- Hi friends! We're so excited to now be exploring Tasmania for the next few months! In classic Kendall and Glenn style though, things didn't go so smoothly...
In this episode we explore a bit of the northwest, checking out an epic free camp on a river, popping into Stanley and making our way to Marrawah for some surf, which is where things took a turn.

a board chop. Ouch! Land Rover looking good in the video. Lovely place
Oh I feel so sorry that you hurt your mouth . I hope you are feeling better now . Your video is beautiful . 😊
We have just recently found you guys and have been binge watching your journey trying to catch up. I have to say you guys are so positive even in the low times. I keep saying to my hubby of 40 years this is such a romantic way to live. Being honest we are a bit jealous. Wouldn't trade what we have done but to be free to be able to do what you are doing I have to say makes us a little envious. Good on you for being brave enough to live this life, its certainly not for everyone. We don't have a Nigel or a Vance but a Hyundai accent and a tent so our adventures are a bit more restricted than yours but we do love the great outdoors and watching you both makes us want to do more.
Kendall we do hope you have recovered from your injury.
Thanks so much for the wonderful comment Jenni! We all have our own beautiful paths that we get to live and experience and it seems like you guys certainly are! Thanks for following along and enjoy the little adventure you two get up to. There's no right way to do it, as long as you've got a smile and a good attitude :)
Kendall you're a trooper - I would have whinged and moaned. Rotten thing to happen in the first few days, hopefully things will get better and you can enjoy this stunning place!!
O and the bay of fires is a must
Can only get better from now on Kendall! As you said, lucky it’s not more serious! Enjoy Tassie! Loving the scenery! Good luck to you all!
“Livin it” I call it😉. Go you young hippies👍. And everything works out!! Sending love and good wishes✌️❤️
Looks as if you are mad keen surfers, you will find plenty of waves all round Tassi especially down south and on the East Coast. If i can make a suggestion, when you find a great camp site tell us where it is.
This video paired with the music made me cry guys :) . I was born in Tasmania and miss it every day :)
Aww thanks Jacob. Hope you manage to get back there soon :)
Oh, ouch! Kendall that looks like it hurt like a bugger - hope you have a speedy recovery.
Glad to see Nigel likes his new carbie 👍
Tassie looks beautiful - quite different from the mainland in a lot of ways.
Watch out for Tasmanian devils and old bush rangers down there 😆🤣
Ouchies Kendall! Gonna have a ripper bruise there. Put plenty of ice/frozen packs of peas on it! At least the weather isn't great so you won't feel too guilty about taking it easy. Lots of cuddles with Leo needed! 💙🌻
Kendall , wishing you a speedy recovery. Looks like nice area your going to spend next few days. Hope your week goes well.
Good to see you are both finally on the move ,get well soon Kendall & good luck to you both
OMG guys we've followed you for years and watched all your stuff before we did our WA trip last year. This one almost made me a little emotional i'm Marrawah born and bred and it's crazy seeing you guys there. It's so beautiful, hope you guys are here for a while there's so much to see.
Welcome to Tassie
Thankyou for another great vid, glad you arrived in Tassie, however, sorry about Kendall's injury. I hope it heals quickly.
Nearly everyone I follow seems to be in Tassie at the moment. I tried to get passage with my caravan, unfortunately it was booked out, for mainly the return trip before winter sets in. I'm booking for next December now though. Cheers
Wishing you a speedy recovery Kendall. Travel safe and enjoy my beautiful home island of Tassie 👏🙏🏻
Id rather have a busted lip than missing an eyeball, just let Glenn pamper you for a couple of days.
Ive done 15000km with the Weber carb on my series 3 and it runs great!, only had 2 problems both times it was just a blocked jet and i only needed a screwdriver to fix it.
Hoping you heal quickly Kendall?! What a shock, thankfully good old Dr Glenn came to the rescue!
