VFX challenge: Recreate a famous stop motion scene or effect with CGI. Some Ray Harryhausen, or the alien chess from Star Wars, or maybe the ED-209 from Robocop.
this would be so dope
The train scene from the wrong trousers.
Like the scorpion from _Honey, I Shrunk the Kids_
@@phillewis2630 They already did the scorpion king though so they have a head start.
my Dad is a Landscape Artist while I'm aiming towards VFX
so this was really interesting for me,
comparing the old era of artist, my dad, with the new era of artist
Niko is the winner for me, even thought Sam's more like the actual image, Niko's gives me the vibes
You are never going to read this, but the coolest and funniest challenge wold be to undo a special effects scene, adding a complicated and fake "behind the scenes" "pre-Fx" scene instead. As a fake ridiculous "this is how they did it".
Like the dramatic, "What's he doing?" - "He's beginning to believe." And stunt Keanu just jumps out into a blue screen and it's really anti-climactic. Or, it's stunt Neo and play up like he's legit powered even shooting the movie.
@@exosuitssorcery691 He he. Or Superman is Flying and they remove the CGI and theres two guys, one making the torso and head with green pants, and another one lying on a chair with the legs up and a green top.
@@CoversbyCheve Honestly weird just seeing caped heroes without the cape behind the scenes lol. Or with those shoulder and head armours and nothing else.
so like a fake captain disillusion explanation?
@@stroopwafelfalafel I suppose
That spontaneous SON at 5:01 cleared my skin and watered my crops thank you
You guys recreating old school art in four super different ways just emphasizes how vast the horizon of digital art is. You guys really underlined the "artist" in "VFX artist" this episode!
Imagine being in the army and the drill sergeant yells his lungs out while bottle feeding a baby squirell..
That could totally happen in One Piece. :P
If the squirrel was a bear... it happened in Russia.
DRINK YOUR MIIIIILK!!!
“Hey YOU- SHUT UP!” - BoB Ross
I REALLY enjoyed watching this one. Such a great idea! The results were phenomenal! I loved everyone’s version. It really shows how talented each of you is, and how much diversity each of you brings to the table as a team member. I loved it! Thanks for sharing!
Challenge: listen to a fiction podcast episode and create a CGI painting of what you hear.
yo thats a good idea
I think all 4 were fantastic in their own unique way. Very impressive all around! And I feel so good seeing a younger gen embrace Bob Ross. I grew up watching his shows and didn't realize what I had until he was gone. Good stuff. :)
The look on Jake’s wife’s face when she saw her painted shoe was pure gold!
This was such a fun video, corridors old stuff is just as good!
VFX Challenge : a moving Renaissance inspired painting, but of a famous movie stunt ! And each artist chooses his favorite stunt or can make up his own (like Niko falling off of a building).
You can find such animations by looking up Rino Stefano Tagliafierro, and it's just amazing !
We need an open world game made entirely out of Bob Ross art pieces now.
I don't know why but, Sam's "I just put bushes on the roof," really got me chuckling.
he used undo right there
My favorite is Niko's 14:31 because it looks like a painting and the sunset is pretty
I'd love to see a Surrealist style cjallenge, like Salvador Dali paintings
"...oil paints don't have crashes or errors."
LOL. So true
True... Oil paints do not also have Ctrl+Z 😄
Unless you trip and throw your whole palette against the canvas.
@@DanP740 *modern art*
@@DanP740 Happy little accidents, man.
I tell people at work when I sometimes have a great design idea I’ll draw it on my white board vs modeling it in cad. Why?
The white board has never crashed on me yet!
Everyone did an amzing job. Each interpretation was unique. You all should do more
Very skilled guys, all of them. Each image is nice in its own way and has something of the spirit of Ross' painting.
Sam: that's the sun!
(Show's picture of Brett) 🤣😂🤣 classic Sonnn
Sam should've made 2 characters in the game so that he could say:
"Every body needs a friend, even a virtual guy in BOB ROSS's woods".
Literally loses by default for not making him a friend
your body's friend was the player in front of the screen all along ;)
11:05 The virgin: "I'm running into GPU issues because these trees have too many polygons"
vs the Chad: "we'll just add a few happy trees right here"
Bob Ross was a notorious perfectionist. The paintings he did live where planned out, and he had a script he followed. Even his mannerisms where planned, all in an effort to show people that they can make art too.
Even if you encourage people to relax and just try, you also want to show what they can strive towards. Can hardly blame him when setting an example for millions
VFX challenge: take famous movie scene and show it from a DIFFERENT but interesting angle.
The Inception city bending scene from the perspective of one of the buildings. This could get really creative.
Oh, this one has legs!
The best star wars scene, basically everyone gets the time limit of the full New Hope soundtrack, and they have to render any scene from any of the movies
Its good thing he takes his time to explain . Otherwise you'd have NO chance.
I think you all won. The Ross family I’m sure is proud Bob is still celebrated and appreciated
Wren's looks like the opening scene of a children's cartoon! They are all awesome!!
Too bad Peter is not there, otherwise he would show everyone the power of Blender!
Unreal still would have been faster. I love blender too but let's not get over our heads. At least it doesn't crash and freeze 5 times a minute
@@didnt_ask_for_handle I think he was joking on the fact that Peter always describes blender as some resource crafted from the gods.
@@skoyzey1417 True, it's hard to tell without tone. Just saying we shouldn't fanboy too hard if it's the case
VFX Challenge: Create a 10 second psychedelic slit scan scene like from 2001: A Space Odyssey in under 30-60 minutes, BUT no one can use the same software!
Everyone did an amazing job but the fact that Sam made a bob ross like painting/world and you can legit run and experience the world. It is absolutely AMAZING!
its funny, because the 'game' addition of it didn't take him any time at all. looks like hes using just a basic default character and physics. good idea. unreal engine does all the hard stuff for you, in real time.
