Actually the twins can also hit the high notes when needed. Barry (the tall one with the falsetto) is still alive - 77 yrs old and still singing. The BeeGees were honored at the Kennedy Center recently - Barry’s son made a lovely speech. Dion Warwick was also honored - she had a huge hit with a BeeGees composition “Heartbreaker”.
It's sad that a parent has to bury a child. Their mom and dad have had to bury 3 of their 5 children. Barry's sister was the first born then Barry. The music lives on
Barry and an older sister Lesley are still alive. They can all do falsetto, but Barry does it most of the time. He "discovered" this talent in 1975 with the song "Nights on Broadway". There is a video of the song on TH-cam from "The Midnight Special". Maurice is singing the falsetto in the video, but Barry sang it on the actual recording. The "one on the right" is Maurice (pronounced Morris, or Mo) the one in the red shirt is Robin, Mo's twin. Barry is the singer, older by 3 years. Check out some of their earlier works from the 60s. Their last released single was in 2001, 2 years before Mo died. And don't forget their brother Andy, he had his own career.
I have lived in 7 decades now, the 70s is the one I would go back to. Bee Gees, Donna Summer, KC, contrasted by Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, contrasted by a host of great R and B acts from Diana Ross to Stevie Wonder. It was truly a complete decade of different great talents.
This epic monster banger with 33 million sold singles was claimed from in a gallup survey of all radio stations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017- every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world and for sure it is the most iconic song of the 70´s decade. It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history This epic legendary video was filmed on MGM Studios in Culver City in Hollywood California in the filmset ruins of That’s Entertainment starring Fred Astaire from 1974 during the same time when the BeeGees filming the Beatles movie, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 1978 on the lot at the same time.
Do more Bee Gees, please? YOU SHOULD BE DANCING (their brother Andy joined them on stage for this one). This song is a classic back in the day, played on black radio, in clubs everywhere, and is the song John Travolta famously danced to in the movie "Saturday Night Fever " NIGHTS ON BROADWAY ( if you do the 1975 Midnight Special version, you'll hear Barry in his natural voice -- no falsetto! Robin in his natural voice, which is higher than Barry's, and a surprise at the end with Maurice doing the falsetto! If you do the studio version, it's Barry doing the falsetto at the end. FANNY BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE (Legendary Quincy Jones said this is his favorite R&B song by anyone). One of mine too! LOVE SO RIGHT (the story takes a twist in this song and Barry pours out his emotions) really singing one of the best falsetto voices ever, to me!
Thanks for your reaction. The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too th-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/w-d-xo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: th-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/w-d-xo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out th-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/w-d-xo.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: th-cam.com/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/w-d-xo.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you th-cam.com/video/CA4CInDnTk8/w-d-xo.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: th-cam.com/video/162GlAEpfrY/w-d-xo.html. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on th-cam.com/video/-KdBVKcSSSw/w-d-xo.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing th-cam.com/video/_6MR-E_Qzz0/w-d-xo.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg
There is a live performance of them singing, "Nights on Broadway" On the Midnight Special and Maurice sings the high notes that Barry sings on the record! He did a very good job!
Listened to this song alot as a kid growing up. The Bee Gees are one of my mom's favorite groups. My mom wore out that album from listening to it so much haha. Pure classic! Greetings to you AB. Love your content!
The Foo Fighters would do covers of the Bee Gees under the name Dee Gees. The drummer Taylor Hawkins who has since passed would switch places with lead singer Dave Grohl. He had a photo of Barry Gibbs on his Bass drum.
That set, by the way, is a Hollywood studio backlot that was demolished a few years later. If you watch old Thirties and Forties movies you'll recognize some of the buildings. 😊
I taught CPR to this video for all my students. It's the perfect rhythm count. I always wonder if the BeeGees knew that bc come on...the title? Stayin' Alive???
Stayin’ Alive has a bpm of 103, so definitely a good CPR song. The Imperial March (bpm also 103) is also good! Also Dancing Queen by ABBA (100 bpm), I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor (117 bpm), and Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson (100 bpm) if you want to change it up a bit! Baby Shark or Another One Bites the Dust (115 and 110 bpm, respectively) if you want everyone around to hate you lol. A bit morbid, but the first time I actually did CPR on a patient, I was humming The Final Countdown - only in my head though, definitely not actually out loud!! The Bee Gee's was a staple on my late 70's radio. What a funny video though; they are just walking around in the same industrial area. Their vocals are yes, truly a gift! Your reaction is great.
The worst (best) part of Barry’s voice is how effortlessly he can nail those high notes. These three brothers mastered the craft of harmony that damn near every group that came after only wished they could do. A guy naturally singing baritone, which Barry is, can easily go into falsetto. Some men just have it, as the Brothers Gibb had, and others have had to train to do it. It’s that head voice.
More Bee Gees please. Some you would like 1 Fanny be tender with my love, 2 I Surrender (promotional video), 3 Wind of change (1979), 4 Ordinary lived and 5 Nights on Broadway (1975 Midnight Special). ❤
There is no tonight There are lot of other other family groups out there but there is only 1 bee gees They had a magical sound A dynamic Stage presence

