@@JS-Treadmill-Running 89g shoes does have two carbon plates. Its 2nd version have a “split” Carbon plate. Its 3rd iteration has two plates. Now it’s the 4th generation, basically the same as 3rd, just lighter
@thejeffinvade It's just not that interesting if it has two carbon plates. because then we won't see some of the professional runners running in them for competition. I just thought they made it in a way so it was legal 🤔
@@JS-Treadmill-Running maybe a split carbon plate counts as one plate, not two? But I don’t think so. According to world athletics, it has to be in “one plane”
@@JS-Treadmill-Running “The plate may be in more than one part, but those parts must be located sequentially in one plane (not stacked or in parallel) and must not overlap.” So I am pretty sure a split plate that doesn’t overlap from top view still isn’t legal.
How light do running shoes really have to get? My 2 favourite running shoes are around 230g in my UK 9.5 size. They are the Alphafly V3's and the Qiaodan Feiying Plaid 1.5 running shoes (2nd one is a Asian brand but really good runners) I have lighter ones like Nike Streakfly and Vaporfly 3 but find I get a lot more back and better performance for the first two I mentioned. It's really all about the midsole and how it reacts to your weight and running style/efficiency and obviously the carbon plate adds stability and a bit spring but nearly all super shoes have them now so I'd say it's the midsole teamed with you that really matters more than weight.
Really good comment 👍🙂. It's always exciting to discuss and you don't always have to agree. but i totally agree with you. my favorite shoe also based on data. Is Adidas Prime X the first version. it just works incredibly well for me. and those who think it cannot be used for running fast if there are many sharp turns. Might try watching this video. Two minutes and 30 seconds into the video. th-cam.com/video/QazOqKrWjII/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tbY1KUarf8Qa-7kn I always say if you practice you get better. And guess which shoe still won after 1100 km. based on my heart rate and overall speed. That's not to say that it would work for everyone, because it certainly won't. But people should stop thinking that weight is the most important thing. there are other things that are more important. As long as the shoe is not too heavy. Having said all that, I still think this development is very exciting 🙂
Seems like two plates for sure… will try to pick it up in HK during the summer. The 361 looks also very promising as a EVO 1 clone. Thanks for the videos as always!
👍🙂 I completely agree that it looks like it has two plates. I made another video about this. th-cam.com/video/5Cj_DG-Btb4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FkM87kVxS2sGcyOT It surprises me a lot, as I say in the video, if they have made a shoe that is not allowed to be used. Unfortunately I don't understand Chinese so I don't know what they are saying in the long presentation 🤔
name is Long (dragon) Que (sparrow), named after a Chinese mythical creature. Midsole is super boom technology, outsole is a very thin layer of GCU. It is a production shoe and it’s Craaaaaaaaaazy expensive. Way too expensive for my curiosity.
@gabrielhan9676 Thanks for sharing your knowledge 💪👍😊. Yes, the name is very special. and yes the price is higher than a pair of Nike Alphafly but not higher than Adidas Evo. But we probably just have to wait to see how the shoes actually work
Do you really want to do it? 🙏🙂👍 huge respect💪 I think some of the things that most people are most interested in. Do the shoes have two carbon plates, which it looks like 🤔 Then it is not legal for competition use.
@@JS-Treadmill-Running I don't know about the lightest shoe 龙雀. From what I can gather, it's not a production shoe. The other shoe "绝影3", the shoe that fits his hand through, does have two carbon plates, that is a production model that everyone can buy starting right now.
@@JS-Treadmill-Running According to this, the 89g shoe does have two carbon plates, the latest version has thinner carbon plates and different foaming techniques to achieve lighter weight.

But if the 89 g shoe has two carbon plates as it also looks like in the pictures. Then it is not legal to use in competitions. Which makes it a little weird. @@JS-Treadmill-Running yes, it is weird, unless a split carbon plate counts as one not two in the rule book? 😂😂😂 I have quite a lot of respect for Li-Ning. It is often said that the Chinese copy other people's shoes. Li-Ning makes their very own. Which is unlike anything we have seen from anywhere else. I don't know if it's a good shoe, but at least it's different
👍🙂 one of my first videos I made about the prototype. I had the same thought. th-cam.com/video/5Cj_DG-Btb4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TWYlAQSiXoTf8Ss- But during their presentation I could see they had a picture of two hours and 35 seconds. and we know that it is the world record for the marathon. So we have to assume that it does not have two carbon plates even though it looks like it. But I don't understand Chinese So can't confirm my claim.
I'm not saying it's a good shoe because I haven't run in them. but I have other shoes from Li-ning. They are really good, but they cost the same as a pair of Nike Alphafly 3. But on the other hand, they are also of better quality in terms of durability than Nike. Only my experiences. And the funny thing is that they are often made in the same place.
He said "Indeed there is outsole, but you can barely see it. You can tell the difference only by touching. "
