  • In a partial thickness burn (2nd degree burn) part of the thickness of the skin is lost to the necrotising effect of the burn. In this video we consider the characteristics of a shallod dermal partial thickness burns with implications for healing.

    Hi Doc, thank you for the very thorough explanation. This really helps to relieve the stress of not being able to visit doctor/hospital during quarantine time from covid19 in order to get an explanation of this second degree burn I got.

    I'm 7 weeks on from a deep second degree burn on my leg, got scabbing around the edges but exudate leaking every day. Changing my absorbent dressing every 2 days as advised by my nurse practicioner. It's taking so long to heal.

      Sorry for what happened. Has it healed already? I'm on a same situation, got a second degree on my lower leg too, damn hell it hurts at the first three days. Your reply will me much appreciated