You want upper range: Dan Vasc - Burn, Butcher, Burn or I'll Make A Man Out Of You. Both are metal covers 1 from the Witcher. The other from Disney's Mulan.
Now now the brothers can also get those high notes just not as strong as Barry. If you would check out the Friday Midnight special of Nights on Broadway (like I have asked nicely) you will hear that brother hit the falsetto for the live performance.
Talk about hitting a high note that is seemingly not humanly possible, listen to Brad Delp, the lead singer of the group Boston when he performed 'More Than A Feeling'. Everything else, by anyone else is anti-climatic, for sure.
How does he hit those notes? My kids and I have a bet going on about that - I'm blaming the too-tight white pants. Watch more of their videos! Pretty sure they go shopping and look for 2 sizes too small ;) But really, it's training, and natural talent combined. The tighty whitey pants just help, dontchaknow?
I remember doing that way too often *lol! And while true, it's more fun thinking about them squeezing into boys sizes ;) My main problem with pants from the 70's - they were always too long. Hovering at 5 ft just doesn't make ready-made clothing fit properly. But I really miss bell bottoms!
Actually the twins can also hit the high notes when needed. Barry (the tall one with the falsetto) is still alive - 77 yrs old and still singing. I’m 71 years old and agree 100% with you. ❤️❤️ the 70’s❤
And as others have said, Barry is alive and kicking and has been married to his wife, Linda, for over 50 years!

Thank you. I've always meant to look up where won Earth they filmed this video.
I always thought they filmed this video in New York. They were never a disco group, though. R&B.
Brotha’s walkin’ cooler than the other side of the pillow!

Legends!!🥰♥️🎶
Never to be duplicated again, they were a once in a lifetime sensation.
First time a drum loop was ever used in a song.
He has a great falsetto voice and he brings it all the way up from his diaphragm.
There is a live performance of them singing, "Nights on Broadway" On the Midnight Special and Maurice sings the high notes that Barry sings on the record! He did a very good job!
Please react to their song Fanny Be Tender...

