The way they told Hopper's back story this season was genius. We get little tid-bits throughout, but really just enough to know he lost a child which left him a broken man and acted as the catalyst for the breakdown of his marriage. Then during this last episode they don't just tell us, but actually show us exactly how it went down and in doing so they allow us to share in the heartbreak of this character we've come to know and care about. The music, the images, the editing, the parallels with Will's current situation all have us feeling Hopper's grief and Joyce's desperation all the more viscerally. We hold our breath, our stomachs in knots of anxiety and fear for Will, our own desperation that Joyce not suffer the same catastrophic loss as Hop is locked tight in a moment of supressed panic..... and with Will's first gasp we are given permission to breath again ourselves. As we do all the feelings and emotions knotted up in our stomachs are released, the relief washes over us, and that's when the tears come... Like I said, genius. I've really enjoyed your reactions to Season 1 guys, though Niamh I fear you're maybe taking just a little too much joy in knowing what Danny does not, haha. As cousins you two have a wonderful chemistry and dynamic that makes you fun to spend time with, so I'm looking forward to tuning in with you for Season 2. Until then, cheers from Australia.
there’s a theory that sarah saw the demotion too and that’s why she had the anxiety attack… also, hopper did the only thing he could when he sold el out, it was the only way to get will (who’s almost dead), she can defend herself AND them until will is rescued and they come get them, it was the only way…
Yes because he has the money I mean her family does ok too but his dad makes more money and he broke it so he bought it but wanted her to give it to him.

OK, by far my favorite Stranger Things reaction of yours! Fitting of a season finale! And, wow, the box of tissues was very prominent. Niamh, let’s see if I know you well enough yet. I Am pretty sure you are team Steve (ship “Stancy”). (Watch me be TOTALLY wrong!) I am, and I think by season 4 Danny may be also. Maybe just wishful thinking. Niamh, you were exceptionally great to watch this reaction. You ranged from a giddy girl getting really excited about what (you knew) was about to happen, to a woman feeling the sadness of seeing a character’s loss. Danny didn’t disappoint either. He was totally invested in the characters and shared in their joys and pain. You two exemplify the reason I love watching reactions. He is up there for me as one of my favourite characters. I just think I personally feel Johnathan and Nancy’s connection so much more. I would like to recommend that you will also do reactions on the top-rated #1 world-wide Netflix show: Wednesday season 1. I'm sure you will laugh out loud and be frightened and cry too, the full range of emotions. Plus Netflix announced that Wednesday Season 2 is coming out in October....I;m guessing for Halloween. Hey Guys! Great series reaction! One comment about Season 2 (if you haven't already started). I HIGHLY recommend checking out the initial trailer for Season 2 (th-cam.com/video/bRG5HeNKwKY/w-d-xo.html) There are only minimal little spoilers, just enough to tease things! They did a GREAT job w/ that initial trailer, it's SO fun and well made and really whets the appetite for the season! Nancy DID jump right back to zsteve though. I agree with Danny. Your best friend got killed kind of because of Steve, inadvertently (not Steve's fault, but Nancy ditched Barb because of Steve.

Nancy dragged Barb to a party Barb didn't even want to go to because Nancy was afraid to go on her own and wanted an escape option should she need one. Later, Nancy realised she was having a good time and decided she wanted to stay and hook up with Steve, so she told Barb to leave. Nancy no longer needed Barb for the selfish reasons she dragged her along in the first place. Barb, in contrast, selflessly stayed anyway just in case Nancy needed her. These were the choices Nancy made, not Steve, and whilst I still wouldn't blame Nancy for Barb's death, she sure as hell was a pretty shitty friend to Barb in that moment.
@@TrentRidley You are correct. Nancy DID MAKE those decisions but Steve was VERY PERSISTENT in his persuit of Nancy. Breaking her parents rules and sneaking into her house. Let's be honest teenage girls are highly susceptible to attention from boys, especially popular o es in high school so let's not throw it ALL on Nancy and say she basically killed her friend, because if Steve hadn't been in the picture it wouldn't have happened. I'm just saying there's blame on BOTH SIDES.
I don’t know if he’s read the books or not, but I feel like people who have only seen the movies tend to like Gale more than people who have read the books as well. He is full of red flags in the books, especially with how he manipulates Katniss into giving him affection. It really grosses me out. It happens a little in the movies but I feel like it’s clearer in the books how much he sucks.

And so ends one of the very best TV series ever produced. My personal recommendation? Don't even bother with the next season. It is so bad it gave me second-hand embarrassment. I couldn't even complete a second viewing of it. The fandom overall appears to have completely lost any sense of discernment and will gush over subsequent seasons, but they are truly hot garbage (at least 2 and 3----haven't even bothered with 4, though people whose opinions I trust do say that 4 is fairly decent).
Wow, you're hard to please. I personally think this first season is the best, but despite their flaws the subsequent seasons are still very good also. But hey, these things are subjective, so it's ok if we disagree. 😁

I mean, what they did to Dustin's character *alone* from season 1 to 2 is an absolutely amateurish travesty. (Spoilers below) He was season 1's MVP: intelligent, wise, decisive, and LOYAL. And by season 2, he's hiding a freaking baby demogorgon from his very best friends?? Pfft gimme a break. Max's character is just totally empty and pointless. (In fact, they could fix both characters with just a little bit more thought: how about one trait of Max's character is that she is a biology-nerd, especially loves bugs and snakes, things that most people would shrink away from. And then give HER the baby demogorgon, because she has no idea what it actually is at first...) The way they forced Jonathan and Nancy together is real ham-handed, totally wastes the tension of the Jonathan/Nancy/Steve love triangle---and frankly comes off a little creepy how they execute it. And that ridiculous punk-rock renegade band of psychics like Eleven....the less said about that entire plot line, the better. I could go on and on... Just about the only thing I actually liked about season 2 was Steve's character.
I heavily disagree with your take that the other seasons are bad (I agree about Max though, to this day I dislike her and that's really saying something), but I see where you're coming from. There is a big gap in the vibe between each season, such that they have their own unique feel and style and each draw inspiration from different genres of 80s era Hollywood (which is a big part of the whole premise of the series), so if you go into it expecting the same feel as the previous season, you'll definitely be confused and/or disappointed. If you're this much of a S1 fan, though, you would probably actually really enjoy S4-- it has elements that feel a lot closer to the first season than the other two (and also elements that feel completely out of left field and don't really click well with the established rules of the world until the end, but that's just my personal gripes with it) so it may be worth a watch. I was so turned off by the way S3 ended that I didn't pick ST back up until way later, but season 4 made it worth it.
