I really enjoyed this (both videos about the Battlle of Perryville) my mother's family located to Perry County, KY in 1821. My papaw, named General Lee Brashear (numerous other cousins were named Robert Lee - I guess my great grandfather wanted to set my papaw apart). Papaw was born in 1886 in the tiny town called Viper. His Brashear branch came to despise slavery but, due to the issue of States' rights, they were Confederate sympathizers. My mamaw was a Hall, born in 1894. Her branch of the Hall family were Union sympathizers! I've scratched my head over that one!! My late father was a history fanatic and over several years, Dad took us on vacation to as many battlefields as we could reach and recited to my brother and me what took place on those battlefields from his studies! I love history; so did my late husband! Thanks for your presentations.

Just for into. The Brashear family was originally, like,y, de Brassier or Brasseur, when brothers, Hugo acts, immigrated from France, arriving in 1637, settling in Maryland for quite some where a family home was built in 1651 and still being lived in in at least the 1960s. We became Kentuckians in 1831😊 the name is spelled 47 different ways...but it all springs from ONE ancestor - and it has been a VERY prolific family. At some point in the past, my papaw, who had a college degree, and worked for a time as a surveyor, ran for office ub Perry County but lost. We Brashears and Halls and close relatives, the Ritchies (including the late Jean Ritchie who grew up with, and across the branch from, my mom) have had a whole bunch of tales to tell
