    You beautiful specimen Sloth! Thanks for taking this deck to the ladder on your stage! Means a lot! I’ve been playing this deck and many versions since toxic came out, and the version I use is what has worked for me, but this version is an upgrade, it’s always good to have a more experienced/pro player fine tune a good deck! I played my azorious poi deck in a standard event last week and went 5-0 I did include 2 copies of get lost 1 smite and a field of ruin from my sideboard!
    I’ve said this alot but poison/infect is by far my favorite mechanic in magic right next to self wound effects like “enrage” and orzhov sacrifice. Top 3 mechanics I love dearly! But alot of these are hard to play in standard due to the meta. I have a deck I’m building and trying to fine tune for standard that’s a poison deck but it’s BANT colors and features shigeki! Oh it’s a beaut. Currently sitting at 6-3 on standard play. All I can say is ppl are scared of rot priest and any poison deck just needs that 1 instance of 1:42 infect to get going!
    Any who, cheers sloth!

      Hey Bro!:) I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed the video! (and a bit relieved - wasn't sure if you will like the new version, as there were some changes) ❤
      Poison is really interesting mechanic to counter slow, defensive decks like Atraxa ramp or just mono white control (actually, this is a perfect counter, as they tend to play 100-200 cards often to counter Jace) - so very cool idea indeed:) Especially as we both had nice results with it - so it tells a lot!
      Also, good luck on your bant one - sounds neat🔥 :) And thanks for comment, hoped to see you here and that you will enjoy the video❤🦥 I had huge fun making this one, so thanks to you as well! :)
      Cheers my friend!:)

    Amazing deck and I really appreciate the end of the video, I think I still struggle in deck building, 'cause anytime I build a deck on my own it feels like it misses something, but I really can't tell what 😂, so I'm really glad you included that part where you explain why and what you changed on the deck ❤

    I am yet to really immerse myself playing with a Toxic archetype.
    Coincidentally from when I started playing recently I fell in love with the Control archetype.
    I definitely do not enjoy nor like playing "Mono Red", so annoying... 😂
    I have started practicing with this deck and after an initial 3 - 4 back to back L's as I get myself acquainted, now, as per your video title, this poison control just can't lose.
    I am currently grinding Mythic 96%+ using this poison control and am excited to see what my deck stats will be after a 100+ match sample.
    As my game is not flawless at this current time and I probably make just as many play errors as the average rookie, still, I predict even after a 100 - 300 match sample, I am confident I can average 55% - 62% but time will tell.
    Thank you for another very insightful and educational video using an amazing deck strategy, Win Con, etc, and most importantly, your Final Impressions segments I find most valuable of all your videos as it really helps one get a better understanding of the deck tech and common play patterns one should be looking to throw down when playing with whatever deck you are so kindly sharing with your subscribers.
    Thank you Sloth!
    See you in the next video! 🙂

    The deck doesn't seem consistent but I do enjoy the creative brewing.
    One suggestion: Swapping out Memory Deluge for Farsight Ritual would make sense, especially with how well it synergizes with tokens from Sunfall, Mirrex, Maps, and most especially Arcane Proxy. Deluge is a wonderful card but it can't be dug up effectively by Proxy, as it would be cast for 0 mana.
    As always, I love the content, brews, and commentary. Keep it up!

      @@SlothMtg The card doesn't get enough love and triggering bargain is very easy in the right deck. I have a U/W Jewel deck I've been using it in, replacing Deluge. Very nice synergy with Collector's Vault. Cheers!

    What’s with all the warnings about crafting those virtues? I have 51 mythic wildcards, don’t tell me what not to craft (and I already have a set of blue virtues from drafting woe). On a serious note, I like your build of the deck. There’s a lot of similarities to the inevitability of the jace mill plan. Is the poison plan better than the jace mill plan in terms of inevitable win conditions?

    • @SlothMtg
      @SlothMtg  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because I know a lot of players really work for each single Mythic Rare, so burning 3 by accident would mean weeks of wasted progress :) And it's very niche card. I wasn't specifically talking about your vault my friend 😂❤
      Regarding the question - indeed, it feels super similar to Jace, inevitable, slow, and kills without any chance of them recovering. I think Jace is still better, except growing number of 100+ card decks, that I believe are taking inspiration from CGB's Mono white deck :) There, Jace doesn't work at all, but poison is autowin most of the time. They don't have any answer to that, and they can't kill you in time usually.

    What's your take on vat of rebirth? I've gotten to mythic with it (using 4 copies) by reanimating atraxa/titan of industry alongside cruelty of gix, getting a surprisingly high winrate (its a rakdos deck btw). I don't understand why nobody runs it. Love the vids btw.

    • @SlothMtg
      @SlothMtg  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think I showcased rakdos deck with it - and it was pretty fun and pretty strong, but probably it's easier to just play atraxa ramp, and get her faster, while having sunfalls, leylines etc. But vat is pretty ok, I think we don't see it just because other options are even better.

    Arcane Proxy really should have Flash at Mythic rarity, I think? It would be suitably strong then to be playable in a lot more decks than it is now.

    • @SlothMtg
      @SlothMtg  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Tbh, I think it would be too strong - as this would mean it can also use counterspells, and be basically always a perfect answer. With 2 modes, body for blocks, it would just be too much versatility - it would be basically gearhulk (smth) from historic :)

    • @undahraadaundahraada5594
      @undahraadaundahraada5594 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess so. Snapcaster was very strong, and didn't cast the spell for free. I just feel that it's too weak in it's current form, and I like to brainstorm how to redeem these kind of cards that have a strong effect that is very desirable, yet don't often see play 🙂. You can see that it evidently was too strong in playtesting as a straightforward ETB, since you have to actually cast it and can't use flicker or reanimate shenanigans... Perhaps there's no way to fix it that doesn't, paradoxically, break it 😆@@SlothMtg

    “I hoped that it would be mono red because I wanted to not have fun.” While playing control. This is either the least self-aware complaint ever, or maybe no one is happy playing magic against anyone, ever.

    • @SlothMtg
      @SlothMtg  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      It's always weird to me how playing full 20+ turns game as control, is ever equaled to playing 3 cards and finishing game before opponent played single card. One is full gameplay, 2nd is pure non-game. It's cool if that's how you feel, just weird how someone can equal those 2 things (especially with counterspells being nerfed to oblivion, even though it's only 1 for 1 card).
      Btw, I play a lot against control, and those are most interesting matchups (as it matters who plays the deck, contrary to mono red games)

    • @FlyingSpaceOstrich
      @FlyingSpaceOstrich 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I used to feel that way. But after losing to mono red over and over on turn 4 because of a coin flip, you might as well be playing a slot machine. You have very few decisions to make that control the outcome of the game. That isn’t fun to me.
      Playing against control however, is fun, because you have to pace your threats, no when to jam spells, etc. And it feels way more rewarding when you finally beat them even after
      they cast their 4th sweeper.

    • @Kushiel13
      @Kushiel13 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SlothMtg In case our definitions don't match, I say control to refer to any deck that hopes to deny the opponent's plan first and win in the late game, when that player is out of cards. You enjoy playing against control, when you are also control. Of course you do! Playing a similar deck will feel even, because both of you are able to win at the same pace.
      When archetypes don't match, that's when MtG can feel like rock-paper-scissors, and aggro beats your preferred play style. If that isn't fun to you, I get it. But no one who isn't control enjoys getting countered, so can you really complain?
