The respawning lawn mowers are just the mower that was used, but it uses black magic to teleport back to the start. Same goes for how it keeps infinite gas in it.
Since it seems like you hate yourself do this: Beat pvz2 but you can only use one plant per level (You can place one plant and shovel it and place another plant that's how it works)

I don’t know what they are, but just spam them and when they reach the amount it usually would level up, you actually get, and keep the plant. I found it out firstly doing it on banana.
