line & happy with the play sets coming in but would prefer that we stick with the original theme not movie tie ins it defeats the purpose of these retro figures , & give us the play sets eg hall of justice, darkseid & Doom headquarters play set 😊

i am confused, didn't we already have those characters of metamorpho and guy gardner, why do them again, if they already exist? super powers figures aren't supposed to look like any actor in particular , just the comic book character
Kind of touched on this in the video, but yes, most likely it’ll just be repaints and rereleases. My feeling is if they are going to do movie tie ins, go all in and give us head sculpts that match what’s on screen, like Kenner did for the Dark Knight Collection and Michael Keaton’s likeness.
Unlike you, I am cautiously pessimistic. Ill get most, but Im not in love w/ anything but the vehicle & the playset. That Fortress of Solitude set could be amazing if it resembles the comic book versions weve seen over the yrs.

I'm not buying these until there are other female figures, myself, despite digging the idea of film crossover. I mean, I have like Booster and Beetle and there are no girls. I don't get what kind of DC universe set/team/collection/display they want me to make with this line. It's weird. And I'm 44, I collected the og line realtime. This is like an Elseworlds where Diana is Smurfette.
I think the play set will sell out quick. The other figures I am not so sure on. To me this is a all or nothing deal. If the film is a hit it could bring more people to buying the line. However if the film is a flop and most of the other toys don't sell it could kill the line. Perhaps a super powers adjacent release would have been the best move here. One where these new figures are to the same scale but not officially apart of the line.
I don’t really think it will kill the line if the movie underperforms. My guess is there is some good money already behind releasing these from DC as part of the marketing budget for the movie. And like you said, the playset will likely sell regardless, as will some of the newer characters like Mr. Terrific and (potentially, depending on his look) Ultraman. So I think (and hope) it’ll be ok either way.
@@JustBSingProductions I would agree except for seeing the numbers for the McFarlane drawing board fundraiser they did a few months ago. They clearly though it was going to have much more support then it did. If the movie flops you alienate the people who saw the film as customers (mostly). It goes without saying not everybody who is buying super powers figures will want these as well. I would just hate to see the line potentially end when they could of hedged their bets on this one.
Crowdfunding was a mess from the beginning, with a half functioning website and no promotion, so I wouldn’t necessarily blame that on waning interest or anything. We’ve also heard that those amounts they initially posted were more an attempt to recoup some of the money they’d already spent on the vehicles that retailers decided they didn’t want to sell vs money needed to make them (because they were already made). In any case, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If the line fades away based off one movie tie in line (that’s likely already been mostly paid for by the studio), it wasn’t going to make it much longer anyway, to be honest.
Not really a fan of this. If Todd wants to make a compatible line for the DC films, then okay. Maybe call it Super Powers Cinematic. I would rather have Mcfarlane's actual Super Powers line stick to the classic looks of more characters from the comics. Also, cut down on Superman and Batman. They always sit at stores near me and are not needed in every wave.
Im SOOOOOO tired of all of the same characters and repaints over and over again when there are SOOOOO many characters old and new that they should be doing! It would be nice if they would give us a Plastic Man, Cyborg and Shazam since those were the hardest to find! But they Wont!
Love this channel so much and ill keep watching but i gave up after wave 7. The constant repaints and lack of female characters are really disappointing. The minute they drop an 80s supergirl im back on board 🤣

Not really interested in this wave at all, I really am only interested in pre-Crisis characters. We've seen McFarlane "playsets" before - and they are just plastic facades. I don't think this will any different.
Even as basic facades, I’ve liked a few of the past playsets they’ve done, so I’m remaining optimistic about it. And if it’s bad, the review will still be fun to do lol
That’s true. And they were great. But, looking back, the Kenner line probably would have benefitted and lasted longer if they had offered more variations on those two characters, too. We saw that they definitely went that direction once the Dark Knight Collection came around.
As of right now this is really bad. James guns is going to destroy the line. Better off have left it with Zack. So much of the character designs looks so bad. I hope I'm wrong but most likely not what a shame.
I can't agree it's a waste until we see how it does. If successful, I see it as a good thing to grow the fanbase. If not, I will 100% agree with you. Except when it comes to the Fortress. I'm stoked about that, movie tie in or not! lol

is the guy playing metamorpho the same actor that played Mr Zazz in the tv show, Gotham? he was funny as Mr Zazz, i don't know how Victor from the tv show , the Penguin becomes that character , but he has the same first name, so i think he is him
Yes, that’s the same guy! He’s a really good actor. I’m not sure if Vic from Penguin will become Zazz. There’s another major Batman character with the first name Victor, also. So it’ll be interesting to see if he does indeed become one of those, or if he’s just his own thing. Great show so far, though!

I imagine theyll go big. They quietly release super amounts of Batman stuff each year, so I imagine this wont be any different. Tent pole summer movie by a company that actually makes kid's toys. Peanut meet butter.
in those movie shots, all the other super heroes have jackets that look the same but with different colored stripes on them, i wonder if they are part of some team that hands out jackets

Those are included in the leaked list on our Instagram. I may share them in a future Multiverse unboxing video, as well. Our leaks videos outside Super Powers don’t tend to get seen as much, unfortunately.

