Awesome video as always Nick and Mathilde. Tasmania is such a beautiful and unique place can’t wait to see the rest of it in y’all’s next episode. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s journey around the world.
You are lucky to see a platypus. A lot of locals have never seen them. With all the logging and development, you have to go to remote areas to see them. Since covid we have seen a large influx of new settlers seeking a quiter, safer lifestyle. Its definitely gods country.
Been watching your Peru and Bolivia videos as we are heading there on motorbikes in March . We live in beautiful Tasmania and so glad you did justice to our lovely state with your video. Keep enjoying life
I walked the Overland Track in 1991. It was the middle of December and it started out sunny but after a few days in the mountains we wer'e hiking through snow and blizzards! It's such a beautiful state.
Tasmania so far looks like an awesome place to vacation. Not too sure about living though. The glider idea sounds fun but I think Nick might need to get a tether for Mathilde when hiking. I’m remembering another van that had to use reverse to climb sandy hills. That water fall was really cool looking too. Thanks for another great video.
Amazing videos as usual and glad you enjoyed my island home! An issue that is reoccurring and increasing in Tasmania and globally is the human impacts of mass tourism. This includes not being aware and conscious of sensitive environments. The use of drones is an increasing problem and I do hope that you had the correct permits as they are prohibited in many of the areas that you have shown footage of. I encourage you to org to be increasingly aware and considerate of local considerations no matter where you are and put these considerations before your desire to promote your Chanel that helps pay the way for your incredible adventures!
Wow...Tasmania is cool. I 0:01 feel like I saw the same thing every time😂. Nick thanks for pulling Mathilde off the edge...I was thinking the same thing just as your hand reached out to grab her. Amazing hikes...can't wait to see the adventures with Tom.🎉 Oh...the platypus was adorable...I thought they were bigger too? I want to see tazman the Tasmania devil.
Excellent video as always. Tassie is so different from the rest of Australia! Beautiful and rugged! P.S. Looking forward to seeing Tom in the next video!
Thank you, you are showing important parts of my home state and my long family history, I wish I was there too! You were unlucky to hit the Roaring Forties, but they provided some great natural footage! Bon voyage! ❤️🙋
I came across your amazing adventures via Sorelle Amore. So excited to see you have visited our beautiful home state. Not only that you have really captured the essence of this unique island . Love your videos. Keep them coming 😊
My first major bicycle ride was from Devonport to Hellyer Gorge, Queenstown and Lake St Clair. Unfortunately I crashed on that road and ended up at Royal Hobart hospital. Ouch! Whilst recovering l ended up climbing up to the top of Mt Wellington bush walking with a man from Montana USA. 😢
Just found your videos, this being my first one, and I am obsessed! I had an emotional response to this video because you are living my life dream. Can’t wait to join you guys on future adventures I have now subscribed 😄
Onya Tom. You guys always find some out of the way places (from tourists and crowds) to camp. Most people visit Cradle Mountain from the bus stop, but you climbed it! The van won’t get you places that Albo does but it will be fun. Seeing a platypus in the wild is a somewhat rare experience for most Australians but you did it. This is what travelling is all about. Stay safe. 👍🏻🙏🦘
Hi. That’s a really beautiful video.I live in Tasmania and I wonder what is that beautiful off road track shows in the video at 12.19 minutes. I really appreciate if you can let me know.cheers 🎉
Hi, hard to pinpoint exactly we ended up there a bit randomly but it was following tracks in this area : 41°49'56.1"S 145°10'21.5"E there were so so many tracks over there
Mathilde!! We met in Antarctica last year and here I am preparing for a trip to New Zealand and Australia (which will include some time in Tasmania) and I stumbled on this video!! As I'm watching it, I kept thinking how familiar your voice is; your accent is, and mannerisms!! Amazing!!
Wow, that's incredible! What a small world. I am happy you found us. Remind us where were you from? Just so we put a face on the TH-cam handle hahahahah You will love those two countries! We have the second episode of Tasmania coming up on Saturday
@markwood7500 oooooh yes! Of course I remember ! Nice to read you Mark! Exciting to hear you have another big trip in the pipeline. Let us know if you have questions for your Australia leg you can reach out by email nextmeridian.expedition@gmail.com or Instagram :)
Hi glad you enjoy Tasmania being born & breed here we sometimes forget our majestic it is, but remember Wilsons promentary is the most southern tip of Victoria not Australia that belongs to Tassie !!!
I didn't know anything else about Tasmania either beside the Tasmanian Devil. I also know Marcus House, who covers Starship launches also lives there. I assumed that the climate in the winter was bad, being so far south.
oooh did not know that!!! yes in the winter it gets pretty cold on the center of the island. the south coastline is cold but nothing too bad as it is next to the ocean
Cool video guys, Tasmania looks amazing. I know who is the surprise friend but mums the word thanks to IG. Love the channel and the two coolest French TH-camrs on the internet., with their friends all over the world. Stay safe and enjoy Tasmania on your amazing journey around the world. Cheers and happy holidays. 🍷🍷🍕🍕🎅
Growing up in the US Tasmania was always a mysterious land - did it really existing? They have Devils? That was then, this is now. And you're going there! I'm not a geologist, but the Dolerite around Cradle Mountain seems to extrude similarly to the basalt we see in Western USA. According to Google, it's not. Either way - beautiful. OK. Now, I am officially jealous. At 69 I enthusiastically trek with you. Don't worry: I won't slow you down. I love the excitement (gentle anxiety) of winds and rain we experienced on the high plateaus of California. Again, still jealous. I always get sparkling synapses watching your videos.
Some scientists are now saying that the rocks in North West Tasmania are the same as some in Arizona and that the two used to be attached. There's a youtube video on it if you want to research more 😊 Called Geologists explain why Tasmania is different...
@@highcroftartstudio There is the theory that the land masses where connected at some point in Earth's evolution. I think it's credible. Would be interested in seeing how the rock identification was carried out.

I run a channel living in Tasmania.
amazing beautiful trip in the beautiful country
so glad you enjoyed the scenery!
Though I’m American, my grandmother was from Queenstown, Tasmania. Pretty island. Queenstown was a bit rough.
I can believe it was hard: it is right in the mining region we show not far from that spot
My grandmother grew up in nearby Zeehan, she was tiny and ladylike tough, and lived to 97! Cheers mate!

My father loved the geology of Western Tasmania, it's an endlessly fascinating place even with the mining scars!
Would be great to get a quick video on the process of getting your car to Australia.
We have one on the preparation of the car in Uruguay and one on the reception of the car in Australia !
That's a nice bus home.
It’s a great home on wheels!
Technically the southernmost point of Australia is Macquarie and heard Islands also unique, But I said earlier Tasmania would blow you away enjoy Guys