That was Maurice on the right giving Barry the floor. They were all three amazing!
Great video 🔥🔥
He Held that note.
THEY WERE A HEARTTHROB GROUP IN THE 80’s.
THEY ALSO HAD A YOUNGER BROTHER ANDY THAT LOOKED LIKE BARRY AND ALSO SANG.
🎵🎶😮
Bodyguard by BeeGees
Barry is the only Bee Gee still alive, unfortunately. His sister is still alive, too, so he's not alone, and he has his wife and family.
#BeeGees 🤟🔥🤟
The oldest Barry is the only one still alive.
“How’s he doing that?” He’s doing that casually.
They Banger is..
Too Much Heaven
So happy to see how you have grown in your reactions and videos. Enjoy yourself.
I feel like his voice goes BANANAS high in TRAGEDY. That’d be a fun reaction!!! 😂 😳
Bary Gibbs has the most beautiful falsetto voice. His brothers have both passed some time ago. Love your reaction! ♥
The Foo Fighters would do covers of the Bee Gees under the name Dee Gees. The drummer Taylor Hawkins who has since passed would switch places with lead singer Dave Grohl. He had a photo of Barry Gibbs on his Bass drum.
Awesome song, love it!! Bee Gees are great!!❤❤
Love your reactions, I know I sad it before!! But still!❤❤
Barry Gibb said this song depicts the idea of a chaotic New York City and the fight for survival in the 70’s.
The most upbeat depressing song ever.
That set, by the way, is a Hollywood studio backlot that was demolished a few years later. If you watch old Thirties and Forties movies you'll recognize some of the buildings. 😊
Tight pants were the trendy fashion in the 70'ties🎉❤
It was the time, everybody wore tight clothes! Bellbottoms and platforms! Miss those days!
The best Group ever ❤❤❤
Barry still with us.
SWEET JESUS!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤ BARRY!!!!
LOVED your reaction to this song.
I've seen you dance in other reactions, but man - you can sing too!
Keep on keeping on. . . .
Check out Barry Gibbs and Ricky Skaggs singing "When the Roses Bloom Again".
Thank you for allowing me to bust out my best disco moves early this morning.

Those tight flared jeans 🔥. Well, we women liked them a lot. 😉
Listening to these reactions strolling through my teens.
There’s a great SNL skit that shows how they hit those high notes. 😂
Too Much Heaven. My fave.
My 7 or 8 yr old love of Barry Gibb from that era. It was Barry, his brother, Andy and Shaun Cassidy 🤣🤣😍😍
The Bee Gee's was a staple on my late 70's radio. What a funny video though; they are just walking around in the same industrial area. Their vocals are yes, truly a gift! Your reaction is great.

bee gees love you inside out
They wrote this song so the beat would go with the heartbeat.
love your enthusiasm, the brothers were fantastic.

It's funny how you make it almost a rap with your talk in between! Love it 😊
It’s those tight pants that makes his voice so high. 😂

Knocking on heavens door
You have SOOOO many songs to check out still.
I'm so happy to see you again. I followed you all the way through Queen and NF ! I just love how you do what you do❤
Excellent reaction. Great song. They all can hit those high notes.

Back in the Day, AB, I'da done some shady stuff to get hair as beautiful as Andy Gibb's. . . just saying 🙄🤭🤫😂
I swear you are the best reactor 💗
The Bee Gees (Gibbs) brothers can all reach high notes. You should also check out the brother Andy Gibb.
Barry's still alive.
Barry Gibb says he yells while singing to warm up and enable his falsetto range. He first used the technique on the song Nights on Broadway.
Such a good tune ❤
You so handsome, Babes 😎
Barry is still alive
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 as they always were
Ahhh ~ what Talent!! I hope sometime you'll look up the music video of this with clips from the movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta, and of course, check out the movie also. It’s a special performance from an amazing talent.

Have you seen John Travolta's movie "Saturday Night Fever" ? This song is in it a lot. Great combo of music, dance, & acting.
You want upper range: Dan Vasc - Burn, Butcher, Burn or I'll Make A Man Out Of You. Both are metal covers 1 from the Witcher. The other from Disney's Mulan.
Can't forget Black Wind Fire and Steel plus wuthering heights and Gethsemane by Dan Vasc
Please do “Inside out” and Bodyguard. Both are bangers and true gems!
Our granddaughters husband looks like a young Barry Gibb but he couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket of water 😂😂😂😂
"How?"😅😂😅😅
There's a GREAT mashup I've been hooked on that you will probably like......Stayin Alive x In Da Club
Bro get you an air filter 😂 blowing that dust out of your face....Good reaction 👍 you crack me up 😂

Amazing documentary
Hoooow?? THOSE TIGHT PANTS!!! 🤷🏻♂️
Great reaction! I’m ROTFLMAO. Awesome! Bell Bottoms are BACK!
❤
And remember, this is pre-autotune!
Sounded like someone had them by the short hairs. LOL
Now now the brothers can also get those high notes just not as strong as Barry. If you would check out the Friday Midnight special of Nights on Broadway (like I have asked nicely) you will hear that brother hit the falsetto for the live performance.