Apart from that, Nigel sure looks the ‘biz’ surrounded by that wonderful bush land and a water crossing to boot!! 🤗👍🏻😄
Yeah! You guys have made it to Tassie. Ouch poor Kendie, I feel you. Hope your getting better real quick 😲💪👍💯❤
Awesome seeing you in Tassie, get well soon Kendall! Looking forward to seeing what you guys get up to here 😀
So sorry to see Kendall with that injury! Looks painful. Best thing is that tissue will heal fast as it's constantly regenerating. Keep'r clean and if it gets red lines leading away from that puncture, head for the nearest ER ASAP.
Go guys theres a lot to see here in the way of places and nature pick days for west coast
Oh no, that's so ouch. Hope it clears up quickly. Bonjella might help the pain.
Have to say though, good freaking amazeballs does old Mr. Thornberry look in his natural habitat!!!
Hope you both love your time in TAS best part of the country imho
Air Con guy coming to look at my old Nissan tomorrow, and I'm getting excited for the road now booyeah
Thanks so much! Nigel certainly is fitting in down here isn't he? haha. Best of luck with the aircon and happy travels!
Welcome to Tassie. Check out Shipstern Bluff if you want some real waves :)
Lived in Tas my whole life and haven’t seen that campground! I better go hunting!
OMG surfing! First Glenn's eye ( I know, a while ago) and now Kendall's lip. That's why I'm an artist - I mean, what am I going to do, drink from my turps mug instead of my coffee mug? 😆
Wishing you a speedy recovery Kendal, hoping you are feeling better soon!🤞Great to see Tasmania it looks beautiful and so interesting, helped of course by your fantastic filming 👍
Enjoy Tassie. ❤️ I live here!
You guys must check out cockle creek the most southerly point in oz … got to luv razz y o and binalong bay
Hope you are on the mend Kendall! Big big (gentle) hugs ❤️
Oh Kendall, you look like you’re in so much pain! Hoping it comes good in the couple of days and you’re back smiling and enjoying your time in Tassie ☺️
Nearly wasn't going to watch this, glad I did 👍
Gosh girl glad you’re alright! Hopefully it’s healing up well x Tassie looks epic 🥰 even though the winds aren’t playing the game!
Awww poor Kendall, that looks painful. What a beautiful few spots you have been at.
Clad you did not get hurt worse than you did . But what a spectacular camping spot there at first . Beautiful video again you two . Thanks for sharing your beautiful travel memories with us your over landing friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :) :)🐕.. 😁👍🏼.
Hey there, this just popped up on our way back from Tassie and realised we were camped near you at Julius river, we were the 60 plus couple in the slide on camper Hilux. wasnt that an incredibly beautiful spot. Hope u got to see the Trowatta Arch not far from there. We loved the ancient forests so much and very sad when we see the big logging trucks All the best on your journeys and speedy recovery Kendall..
Gday Nick! It really is a beautiful spot. Happy and safe travels to you both :)
The logging is devastating. Place that has existed for millions of years, just one criteria makes it viable for heritage protection, yet the nearby forest has 7 criteria marked.
I hope Tanya brings it to a close, so it can be preserved for everyone -- it's an asset that benefits the state by existing.
Hang in there mate, I was picking out fibre glass from my cheek bone for days once ....
awww no Kendall that looks painful !!! Hope you've recovered and are enjoying Tassie
Hope your feeling better Kendall. That would have been a world of hurt. Copped a cricket ball under the nose in my teens and could put my tongue through. I may have dropped a similar expletive or two as well.
Got my first surf in ages over at Sceale Bay over Xmas. Thanks for putting me back onto the west coast.
Safe travels in the Apple Isle, can't wait to watch your adventures!
As a new subscriber may I say I like your wheels ,Nigel aptly British. Hoping Kendall gets better soon. Looking forward to Tassie adventures
Welcome along Henry! Thanks a lot. Nigel is very english indeed. When he's fancy we call him Sir Nigel Crisp (license place has CSP) haha
Ooh, Kendall. I’d say keep smiling but it obviously hurts too much. Oh well - chin up, er, sorry 🙄. Take it easy for a few days - at least you didn’t need any stitches. Glenn had his accident go up the coast in WA so I guess it’s your turn. ❤
Hope you’re okay Kendall! Love your content and would love to see an updated “day in the life of Leo”
Thanks so much Monique! We may have to do this in the future! what a great idea :)
Did anyone else see the fin sticking out of the water at 8min mark?
