Thanks Cathy. It was a beautiful day. Thankfully the jets weren’t around too long, but you should have heard the noise when they flew right over our heads!
A crackin' walk Tony! Great weather for it, too. The Climbers' Traverse looks interesting! Couldn't agree more with you, about those thoughtless "campers". I'll be visiting the Langdales myself in mid October for a few days. Looking forward to it!😁👍
Cheers Adie. I can recommend the Climber’s Traverse if you’re heading up that way. Could be tricky going up by the side of the Great Slab if the rocks are wet though.
Sunning really can’t wait to get up there. I’m currently trying to do all 214 and also trying to mix things up rather than doing all the big ones at once. That said there is certainly no disappointment in some of the smaller fells. Real inspiration vid this👍
Thanks for watching and dropping a comment. That is certainly a great way to get up Bowfell. From there you could head over to Crinkle Crags, or over to Esk Pike, maybe do Allen Crags as an “out and back” then Rossett Pike on your way down. Yes, some of the views from the smaller fells are just as good, if not better, than the big boys. Take the view from Pike de Bield for instance.
Cheers Dave. It was one of the few sunny days we’ve had this summer. Aye, the views to the Scafells were fantastic. You can’t have many Outlyers left now - what’s next? Birketts? 🤔
@@TonysTrails i cant take birketts seriously after i found out theres 4 on skiddaw summit.. ill pick up a few of the worthy ones but dunno what ill focus on yet :)
@daveostlemountainman I’ve done 490 out of 541 Birketts so far. One of them (Pillar Rock) will never get done though. We were in the Southern Uplands last week and go up there more often as they’re actually closer than the Outliers in the far south and east.
On a day like we had it was a stunning walk. I wouldn’t bother walking down to Yeastyrigg Crags though, unless you’re bagging Synge’s. Fortunately the jets only flew right over us once.
@@TonysTrails I’ll keep that in mind. We were hoping to do the Newlands horseshoe this weekend but the ascent up Robinson looks far beyond my comfort zone!
Have a look at this: Lake District Walks | Dale Head, Hindscarth & Robinson | Wanwright's North Western Fells th-cam.com/video/coQFoueNN1Q/w-d-xo.html You can go up to Robinson the way we came down (by Scope Beck and past the reservoir) and then I believe there is something of a faint path (or you may just have to make your own way) diagonally up. I’ve only ever been that way the once in the video and the ground was covered in snow. You could always go up the way we did. It’s a brilliant way up Dale Head and despite what it looks like on the approach, there is no exposure at all. Then come down over Hindscarth and Scope End. Let us know how you get on.
@@TonysTrails That’s fantastic - I’ve just watched that video. It looks an amazing route. The path does seem to be faint but it is there. Suspect we’d go up to Robinson then down via Dale Head but we’ll let you know how it goes. Thanks again!
Wow!! What incredible scenery! Your camera is excellent, what do you use? That walk is a must and now added to my hiking wish list. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Sally. It was a brilliant day. I can recommend Climber’s Traverse, but as I said, Mickleden is a trudge. I don’t use any expensive gear, just my phone attached to a gimbal on the end of a selfie stick. Next walk I film I’ll show you. It’ll be the first one to come out in October.
Stunning views Tony, one of the best walks that you’ve shared, great weather too, must be the end of school holidays 😂. Well done 👍.
Thanks John. It was a great day. There are a few videos to come yet filmed during the holidays.
Simply gorgeous work man, trail looks really interesting and unique!
Thank you. It was a brilliant day and a great route.
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing 👍30
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow stunning views! I like to see Charlie having fun, I’m glad those jets didn’t bother him for too long

Absolutely stunning walk. Definitely want to try that one. We noticed the jets on that day too - they went on for hours.
