Some questions. 1) Can the piano roll be replaced with the step sequencer? 2) does it have to be a sample or can we load a synth plugin on each drum pad? 3) can a drum pad pad be a folder stack instead of a single track? For example if we have a layered drum 4) can midi cc be sent from another second track to control one of the drum pads?
1) Use the pattern for that 2) it depends on how it is used and the context, but you can change the instrument from a sampler 3) Again it depends on how you use it and where 4) you are limited on this one as per lots of other midi options in the iPad version
you cannot do that at the moment without using an external redirection, unless the midi fx can be used as an audio fx which atom or fugue machine cannot do… you can do this rerouting externally using for example Drambo but you will also face latency issues…
@@soundformore thanks for your reply. I’m a newbie to logic on iPad. On which point do I get to select empty kit? I don’t see it anywhere. This is the steps I did. 1. Tap the “+” sign top left of the tracks which gives me “Create New Track” window. 2. Clicked on 3 dots on MIDI, 3. Select Drum Machine Designer on Patch/Instrument, then tap Create. Then it automatically creates a MIDI track with “Drum Synth Kit” Loaded. Did I miss any steps so far? How do I change my “Drum Synth Kit to Empty Kit? Thanks so much! Just to note I’m running Logic 2 that’s just been released on A12 2018 iPad Pro 12.9”.
@@daveandrew7014 I also did not find where it was but with the new clues I firstly added an empty kit from insturment patches than dragged a kit from drum machine designer.
This is the tutorial that I've been waiting for. Very useful. Thanks
👍
Been waiting for this one….

@soundformore Thanks a lot for clarifying everything 😊. Really appreciate it
@SparkySubie you are welcome
Hi Leo, how to route something like fugue machine? Or sequencer with multi channel out, like atom 2?

Once you add your own custom drums, how do you save the kit to open later in a new project?
Top right 3dots menu, clicl to open it and then select save as…
How are people getting drum recordings into their pads? I'm using Neon to chop it into samples and dropping them onto Logic Pro from the pasteboard.
Yes, or drag and drop the sample to the pad or to the main track… or drag and drop against the quick sampler…
I don’t get an empty kit when I first added the track for some reason. How do empty the track for kits?
Do you have empty kit as a selection top right?

Wow, I do not know how I missed this one, sorry for the delay, I only got notified by TH-cam from the reply from tulugurul, do you still need help?
@tulugurul thanks
I’ve downloaded all of the logic music packs but I don’t have the socal kit and many other sounds available on garageband. Do you know how to get it?
SoCal kit is included in the Rock Drummers kit inside LogicPro for iPad…
👍
Great

I tend to agree…
