  • Learn how to create the vocoder effect, or "robot voice," with the REAPER ReaVocode plug-in. Also learn how to improve vocal clarity by using the ReaEQ equalizer as a high-pass filter to reduce low-end muddiness and the ReaComp dynamic range compressor to even out the voice levels, and learn how to use track automation to change the pitch of the voice during a spoken phrase.

    Thank you! I tried this ten years ago and couldn't figure it out. Now that I see how it's done I basically had not much chance to figure it out on my own. I don't understand the need to use the JS tone generator though when any synth playing midi works. But nice to see different tricks. Thank you for not being longwinded by the way like so many tutorials out there.

    Thanks for this, man! I was bashing my head against the desk trying to get this thing to work. I'm off to have some fun with it now...

    Rose-Hulman Online, Awesome tutorial! After following your tone-generator example, I then used ReaVocode with a totally different synthesizer (Massive by Native Instruments), and it worked like a charm. I only with ReaVocode had more control over the band balance...

    Increasing channels will happen automatically when you make a send to 3/4

    Unselecting the master send does not turn the constant tone off for me...? Replayed the video, and it seems as every step was followed correctly.

    could you control the pitch with a midi keyboard? seems easier than clicking and dragging as shown.

    • @sk8muppet
      @sk8muppet 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, you can write midi parts with a synth to automatically control pitch

    How on Earth did you work all this out? Obviously brain wired completely diffrently to mine,I'm a musician so no chance lol.

  • @Jellybeantiger
    @Jellybeantiger 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My brain does not do maths so I need these tuts otherwise I'd be stuck on Reaper rtying to vocode for 6 months lol,TY.
    Just watched the lot,over my head. Probably why i never vocode,Reason's new Vocoder is hard to use also.
    Not a fan of the vocoded effect,sounds like Auto tune,why modern music sounds so cheesy.

      I agree with you, I have always have sort of a difficult time pronouncing this word :-)

      Say it 20 times correctly in a row. That should fix it. :) I always used to say eltse instead of else. Not sure why but sometimes in childhood, words get screwed up a tad. I finally got that one fixed.
