❤you're the best thank you
At 72 years old and the fifth day of Covid and I also have early onset Alzheimer’s. I remembered some of the tricks to fix my garbage disposal especially the one we used to use an Allen wrench, I hadn’t kept the wrench. I couldn’t quite remember, so I went down step-by-step to eliminated causes and finally got to the allen wrench and luckily I had one in my tool box , I turned it back forth and success ! Thank you so much. I’m subscribing. I forgot to tell you I’m female and followed my dad everywhere. Oh and I have a husband that didn’t know what Allen wrench was. I said to him what are you going to do without me that’ll be 200.. bucks please 😂
OMG! I flipped the switch, disposal hummed, then went silent. Turned it off, turned the grinder with my tool. It was stuck so I swivwledit back and forth. Go it loose. Nothing in it to jam it.
Checked the breaker box. All good. Plugged in tight. Watched your video and you showed the Reset button. Got my flashlight, looked and sure enough! button was popped out. Pushed it back in, turned the water on and flipped the switch. Oila! Works like a champ! I am 82 years old and can follow directions! Thank you so much for the very clear steps for checking everything.
What if my reset button is not pushed put how can I get it to pop out so I can push it in again.
Thanks bro cause of you me and my dad saved 150 bucks
Went away on a 3-week vacation and came back to my Insinkerator humming, with a burnt fish smell and a wee bit of smoke. Was about to head out to HomeDepot for a replacement, saw this wrench thing, and TH-cam’d the wrench - found this video. Saved myself a couple hundred bucks (it wasn’t even that stuck - rotated with minimal force)!!! Thank You!!
Thank you! I had this situation before with a different disposal. It was easy after following instructions. It turned rather easily. Fast forward to a different garbage disposal same brand. It wouldn’t budge until I tried the dowel back and forth and poured in some vegetable oil ! Presto it worked. My 22yr old son was my assistant holding the light and turning the Allen wrench. He was so proud of me/us.

You are so awesome of a person to post such a helpful video. Mine stopped working and I immediately started looking for a new one. Thank you so much.
The American way right? Most people don't fix things. Sad that we have become (no pun intended) such a disposable society😞
@@dianeibsen5994 "Most people actually DO fix things because they're too expensive to have them fixed by the "pros"... That's why we have videos like these that we can come to to do it ourselves. The press of a button, and it's done by ourselves.... Plain and simple. 😁
Thanks so much! I was able to reset my garbage disposal. Man I love TH-cam!
May GOD Bless this guy and others who do diy videos like this……saving so many people especially in these expensive times.
A FREAKING MEN
indeed
Hello sir! As a new homeowner who is tired of paying maintenance people to fix things, I'm grateful for this video - thanks!!
I had the buzzing sound after button reset, and the Allen wrench fixed it along with a tiny bitt of vegetable oil. You saved the day, thank you this is very valuable to everyone in this bind. 😅
The step by step process helped. Had to turn the red button at bottom and then got the humming sound. Then turned with the wrench at the bottom and its back to life. You are a rockstar !!
Its 2 am my husband just left to work . Come on you tube, found ur video. It worked Thanks alot.
God bless you! I thought my garbage disposal was broken, but it was just jammed. The tip to use the tool to unjam it worked. Thank you for sharing this information.
Thank you! Especially for showing the tool that came with the disposal. I tracked it down and it did the trick! Sending you heartfelt blessings!
Dude had a backup plan for every possible scenario. Love it. Awesome video, thank you sir.
Finally a better explanation than “stick the key that comes with it and twirl it around”. You told me what I was attempting to do by turning the key and what to do if I’d lost it, which finally helped me to unplug it! You saved me a hefty bill!
Thank you! You saved my marriage! 😂
🤣👍
😅😅😅😅😅
😂😂😂😂😂
lol
ok so the quarter inch drill bit hack was clutch, had 15 different allen wrenches and they were all the wrong size. 10/10 video
Guys like you saved me so much money. Thank you.
