I would check for a software update and if there is no then I would check all the basics like exhaust leaks, fuel trims, oil consumiton. Check mode 6 and see how close it is to passing.
The key stuck in the ignition is the switch on the passenger side of the shifter. The metal Tang can be bent one direction to make it close the contact.
You won't get a check engine light for oil consumption. You will get one when the oil consumption damages the oxygen sensor and or catalytic converter.
good to have you back😊
Thank you!
Thanks for the video, I’m here in Texas and won’t pass inspection with engine light off and a code for p0420. How can I fix the problem? Thank you.

You saved me some money.! Thanks for the video!👍🏼
Glad I could help!
got the same P0650 code with check engine light always on. any fix ?
Have you performed any tests?
@@RobertDotterer well the engine light is back to normal. it shows at ignition then goes away
You still should test it or try a new bulb.
@@RobertDotterer well got it again after a whole day. Now there are 2 error codes. P0650$07e8 and P0650$07e8PD
I would buy a subscription to service information and look up the code definition and code setting criteria and form a diagnostic plan from there.

Thank you, I took a class on fixing these.

Thank you for taking the time to watch!
Can the check engine light bulb actually keep the car from starting?
I've never seen it happened but I would say there is probably some odd ball car out there that needs it.
My car has been burning hell of oil, but there isn’t a check engine light on?

That's known as a "286" bulb over here. But a conventional bulb on a 2011 when all the other warning lights are using LEDs? Weird!
i didn't know they were easy to remove
I didn't either
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
