I live in the north and people talk to strangers all the time. Southerners comment on how friendly people in the north are quite a lot. Certainly when i speak to them when they're visiting the Lakes

People do engage in chatting with strangers in the UK, people are always friendly. The woman in the film has probably not been outside London or beyond major city centres. People always used to speak to each other at bus stops and on buses but mobile phones seem to have taken the social conversation with strangers away.

If us Brits really are bored and need to do something, we go for a walk, and it usually ends at the pub. 😊

Doing a driving test in the US even if they take you out of a parking lot is so easy! In the UK you have to do many hrs of driving lessons with an actual driving instructor. I did my driving in HS when I lived in the US and it was teacher that taught us. It was so bloody easy! The test itself is very, very hard here in the UK in comparison too. Plus you learn in a manual, unless you are only going to drive and automatic as you will not be allowed to drive a manual if you took an automatic test. It's wild to me that most Americans can't drive a manual car! Indian food in the US tastes nothing like Indian food in the UK! I have never owned waterproof shoes and don't know anyone that has. I just spray my suede boots etc. The only waterproof boots I can think of are Wellies.

      And what are you 5??
Sure if you've never left a city you may not get wet feet but that is just you not understanding the majority of your countrymen.
Have you really never walked through a frosty field early in the morning??? No shoe other than a Welly is coming out of that without being drenched through

@@pauline-glitterbugcrafts I was a bit confused too. I think she meant wellies? But leather shoes are water-proof - one of the reasons most people own Docs? I've only worn my actual wellies when walking in the country in mud. And, as someone else said, trainers are also waterproof. So no...I've never gone shopping for water-proof shoes either.

Wellington boots named after the Duke of Wellington. Us Brits call them Wellies for short. No self respecting Brit would be without them.

    • @seldom_bucket
      @seldom_bucket 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

@fleuriebottle almost no one living in cities owns a pair of wellies, they're really not that vital to being a self respecting Brit.

Waterproof shoes need to be real leather or even some vegan versions. Once you break them in they are usually comfortable. I personally spend extra on good quality shoes and jackets. She would be better buying from an outdoors shop as they have more variety and you can even get trainer like shoes. To be fair when I use normal trainers I don’t get wet feet. I think the only time I really worry about wet feet is if it snows

  • @seijika46

I just wear sketchers and they're fine in the rain - you don't need wellies or something unless your going to be directly splashing through deep puddles or something. Having baked beans with pizza is not normal here.

    • @pauline-glitterbugcrafts

I wear Gortex walking boots in winter. There are different brands that are made with Gortex material. They also make shoes in this material. Just make sure they are lightweight. Granted I only wear jeans and boots would look ugly with a skirt or dress! They only time I wear my Hunters is when I’m volunteering for a conservation group.

There quite expensive but for an example, the socks, £30 but you can put the sock over your hand & run it under the tap for as long as you like, bone dry , it’s good gear, trust me

I have copied and pasted the following: "The United Kingdom is the country that eats the most baked beans in the world, consuming more than the rest of the world combined. The British eat over 2 million cans of baked beans per day." "Originally, Heinz Baked Beans were prepared in the traditional United States manner for sales in Ireland and Great Britain. Over time, the recipe was altered to a less sweet tomato sauce with a mix of herbs and spices but without maple syrup, molasses, or brown sugar to appeal to the tastes of the United Kingdom.[20] This is the version of baked beans most commonly eaten outside of the United States. Baked beans are commonly eaten on toast ("beans on toast") or as part of a full breakfast.[20] Heinz Baked Beans remains the best-selling brand in the UK.[24] The Baked Bean Museum of Excellence in Port Talbot, Wales, was dedicated to baked beans"

I live in Glasgow, Scotland and believe me we have loads of rain and I have never heard of or owned waterproof shoes. I don't even know what they are. Trainers all the way but waterproof vortex jackets.

Waterproof shoes can be a benefit in the snow and in heavy rain but in general you don't need them, nor do I wear them. I only own one pair of Hunter boots which are waterproof and that's it. But rarely ever wear them.

    Waterproof shoes?
I have a horrible feeling she means some cheap Chinese crap off ebay/Amazon, thats made of pure plastic.
Good outdoor shoes with sown in tongues is what you need to not get wet feet, or wellies if you are going full on.
