This was just what I was looking for, I am in love with the new titanium version as it reminds me of a DeLorean but was worried it would clash with the Milanese loop. In my opinion the slight contrast looks amazing, thanks so much Im sold now!
We carefully considered the ceramic, along with the Hermes series 5 for my wife. Finally went with the Hermes. She also has a series 2 Hermes. Very similar pricing. You get a $ 350 Hermes band with the Hermes, vs a $49 band with the ceramic. That gives an overall pricing edge to the Hermes. Great faces on the Hermes. This is a very inexpensive way to get into the Hermes family.
Black melanease loop doesn’t scratch at all. Just like the stainless steel iphone. The black alloy is more sturdy than the white metal. Doesn’t scratch at all. But the white one can be polished.
They did this with the series 4 last year for all the versions of watches when it comes to packaging. The series 3 was the last time they did the square box for stainless steel and ceramic edition.
I wish they’d still do the square boxes. Like if your spending 700 plus on a watch they should give you better packaging then the same box anyone buying the aluminum one
Ceramic is more brittle, depending on how hard you drop it on the floor it can shatter to pieces. Titanium dropped with the same intensity won’t shatter to pieces, it can dent though
I feel like the Milanese loop and Apple’s Link bracelet were made specifically for the SS Watch - both these bands somehow don’t look as good when paired with any of the other models.
With the series 4 or 5, I can’t see any significant improvements coming that will make it obsolete. Figure a full four years with it. Get a leftover stainless series 4. Last week, Black Friday week, Best Buy had the black stainless 44 mm with the black Milanese’s band for $ 499. One day only. That never made it to slickdeals. Wish I needed it. I think the titanium is more versatile with variety of bands/colors and also what clothing you may be wearing (formal/informal/colors). There are a lot of nice non-apple bands out there for sale that would more easily pair with the titanium. But the white really does make a nice frame for the watch face. Tough call...

We have had these since gen 1. The silver aluminum looks cheap. The space gray looks much better. I have the series 4 in silver aluminum. Hate it. The series 2 in space gray. Still love it. The black stainless series 4. Nice. The black stainless pairs well with quite a few bands. I am wearing a wide Coach brown leather band with it. Looks great. I also have a Black Coach wide band. Not too crazy about that one. The sport loop with Velcro are the most comfortable bands, but look cheap on my black stainless. Most bands look nice on the silver stainless.
I have the white ceramic as well and I want that black Milanese band you have here. Although I’ve been reading that specific band scratches the watch which worries the crap out of me.
I bought the series 5 aluminum came from the 4 aluminum pretty much the same not great d difference unless you like to keep the the watch screen on constantly which does kill the battery compared to keeping it off and it does have more storage on it those are the main differences I’ve been going back-and-forth trying to decide if I should get the stainless steel I wear watch every day at the gym and on my runs and when I go out for me I like to upgrade every year I’m going to stick with the aluminum stainless steel does look best . But doesn’t work for my needs oh if u have the 4 don’t get 5 lol wait for the next one 😁
At this point, we're halfway through the lifecycle of the 5 so you might as well wait. I really like the always on feature though. I found that I can make it about 2 days with the always on display on my 5 which is not too different from my older 4. I think I got a max of like 3 days out of the 4.
2.5 Months in and the ceramic, sapphire, and black Milanese loop is still flawless. I'm actually surprised the DLC black coating on the loop has not scratched. The old stainless Milanese loop in contrast scratched very easily on the buckle.

Titanium is 500, ceramic is 800. I’m not one usually purchasing apple care on products but got it for this watch. Too many potential scenarios of damaging the watch with such a high repair cost imo.
That’s exactly what I thought when I bought my Series 2. That was 4 years ago and it’s still going strong apart from some scratches. I’m here to decide between ceramic and titanium as I’ll use it everyday for multiple years.

They do it to increase the feeling of fun and quality, something left over from the Steve Jobs days and thought process. Also, I guess your new, otherwise you would have bought the Apple Watch 4 and found out that they boxed it the same way as the 5. But a really nice impressions review and thoughts. Just a couple of more fact tidbits...you may not open to compass to use it, but people are reporting if you ask siri watch to find someone in your friends list the watch will open up a map and point you in the correct direction to find them, as opposed to you walking for a bit before it decides your going the wrong way. ALSO vs 5 has 32gig storage as opposed to the 16 gig version 4 has and the 8 gig version 3 had. Enjoy your new watch.

Apple announced the magnetic bands make the compass meaningless. If that matters to some.
Good video- have the Black SS Series 3 now and the titanium looks good. I like the regular SS look but not if I have to always keep polishing it
