    I've gone through tutorials one and two now and I can't believe how much improvement I have made in just a few days. It has cleaned up my buttons by turning them from attacks into tools. I have noticed that the speed of the game in my eyes has slowed down now because I better understand what is going on while giving me a clear objective to achieve.
    Thank you for these tutorials. As a person who struggled through SFIV and SFV I am finally getting the mechanics of fighting games.

      Dude, I feel you, I picked up Ram because I was so used to mashing in SFV and getting results that I couldn't play many characters in this game Ram makes you not mash, you'll misplace swords and ruin your game, these vids have helped alot.

    A big thank you, I've played ~120 GGXrd Rev matches before watching this tutorial, after watching the first 3 episodes and practicing what was shown for 30 games, I've made improvements and I can keep up online with people that played +1000 matches!

    These are really good videos. Great for beginners as well as intermediate players who may have picked up some bad habits.

    Saw Ruu was the consultant and instantly thought of Bridget's 3rd place in the Revelator polls since the last time we got a view of it. I really hope that Bridget makes it into the game at least in consoles. Ruu with Bridget in Xrd would be nuts

    Guess this is what you meant by my question from the last video. I've known about this technique but was never able to use it properly. Of course after much practice from your last videos, I'm getting some ideas...

    This is a nice and crystal clear tutorial. I like how it snaps out minor details that improve gameplay.
    Keep it up!!
    BTW what is the song in the beginning?

    Huh.. Never thought to use backdash to keep the momentum going. Thank you very much for your work and keep it up.
    How much more are you planning to make? Btw what's the name of the song in the opening?

      +AlejandroAugust I know, it's a little counter-intuitive. It only occurred to me (at least as a general principle) yesterday after trying out Arcana Heart for a couple weeks, since that game has a second dash option (homing) which when done backwards is exactly "backdash to keep momentum going", as you immediately approach the opponent after the backwards movement.

    Dash brakes, something that I always wanted in P4U2 and MBAACC, it's just awesome.
    And well, while in midscreen, backdashes are usually my seconda way of defense, after blocking of course.

    Just picked up Xrd rev last week. Arc Sys found me with DBZ, got me hooked. Then I saw theres a new GG coming out next year and it looks really good. So I'm trying to learn the game now, so I have an idea whats going on when the new one comes out. This guide is really good so far and comes highly reccomended. Im playing only ky (just arcade mode for now). I cannot for the life of me figure out how to beat his first training mission. The one where you must punish a blocked fafnir with 100 dmg. Any advice?

    • @novriltataki
      @novriltataki  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What's the point in a riddle if someone just gives you the answer? It encourages you to explore his options and understand the character better in the process. It's also more fun that way.

    • @patleaf2432
      @patleaf2432 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@novriltataki I wasnt looking for a direct answer, as i do agree with you about needing to explore. Maybe just a tip or nudge in the right direction. Im such a novice I don;t understand the choices available too me. Are there other missions I should work on first? Should i just play the game more then com back?

    a question if i may , according to this there two type of backdash
    but what about bedman? ( i know i've not choose the most easy )
    i mean he has a backdash which i think is for evading (since he disapear a bit ) but what about his dash i mean yeah it's a gard point activation but he can be pretty useful on defensive (even offensive i think but its just a noob taugh) and to be honest its kinda evading option too
    so bedman a backdash for evading and a dash who might evade utilised right ( so two evading options ) or i'm just a noob thinking too much ??

      Mam'suh - labo a croquis - I looked up his move data. His backdash has pretty average invincibility but counterintuitively his forward dash can be used as a sort of parry. Btw you had a good question.

  • @Pyjama_S
    @Pyjama_S 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Does Strive also have invincibility frames for backdash?

    Going to be trying to learn this game in the next few weeks. I play USFIV at a pretty high level (~4k PP) but what should my mindset be for going into XRD? Honestly, I feel a bit overwhelmed by it and it's been a bit intimidating for me to try and stray away from a game that I'm so comfortable with into something new.
    I've never really played Anime fighters so where should I begin?

    • @novriltataki
      @novriltataki  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +PugilistPenguin What is exactly unclear in the videos so far?

    • @PugilistPenguin
      @PugilistPenguin 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The videos are great. I'm just overwhelmed by the concept of learning another game to the degree that I know street fighter.
      Everything you're saying in these videos is quite concise and I've already learned some things from just the 3 you've put out in this series.
      I tend to gravitate toward brawler types of characters with command throws. I really like Potemkin. Would you consider him to be a character worth investing time into or would this be the a futile effort due to him missing tools required to be a strong character in this cast?

    • @novriltataki
      @novriltataki  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +PugilistPenguin Play who you feel like playing and keep watching. Sol, May and Elphelt also have strong command throws.

    • @chipslight738
      @chipslight738 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +PugilistPenguin Xrd and Guilty Gear in general were balanced in such a way that any characters as a chance against each other, even if it's one of the worst match-up possible.
      I will not lie to you however, Potemkin will be a hard character to win with due to his really limited mobility : while most of the cast either have a running/step forward dash, an air dash and a double jump, Potemkin cannot step or run dash, cannot air dash and can only jump once.
      However, you can use some of his special to approach the opponent throught the use of YRC, the msot well-known one being Hammer Fall.
      Here's a link to a good Xrd guide : www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=GGXRD/Potemkin and you check the Dustloop forum as well to help you learn more about the game and such.
      Have fun man.