So glad we have TH-cam University 😂 I learned so much already
Using a wooden stick to rotate it, you are a genius! I followed your suggestion and it works, without need for finding the tool.
I have never comment to any videos, but this one is worth thank you for sharing
You certainly showed every possible way to fix it. Thank you
TH-cam University man!! Thank you, the wrench trick for a major W! Appreciate you.
Ma guy! Your video just saved my pocket. Thank you
Thank you for these tips. I didn’t know any of stuff. And luckily my disposal was just stuck and needed a turn from the Allen wrench.
All those “if’s” got it to work bro thank you!!
I had no idea it was simply not plugged in all the way until that part of the video was brought up and I checked 😂 thanks, much appreciated.
Thank you for the helpful video! When my disposal stopped working, I turned to TH-cam in a panic. Luckily, I found your video and followed your instructions. Without having any tools, I was able to spin the disposal with a stick and get it working again. You're awesome! 😊
me too
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I couldn't get the garbage disposal tool to do anything, so took a large wooden handled hammer and worked turning it from the inside. I've never loved the sound of my garbage disposal so much!
Thank you!! You just saved me $200 months I have someone else come in and do it (which I’ve already done several times now with 2 small children it happens often) thank you!
There was a measuring spoon stuck in mine, thanks to this video I was able to get it working again, thanks so much!
I'm calling my handyman, but we need these
THANK YOU!! I fixed it !! It was stuck..I took out dad's old tool box and tried about 10 Allen wrenches lol.... I now know which one is a 1/4 inch.. I'm so proud of myself !! Thank you thank you thank you!
The trick with the garden stake saved me. Thank you!
Thank you so much. Broken glass jammed my disposal and this was just what I needed to free it up after I'd pulled out all the pieces. Thank you so very much
I can't believe this worked! Bless you!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
This video should be required content for every person who rents or owns a home. Heck, how about requiring high schoolers to watch it for extra credit?
Public school should have opportunities to learn homeowner responsibilities
Absolutely.
You are amazing and saved me money! My college kid rental had a shot glass stuck! You helped me get it unstuck!!!! Thank you!
What a lifesaver of a video! My garbage disposal didn’t work for months and I almost bought a new one. After watching this video, one push of the reset button solved the problem. Can’t thank you enough!
Worked real well with a 1/4 inch drill bit and a T-Handle! Thank you so much for sharing!
1/4” Allen wrench worked for me. Thanks!
Saved the day, thanks. Had to hit the reset button. Buzzing, the disposal was jammed. The grinders could move freely. Unit is so sold and rusty. Using the 1/4” Alan wrench under neath and rotating back and forth did the trick for me.
Thank you so much for going thru all possible issues. Very helpful.
Very helpful . Thanks
Thank you "The Fixer 2" I just fixed my insinkerator with the help of your video. God bless you and keep making them videos...
Thank you so much! I had my husband use an Allen key as when our home was built we were never given that tool that you said comes with the disposal. It’s working!!! I guess it’s one of those things better use it than lose it. Love your suggestions and explanations!!!
We did exactly what you described, it worked. Saved us plumber $$$$. Thank you so much!
Bless you! I remember the wrench, but couldn't find it. I used an Allen wrench to push the button inwards and to move the blade via the hole. She started up nicely. I'm going to clean it after dinner tonight with Lemishine disposal cleaner and brushes. It is getting rusty inside though.
Thanks for all the alternate tools to use on disposal. So very helpful! 🤗
Thanks for the video it was very useful I was about to replace everything but watching this video I saved 300 dollars.
Thank you it worked!! I ended up using an Allen Wrench to turn the motor! Everything is working, thank you!
Simple and effective. You are the man!! Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you! I was getting ready to head to Lowe’s. You saved me some $$$!
Thank you so much for this! I did not have many tools to use, but i do have large sticks! I used your method at 2:57 and feel so incredibly thankful!!!! THANK YOU!!!
The Allen wrench trick worked for me. Had to carefully tap it with a hammer to get the wrench to inch a bit and start to dislodge and rotate. It was REALLY clogged.
