In 2017 me and my friend Sean came to Thailand with no plan other than to explore and see as much as we could in the time we had. Neither one of had been to South East Asia so for us it was a huge change from anything we knew. I fell in love with Thailand and knew I would retire here after this trip.
I first came here in 2009 as an attorney representing a U.S. client with offices in Bangkok. I was 49, single, a devoted bachelor and making high 6 figures every year for over a decade before. Then I met a young college student interning at my client’s firm. She became my concierge showing me all over Bangkok and handling any details I needed while there..My engagement required me to be in Bangkok over the following 6 months off and on. For whatever reason we clicked and started dating. We’ve now been happily married for 13 years. She’s lived in the States with me and became a U.S. citizen. We recently retired to Hua Hin and living the life at the beach! So yeah. Thailand can change your life!
Wow, what a story! Congratulations! Thanks for sharing and watching!
Great story!! love this!!
Hey Rob, that was a great Vid. It was cool to watch your Story and see how you made it over to Thailand your first time
Thanks for watching. Fun to look back on
I can't believe 7 years has passed already! Time sure flys!
I thought it was longer than 7 years. It seems like a lifetime ago
Excellent Presentation! Looking forward to episode 2.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Fun video and I totally agree my first visit to Thailand blew my mind and changed my life too! That is why I am moving there next year. I had a great time hanging out with you & Paul last week on Soi 6. I hope your toe heals up well, you may want to see a doctor about that though just to be safe rather than sorry. Look forward to hanging out again ...
Hurry up and get back here my friend!
@@FlatlinerInk I wish heh heh. Returning from Philippines to Bangkok on June 7 and stay in Bangkok for a week then flying home. Won't be able to get back to Pattaya until November sadly 😞
Oh, did you fly out from Istanbul?)))) Cool! How do you like Pattaya, there are many legends about this city XDDD I want to visit there))))
I flew from Atlanta to Istanbul to Bangkok. I now live here in Pattaya. Thanks for watching
i came Turkish Airlines through Istanbul. Overall I think it was good service and decent food, and I think the almost even split the the flight is the easiest on the body. 14 hour marathons through Korea or Japan is just rough.
I’m not allowed to fly Turkish airlines anymore after what happened on this trip 🤷🏻♂️🙅♀️🛫
@@FlatlinerInk sounds like a good story! I'll being the popcorn!
Hi Rob, it is a bit concerning your insomnia problem as it appears to be happening for quite a while now. Maybe you should look into it more as getting plastered to fall asleep is probably not a long term solution?
I have always had trouble sleeping… I’m a thinker and it’s hard for me to turn my mind off… I’ve tried everything over the years. I appreciate your concern! Thanks 🙏
You can't compare Pattaya to manila. The comparisons are BKK to Manila. And Pattaya To Angeles City. Just the fact that you eat more American food than Filipino Food speaks volumes. Also, the Philippines has so many thai restaurants, BUT Thailand has many Filipino restaurants? 😁 the way you broke down the English part is great, people who defend the Philippines always go to that 😂
Hope you’re well brother!! Thanks for watching!
@FlatlinerInk thank you bro. Chillin in the Philippines at the moment
6 mile run after party'n all night. your a monster lol Great vid though love the look back.
lol, I use to be in better shape. Thanks for watching
You still got the suit? 🤣🤣🤷
lol, I only used it a few time and couldn’t find it before leaving. 😢
Great video story, reminds me of me when I was young, back in the 70's and 80's traveling looking for adventure. Yes the suit part got me! I think everyone who has traveled SEA has bought the "suit" at a great price. Still have mine, but too small now!
Oh what I’d do to see what you seen in the 70s-80s I bet that was a good time!
