In a partial thickness burn (2nd degree burn) part of the thickness of the skin is lost to the necrotising effect of the burn. In this video we consider the characteristics of a shallod dermal partial thickness burns with implications for healing.

I'm 7 weeks on from a deep second degree burn on my leg, got scabbing around the edges but exudate leaking every day. Changing my absorbent dressing every 2 days as advised by my nurse practicioner. It's taking so long to heal.

Sorry for what happened. Has it healed already? I'm on a same situation, got a second degree on my lower leg too, damn hell it hurts at the first three days. Your reply will me much appreciated