Thanks for this, I watched another video and did the steps in that but to no avail but sticking a big stick and forcing it to turn did the job
Thanks for making this video. Super helpful!
SO glad I found your channel!
My disposal got stuck -- was just buzzing, so l pulled everything out under the insinkerator, and there was the trusty Allen wrench underneath the paper bags.
I'm a roommate here in this apt, so wasn't even sure if there was a wrench. Worked like a charm!
Thanks!!! 👍👍👍
Happy to help!
you saved my bf and my life. we thought we had to tell my mil that we broke her garbage disposal!!
So helpful. Thank you!
Awesome video…have run into every one of these issues…great DIY fixers
God bless you! ✨ Thought my disposal was broken but just needed to clear a clog. Thank you for posting this. 🙏
This worked, Thank you so much. Try to follow each and every step that is there in the video it should solve the problem.
Excellent video. This guy is awesome! Good job. No BS.
Thank you so much it worked. It didn’t work with the little tool on the bottom, but it finally works stick in the broom handle and turning it manually.
Very thorough and helpful! Thank you! You can count another problem solved.
Thanks for your explanation
Excellent! Thanks!
Woohoooo! Thank you so much for posting this video! The allen wrench trick worked! Took a little elbow grease, but it's working like a charm! Awesome video! Again, thank you for posting!
Thank you for your tips! We weren't given an Allen key when our kitchen was installed and although we learned about the reset button from Insinkerator, I didn't know you could manually turn the blades with a suitable Allen key. Ours had stuck fast and just liked to hum instead of macerate. 🙂 All fixed now, thanks!
tHANK YOU for your c lear, logical info!!! So helpful ,you do a great job!!!
Thank you, used the 1/4 inch tool to loosen it and it's works!
Thank you so much for this video! This is exactly what I needed!
Thank you for the video - this saved us a ton of money. I followed all the steps and it worked.
thank you! so i had no wrench so i used a piece of wood to rotate the blades. and YIPEE!! IT WORKED. Thank you!
Thanks, a 6mm Allen key fit mine, 1/4” probably correct size but I had metric set handy. Got it freed up & found one of those corn cob holders (the little pins you stick in corn on the cob for kids) jammed in there. I’ve never had a disposal before this house so new to me.
oh, you just saved me alot of money, i was just looking for a replacement when i found this.... it works again now, still sounds like something is grinding in there though
The little red 🔘 worked for me.
Thank you so much.
God Bless you for your information!
What an awesome video.....I was minutes away from buying a new disposal and decided to watch a few videos first....The turning at the bottom with the Allen wrench did the trick!!!!....Thanks!
That is so awesome to hear! happy to help!
Thank you I checked everything you said and now my garbage disposal is working again ❤
Thank you!! Just saved me $400!
Thanks bro I never heard of turning the bit backwards for it to work like that and it worked for me I used vegetable oil in it for good measure and spun the drill on the bottom and back in working order 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for going over all the possible fixes. I was losing hope because I misplaced the one size allen wrench that had helped me previously. Ended up using the wooden handle of a spatula to move the blades around and it worked! I wouldnt have thought of that without your example!
Thank you, it helped me. I used the Allen key and it worked.
You are the man!! Appreiate you so much. Will always have this knowledge in my toolbet and save me time and money!!
Thank you very much for making this video.
You saved me from having to call a plumber! Much appreciated!

Very helpful video. Thanks
Lifesaver. Mine has been "out" for weeks. Thanks bro. Worked like a charm.
Yessss❤Thank you. It worked with a quarter inch Allen wrench. I am subscribed to you! I accidently put a small glass bowl in mine...it was stuck...😊
Thank you! This is just what I needed!
Thanks man. I really appreciate it.
Hey Bro" good information! Had no clue on the reset button, I was able to talk my kid brother to fix mom's unit! Thanks...
Thank you so much!!! If it wasn't for you my disposal would stay broken. Fantastic video!! 🎉