It’s just called “Superman.” I think he’ll be playing a younger, but not completely rookie, Superman.
I'm hoping Krypto will come with Superman or the Fortress of Solitude.
Krypto is included with the Superman from the 7 inch line of tie in figures, so that would be great if it carried over to the Super Powers line too!
Other than the Fortress…… not thrilled.
I think that will be the big winner of the wave for most people.
i like movie action figure lines, so i am sort of disappointed that the movie figures will just be part of an existing line , rather their own line, like how there were congo action figures for that movie and i guess men in black figures for that movie, so i like it when movies have their own board art to look at

i don't know if i have heard of mr terrific, i might have, is he part of the Jsa? i watched Smallville tv show, and in one episode he meets Stargirl and Hawkman, former members of the Jsa and they have a portrait of all the members, and i watched the tv show, Stargirl and she learns about the Jsa also

The only good news in this line. Fortress of solitude. Ultraman should've been kept the way he was. A parallel Superman... everyone being released if so is going to be movie accurate.... it's a given considering 2 were already released for the line. Hall of doom playset on the horizon...I say that because we already got 5 members of the legion of doom released
Hall of Doom is the top of our most wanted list, so I sure hope that’s the case!

Love the McFarlane superpowers line & happy with the play sets coming in but would prefer that we stick with the original theme not movie tie ins it defeats the purpose of these retro figures , & give us the play sets eg hall of justice, darkseid & Doom headquarters play set 😊
I think more playsets are on the horizon. Especially if this does well.

Nothing confirmed (to us, at least), but most likely. DC is probably going to leverage all their partners to market the launch of the new DCU.
Cautiously optimistic about the Fortress of Solitude, but in regard to the figures I’m not interested in movie tie-in figures nor how the leaked set photos portray them.

@@JustBSingProductions guess I’m somewhat interested if we get Hawkgirl, it would be nice to have a Hawkgirl for my Kenner Hawkman to hang out with, hopefully she’ll blend in with Hawkman well enough. Would definitely be more interested in a Siver Age comic version of Hawkgirl instead.
She was not listed on the leaked list, in either Super Powers or DC Multiverse 7 inch line. Very odd.
i am confused, didn't we already have those characters of metamorpho and guy gardner, why do them again, if they already exist? super powers figures aren't supposed to look like any actor in particular , just the comic book character
Kind of touched on this in the video, but yes, most likely it’ll just be repaints and rereleases. My feeling is if they are going to do movie tie ins, go all in and give us head sculpts that match what’s on screen, like Kenner did for the Dark Knight Collection and Michael Keaton’s likeness.

Ill get most, but Im not in love w/ anything but the vehicle & the playset. That Fortress of Solitude set could be amazing if it resembles the comic book versions weve seen over the yrs.

I'm not buying these until there are other female figures, myself, despite digging the idea of film crossover. I mean, I have like Booster and Beetle and there are no girls. I don't get what kind of DC universe set/team/collection/display they want me to make with this line. It's weird. And I'm 44, I collected the og line realtime. This is like an Elseworlds where Diana is Smurfette.

I think the play set will sell out quick. The other figures I am not so sure on. To me this is a all or nothing deal. If the film is a hit it could bring more people to buying the line. However if the film is a flop and most of the other toys don't sell it could kill the line.
Perhaps a super powers adjacent release would have been the best move here. One where these new figures are to the same scale but not officially apart of the line.
I don’t really think it will kill the line if the movie underperforms. My guess is there is some good money already behind releasing these from DC as part of the marketing budget for the movie. And like you said, the playset will likely sell regardless, as will some of the newer characters like Mr. Terrific and (potentially, depending on his look) Ultraman. So I think (and hope) it’ll be ok either way.
@@JustBSingProductions I would agree except for seeing the numbers for the McFarlane drawing board fundraiser they did a few months ago. They clearly though it was going to have much more support then it did. If the movie flops you alienate the people who saw the film as customers (mostly). It goes without saying not everybody who is buying super powers figures will want these as well.
I would just hate to see the line potentially end when they could of hedged their bets on this one.
Crowdfunding was a mess from the beginning, with a half functioning website and no promotion, so I wouldn’t necessarily blame that on waning interest or anything. We’ve also heard that those amounts they initially posted were more an attempt to recoup some of the money they’d already spent on the vehicles that retailers decided they didn’t want to sell vs money needed to make them (because they were already made). In any case, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If the line fades away based off one movie tie in line (that’s likely already been mostly paid for by the studio), it wasn’t going to make it much longer anyway, to be honest.

Not really a fan of this. If Todd wants to make a compatible line for the DC films, then okay. Maybe call it Super Powers Cinematic. I would rather have Mcfarlane's actual Super Powers line stick to the classic looks of more characters from the comics. Also, cut down on Superman and Batman. They always sit at stores near me and are not needed in every wave.

Im SOOOOOO tired of all of the same characters and repaints over and over again when there are SOOOOO many characters old and new that they should be doing! It would be nice if they would give us a Plastic Man, Cyborg and Shazam since those were the hardest to find! But they Wont!

Love this channel so much and ill keep watching but i gave up after wave 7. The constant repaints and lack of female characters are really disappointing. The minute they drop an 80s supergirl im back on board 🤣

Not really interested in this wave at all, I really am only interested in pre-Crisis characters. We've seen McFarlane "playsets" before - and they are just plastic facades. I don't think this will any different.
Even as basic facades, I’ve liked a few of the past playsets they’ve done, so I’m remaining optimistic about it. And if it’s bad, the review will still be fun to do lol

I don't think the movie looks very good. And I think they've lost the focus of the Super Powers line. There was only ONE Superman, ONE Batman, etc.
That’s true. And they were great. But, looking back, the Kenner line probably would have benefitted and lasted longer if they had offered more variations on those two characters, too. We saw that they definitely went that direction once the Dark Knight Collection came around.
As of right now this is really bad. James guns is going to destroy the line. Better off have left it with Zack. So much of the character designs looks so bad. I hope I'm wrong but most likely not what a shame.