hahah It was playing on our minds, but thankfully it was just a ridiculous amount of kelp floating about. It helped calm the nerves... a little haha
Hi. Just found this channel. We want to cruise around Tasmania with a dog. Did you have to avoid national parks etc with the dog? How did you approach where you stayed? Thanks Dave
I’m also interested. An awful lot of national parks in Tas and they don’t allow dogs to protect the wildlife and environment. How did they manage to get approved? Keen to know 😊
There not going to reply unfortunately
Gday David, first of all, welcome! haha. Secondly that's a great question. Thankfully there are a lot of places that aren't national parks, and a lot of places allow dogs on leads (some state forests and conservation areas). Other than that we just have to either avoid the national parks, or if it's one we really want to see we will get our friends to watch Leo while we do. It certainly requires more planning but it's worth it to get to travel with little Leo :) We don't ever take him anywhere he isn't allowed.
Not a broke jaw thank fluff Salt in boiled water prevents infection and sore throats when gargled and swallowed if it's very bad
Poor Kendall, that initial shock as you evaluate the damage is awful. I've had a few surfing incidents to know that feeling, so glad it wasn't any worse. On the plus side, I think you'd be great at ventriloquism, could understand everything you said and your lips didn't move 😛
Nice Beard 😂😂🤣😂😂 Im from Cairns
Ayeeee Nigel finally made it to Tassie!! Enjoy guys ✌️I remember you saying you wanted to do Tassie years ago but postponed it while in vance and Leo is growing so fast! All the best, get well soon🤙
U two get in the wars! Glenn with his eye and now kendal with her mouth 🙉
We were laughing about that quite soon afterwards hahaha. Here's hoping the remainder of the year is injury free!
@@KendallandGlenn u know what they say, things come in threes!!! 😉🤣
those camps look awesome are they bus friendly, hope kendall is on the mend
Winnie would thrive in them, no dramas at all!
Ouch!
Where is that first camp site at Mare
Welcome to my territory.
Great video, your cinematography is wonderful! Such amazing scenery and the Landy is great!
Hope you went to Balfour.
Tasmania look so much like New Zealand
Who's the third person taking the Video? Well done! Great video. 😎 Ouch! Poor Kendall. 🥴😫
Did you ice it??
Travellers really need to do first aid course to prepare for incidents they may come across with themselves or others..
a board can actually crack your jaw - worth a doctor visit!!
Hi Tony, really appreciate your concern. Thankfully Glenn has been well experienced with injuries (a lot to himself hahaha) but also in his profession as a strength and conditioning coach (which requires regular first aid certification). Because of this Kendall was in safe hands with Glenn tending to her and wasn't necessary for further inspection. It is now a neat fine scar that is disappearing every day :)
Where does Glenn get his recipes from?
A lot of the time it's made up, or inspired from other travellers we've met along the way. The creamy pasta however is an absolute favourite and we learned it from our good friend Tarn from OakieonFilm. We don't think we've gone one whole week without having that dish! haha
Aw, sorry, this too shall pass, hard to accept in the moment though, I'm sure. I fell up an elevator and smashed my face but took the same attitude - it could have been worse, a lot worse!
Weres the free camp guys?
Which one? 😊
Mifton*
Ahem, Glenn. The expression on Kendalls face STRONGLY INDICATES AFFECTION REQUIRED!!!
Where does your dog sleep?
He sleeps down in the couch area while we sleep up top in the tent :)
Here's an idea take her to a doctor? No let's just stay camping and hope it gets better 🤡
Coming from years and years of injuries We know what required attention and what doesn't. This wasn't ignorance, we just know from experience :)
First 🤷
Wow that Marrawha kicked your butt!! I grew up swimming on that beach we also had a shack at lighthouse point it burnt down when I was young...oh how I love the that place...now living near Derby if you want some local knowledge or even somewhere quiet to camp drop me a line👍🏼🙏🏞️
Wow what a childhood that would have been! Such an epic part of Australia :)
