Jose was a bully, but one that didn't have your back. Fergie was too... but he knew every players story, invested his time in to getting to know them and fought for them with a fierce passion to bring out the best in them. He could turn if the circumstances were right, but when you played for him you wanted to fight for him and the team. I have very little hope this club will ever be elite again. Maybe in 5 years but no time soon!

@rubenfrankish Ferguson mostly man-managed very well. If he knew one of his players was a bit soft, he would direct his anger for them at another player who was able to cope with being shouted at. So Ferguson knew how to get the best out of almost everyone.
Mourinho is just utterly cruel. Didn't matter if they were a good player. If they were soft in any way, they'd be there as a scapegoat and for Mourinho to bully. Mourinho definitely wouldn't adjust to get the best from those softer characters, he would just bully them! It's probably a violation of their human rights and everyone knew it, and Mourinho not only gets away with it, but gets paid over £10m per year to be that rotten person.

but I am 100% on board that he is not yet a Premier League manager. His substitutions are.... shambolic? And his inability to crush the players cabal there might mean that United will constantly go through this same cycle over and over and over until we are relegated, and the team folds because the debt will crush us the day we drop.

That culture was there in my day, I got told I was no longer wanted by the club (Academy) on the last day of season, early 2000's. Jobs for the boys. The football environment can be brutal, soon forgotten, look how they treated Keano, and that came from the manager.

Theres a reason outside the game that just makes 'it' not work. This is an interesting video because I've always had my assumptions, but it was just me guessing. I think what Fergie did for United was more than tactics, but more his presence and the respect he gave and demanded.

Signing him was a mistake to begin with. He was another Name being signed who was already finished as a top level player and you could see that before we signed him as he was injured regularly at Bayern. All of that was happening in a Bayern team who have it pretty easy most weeks. It doesnt excuse how he was treated which was unprofessional and disrespectful, which will filter to the other players as its not like they stop talking to one another. They did it to De Gea last summer

    • @ramzinho4985

That's not the point mate, the point is despite all of this he was a model professional in the club, he would have been a good role model for the younger players. It's not his fault we signed him. I'd say we r reaping what we planted. I hope we get a culture change with the new management.

I think the solution to this man utd mess is to fire Ten Hag NOW!!! because he has lost the dressing room, rarely uses youth, a rigid coach who uses the same sytem every time despite failure & doesn't like squad rotation, then on temporary basis bring a good vibes coach to pamper these prima donnas they might finish top 6 then in summer bring a no nonsense coach like De Zerbi & carry out a PROPER CLEAR OUT. One good thing with De Zerbi is he can do wonders with youth and average players....united won't require superstar signings he will work with talents like Openda, Jonathan Davids, Ivan Toney, Vlahovic, Brahim Diaz, Sergej Milenkovic, Ousmane Diomande, , Johan bakayoko, zubimendi, Latin America talent, replace Rashford with mitoma, Neco Williams or Leao etc
The only players who can raise big revenue are Shaw, Rashford and Bruno SELL THEM!!! The market is flooded with their replacements

And at the same time renewed the contracts of deadwood like Phil Jones. He was ruthless with top players and kept dross around.
And you wonder why these players don’t care enough. A club who throws it’s players out like that, doesn’t create players who will REALLY fight for the club.
Tells you exactly how this weak mentality was created in the squads of Ed Woodwards era and still follows today.

Sorry to say Manchester united cannot really manage players, the way Rio Ferdinand, Ander Herrera, Evra, Basti, or even DDG were handled was terrible, in fact till last moment they kept giving hope to DDG that they might give him contract. DDG was at club for a very long time, this is not the way players who have served the club for decade are handled, Even DDG was naive, the moment 6 months were left for the end, he should have discussed with other clubs. I feel sorry for all these heroes of the club, whom club treated badly, Even I would add Rooney to the list.

Manchester united should Hire Graham Souness as their next manager. He was correct about Casemiro, if anything, being too generous as the steady eddie is no longer even steady, and Lisandro Martinez is proving to be too small and too fragile for the premier league.

My respect for Bastian just quadrupled. Mourinho should never have been a Man United coach, so also should Woodward never have been the lead. It all boils down to the Glazers and why I hate so much they are still here and the Ineos also. The Qatari was our best option at moving back as a top club.
