Holy hell that was a lotta work Timmy and team! Great job 👏💕👍 Huge job, great landing that though, good money. Loved the saw guide, smart thinking👍 PS- do you have to use a special mix to bond the coping to the old underneath it? 🤔
I love the way you edited this. The time lapse with music or narration over top - hitting the significant points - just perfect! Thanks for sharing these projects with us. I never would have thought you could make a 2 x 10 curve like that without breaking... slits and soak in water... okay. Well, now I know.
Thank you David Odell and all your workers who do just awesome craftsmanship in a very tough medium. And concrete is hard to work with all the day long. I worked alongside of concrete workers as a carpenters assistant over 40 years ago and I still marvel in remembrance of their skill and dedication.
Unbelievable! Awesome job on coping. We had poured in place coping installed two years ago by a firm in N Cal and they had to redo 3 times and never did as well as you.
Great episode. This is going to be a good series. Tim we really want to hear you on guitar and singing again like in the summer. I think you should take song requests and the first request is - "Always Sunshine When Dads Gone". Sorry David.
You can put them a lot closer together because they’re hardly noticeable and since they’re closer together the coping won’t crack. They also look a lot cleaner.
Hey Odell, I wanted to do a 12x20 pad for a shed. how thick on the edges would you recommend? I wanted a thickened edge. And also how thick in the center?
When you’re setting the cantilever forms, we always just set a transit or laser level in the middle of the pool. Then we choose the highest point in the shotcrete to go off of. Y’all probably know this though lol
That is some $$$$$ big money for the work you are going to do. How are you going to clean up the pool with all that filth inside it? might as well just pour new cement inside and seal in the dust and bacteria.
Oh wow, thats SUPER bad to connect runoff to sewer system.... That is illigal in almost all municipalities. If an inspector ever saw that, the home owner could be in for a world of hurt. Rain runoff needs to go to the street, where the city rain water collection system cant pick it up. that is seperated from the sewer and is NOT TIED in most places. Some older cities that built their storm and sewer systems together and havent been split due to cost and the size of those places is so tiny, deal with sewage a diff way. But if the storm is tied to sewer, that overwhelms the treatment plants with massive ammounts of exxcess water, and places like Phoenix that COLLECT storm water in MASSIVE underground and above ground tanks to treat and send as treated water and clean water for the Purple water lines. But if you drain your pool, you must always drain INTO your sewer as that water is full of chemicals and must be treated. It can not be fed into the storm drains where it can contaminate clean water and possibably kill local wildlife and such.
The fearless one! Good job mang👍
Thank you 🙏
Odell quality is always top quality and always a pleasure to observe in progress.
Thank you!
The thin cuts 16” on center make it look like tile. Great job.
Exactly 🙌
All the old concrete that came up looked perfectly good on video. Did it suck IRL?
Yea it was sucky, wait until part 3 to see the difference we made. Night and day
nice JIG for the cuts on the coping
Yea that was a sweet set up

No, it's better not to bond
@@OdellCompleteConcrete ohh for movement and shifting

Yes its quite surprising. Thank you !
Great job as always, didn’t see anything wrong with the original concrete though
New concrete will be diamond grid and all one cohesive piece
A ton of work to do what you guys did. Looks great. I really like how you cut the 2X's to bend them for the radius.
Thanks! That’s a tricky move to pull off
I enjoy all y’all’s videos!
Where was Timmy?
Different job

Nice job, as usual!
You got it! Thanks!

It's a real art

Nice work as always
Ty
That’s gonna be a lot of concrete there. Those steps are gonna come out awesome though I like the way you guys bent those up in the front.
Yes

Good job. God bless you all .
Thank you!

Yup it’s a good one ☝️ 👍
great job as always

Its a fun hobby. Glad you enjoyed!
Great video! I’m excited to watch this series! Y’all always do beautiful, meticulous work! Great start today!❤❤❤
Thanks for watching! 👆👍
Do you take the broken concrete to a rock yard where they break it down and re use it.
Yes I do
So rad!
Right on 😎
How far will you guys travel for work? Let’s say northern LA County, Antelope Valley.
If the job is worth it we will come out and do it! What do you need done?
What's the advantage of cutting the joints after the concrete is dried?

Oh ok. Thanks!
Hey Odell,
I wanted to do a 12x20 pad for a shed.
how thick on the edges would you recommend?
I wanted a thickened edge.
And also how thick in the center?
I did one couple months ago. 4" center and around 6" around perimeter 👍
4 in the middle, 12" on the edges
Pretty big project at a curiosity how much $ was the concrete$ thank you for another great video.
50,000
Very Very Nice
Ty
The pool coping concrete you mixed by hand in a wheelbarrow? That's a lotta material.
Why the driveway it didnt look bad ??
We’re going to make it much nicer
Do you not use PVC cement in the US?
Yes
Do you think 5,080 is too much to ask for 80'X4'X4" side walk with 1/2" rebar 18" on center?
Thats including materials and everything.
Sounds good
How much was this project? Great work!!
50000
50k job? just curious
Bingo

I hope it was the owner to decide the waste of money replacing all of the good concrete over a cut pattern
Yes it was all cracked up and different pieces everywhere. We remodeled his entire backyard and frontyard. Wait for part 2 and 3
In our area code violation. 100% no ground water run off.
Bummer, sounds like Newport or a beach City
Hold on, wait a minute, stop the presses. Did I hear you say that his old existing drain was hooked up to a sewer😂😂😂 that is kind of shity?
Yes exactly
Would not say tied into sewer. Code enforcement will be out writing tickets.
Yes we had to cut it off, abandon it, and run all new
That is some $$$$$ big money for the work you are going to do. How are you going to clean up the pool with all that filth inside it? might as well just pour new cement inside and seal in the dust and bacteria.
The pool is getting new plaster
Most of original concrete looked OK to me.
Yes
That pool is way to deep. 50% will never get used.
Yes he’s lucky it was built a long time ago, can’t build them that deep anymore

Exactly that’s why we had to dis abandon the old system
